DHAMPIR17....I think those are great reasons to hold off!! I am looking forward to hearing when/if she gets started!
SWEISSER....I'd love to know both of your names! Have you started your keto way of eating yet? How are you doing? Feel free to start your own thread here....like a personal journal of sorts....if you like. It would be a fun way to keep up with how you are doing!
We aren't starting until November because she has other medical problems that need to be discussed prior, mainly her kidneye reflux and blockage issues that could be negatively affected by this diet. We are also gaining a second opinion just to verify no other options would work as well since she has these other issues. Mainly, we are trying to find a diet that works for all four of her doctors.
Plus, she's been talking about Halloween since June and so we don't want to take that away from her.
Hello. I am a low carber but am interested in going keto for a period of time. It was suggested by my father-in-law who is a doctor. I have metabolic syndrome and I am maintaining my glucose and insulin with diet. Everything else is medicated. I really need to drop about 70 lbs and get off the meds. Looking forward to learning from all of you.
I'm curious as to why your daughter is waiting until Nov to start the diet? I look forward to hearing how she does on it and how it affects her epilepsy. I'd love to hear about her ratios prescribed to her, if you'd like to share.
I go back and forth on a keto diet and general low carb, but I definitely feel best on a ketogenic diet. Right now I'm working back towards lower carb.
I can't believe I found a group that is doing the Ketogenic Diet!
My daughter is epileptic and she will be starting the Ketogenic Diet this November, I've been playing up that she will be on a special diet and I'm going to do it with her as much as possible.
I know I can't follow the same ratios as she is because they are specific to her body weight and epilepsy, but I want to try and follow along as much as possible so that she's not alone.
I've been on my weight loss journey for a while, though I had to pause it with the pregnancy and birth of my son. He will be 8 months soon, so I'm ready to kick it into gear, especially since my daughter will be on this diet possibly long term.
