Well, "they" do say that weight fluctuates like crazy, depending on how much water you drank, what your hormones are doing, how much sleep you got, blah, blah, blah.....but it's just so hard to keep my head in the game when my body is doing that!! emoticon

When going zero carbs, I generally eat beef and that's it....and sometimes chicken and turkey and fish....but all meat definitely. I don't handle vegetables very well anyways....I have pretty severe digestion issues. So, eating meat helps calm everything down in there and I finally start shaking off the weight!

Keep me posted on how 1300 goes, Patty....

Hi Kristin,

Thanks for replying and making suggestions. I don't eat any bread, pasta, sugar, etc so any carbs come solely from veggies. Did you eliminate those when going zero carbs? I'm doing paleo-keto, didn't mention that before. I read so much about fairly rapid weight lose on paleo and of course rapid loss on keto, fortunate folks. I'm upping my calories to 1300 and will let you know.

What kills me is that I can gain 5 lbs overnight not cheating.

Do thanks again Kristin, I look forward to hearing about your progress.
Patty

One more thought....maybe you need more calories. Have you tried increasing that a little bit and seeing what happens?

Hi Patty!

Welcome to the team! I have a very tough time losing as well. I still have yet to figure out what will help me lose this time around......though, I suspect that it'll be the same thing it took last time...going zero carb. If I make sure my fat intake is VERY high, that helps too. It's all just one big experiment for our own individual bodies. I think some people are just lucky enough to find what works sooner than others!

Come back and post your findings as you discover them.....or if something is stumping you, come bounce it off us. Maybe we can solve it together! I will do the same. emoticon

Hi Linda, I suspect what I'm experiencing is just that, water and digestive tract level changes. I love the keto principles, don't miss carbs or sugar but certainly expect to lose even if only because of eliminating all "whites".

Well thanks for your reply. Good luck to you as well, let me know how it goes once you get into ketosis.

Good luck to you....

Hi,

I'm glad to be part of a keto group. I've been trying to stay keto now for a couple of months. I'm continually in ketosis by evidence of urine sticks but I've been losing and gaining the same 10 lbs with no change in my waist measurement. This is getting frustrating. Does this happen to others? I hear/read such wonderful weight loss stories and wondering what I'm doing wrong. Would being 60 years old make it more difficult? Does having my gall bladder removed have an impact by not digesting fat as well? My calorie goal is just over 1200 and my ratios are 70/25/5.

Well if anyone has any thoughts I'd gladly listen.

Thanks,
Patty
