Hello everyone,
My name is Carolyn, I am 48, been working-out for 15 yrs off & on. I started doing Chalene Extreme in 2011 & last yr was the first time I actually stuck with it long enough to see my body shrinking & changing! Then my usual, the end of summer was busy, camping a lot & not working-out regularly, now I am getting back into it again. I HAVE TO STOP STOPPING! I literally get serious pains if I quit longer than a week! I should also mention I had a hip replacement at 39 & now have arthritis in my knees, that I can overcome pain from as long as I work-out!! I can not however walk for exercise, that hurts my knees & back, butt give me a good work-out & I love it!! Working on changing our eating habits & keeping up with that too!!
I am right now from 170 to 155!!
Looking forward to getting to know some new lady's & maybe finally do & complete a challenge for once! I've been on SP for yrs, but have not been here for a long time! Please someone inspire me & don't let me go!!!

Ok. Hello everyone. My name is Mya and 2012 was a rough fitness year for me.

I had a lot going on that year and I managed to pile on excuse after excuse. The first half of the year I was studying like crazy for a professional certification for my career. Whenever I wasn't at work or in the class, I was studying for the exam. I passed, but with it I also gained about 8 lbs. And... have not been able to lose them since.

I've always been a chubby child, but always active. I danced for the majority of my childhood & young adult life. I played soccer. I was a cheerleader. I was active. Never thin. But always active.

Even through undergrad I always tried to stay active. Went to the gym. Played indoor soccer. Etc.

It was graduate school that really did it for me. I moved 500 miles away from home. Worked part time. Had an internship. AND was taking night classes full time (3 nights per week). The homework load was INTENSE. By the time I was home, it would be 10pm and the last thing I wanted to do was workout.

I also stopped getting on the scale. It wasn't until I was getting fitted for my pre-ordered wedding dress that everything finally sank in... the dress wouldn't zip!!

I took matters into my own hands and started focusing at least on eating well. That helped me fit into the dress, but I was still large. When I moved back to my hometown, I started going to a boxing club and taking boxing and kickboxing 4-6 times per week. The fat (not necessary the weight) started to MELT off. I was feeling stronger every single week. A few years later, I started training with a trainer and doing HEAVY weights and BAM! 10 lbs GONE.... until I started studying for the certification that is...

So here I am, back up to the plateau weight that I had struggled through some of 2010 and half of 2011....

Hi everybody,
My name is Paola and I have been on and off in SP for a few years. Now, I am looking forward to tone up more than losing weight. I became so dependent on the scale that I forgot all the other accomplishments I was making. So now I am looking to becoming fitter and stronger.
I am also looking for a group that can keep me accountable and that offers encouragement and supports each other. I am also looking to learn more about fitness and healthy eating.

Hi Ladies! I've heard so much about Kyra from FitBeck27. I dream of living that ideal "clean" lifestyle but have a long way to go. I'm hoping with lots of hard work and being around all you fit ladies, it will rub off on me. I am a fit girl inside...just gotta make the outside match! I'm about 225lbs and my pre-baby weight athletic body used to be 140-145lbs. I'm 5'7". Looking forward to getting to know you all and work this OLD fat off!!! It's been hanging around too long! So long, I can't even call it baby fat...my kids are 17 and 13! lol

Oh and my ticker is based on the number of pounds I want to lose for this 12 week biggest loser challenge I'm in, here on SP. Just in case you were wondering. :)

Hi, name is Susie, everyone knows me as 'Donut*' due to several team events (Relays, 5k's etc.) I've done... anyway, long time Sparker (love SP!!) I've trained the the GISG (Kyra) once I really started listening to her, really doing my circuits (not just kinda doing the parts I liked), eating the good clean foods Kyra advised I finally (after MANY YEARS of killing myself in the gym, countless hours of being a cardio bunny and not eating enough calories), started to see results, the results I always wanted / dreamed about....AND I continue to see more results every day! I'm stronger than Ive ever been, I have more endurance than I ever have had - the GISG knows her shiz! I went from cellulite and saggy to strong and defined, IT CAN be DONE and I am proof! No longer do I dread bikini season... anyway, I am super excited to see this group pop up... it will help keep me accountable, hopefully I can help others in some way and I'm looking forward to 'meeting' everyone! (-:

Hello, ladies!

I'm Becky and I've been on spark for a few years now....I did Kyra's bikini workout plan a few months back and it literally gave me the best results I've ever gotten from a workout program (it helps that it's the only one I've been able to stick with, but shows that it's fun!). I've never been overweight, in fact, I've always been about the same weight, so my main goal is to decrease fat and gain TONS of muscle =) What that means for me is doing some cardio and lots of heavy lifting! I look forward to seeing results and hopefully signing up for Kyra's virtual training in the near future =)

So flippen happy you started this team, Kyra!! I'm on Spark a whole lot more than Facebook these days and now you can really keep an eye on me!

I started with Kyra in May and enjoyed FABULOUS results fast. It was after finished two full marathons in 8 days that I became mentally and physically (mostly mental) exhausted. That is where I am now. Digging my way back to where I was late summer with decreased body fat and a ton of toning. Losing weight is not an issue as I am at maintenance so ST is key here especially if I want to keep up with the rigors of running long distances.

Kyra, I will do my part to get this team ACTIVE!!!!!!!

Hi! My name is Emily. I just turned 30 in July. After losintg 100 lbs, I found myself struggling. Struggling to take the next step, not knowing what to do, or how to feed this new body. I started running and that worked for awhile. Then I stalled. I signed up with Kyra in July, but It wasnt until October, really, that I started taking advantage of her advice. Since then I have been making small improvements, and I am ready to start really living life healthy in my 30s. I haver a lot to learn about being healthy, since I spent 28 years of my life severely overweight/obese. (I invite you to look at my pictures to see what I am talking about! emoticon )

Hi Kyra! I am so exited for this new team. My name is Imelda I am a mother of three just turned 32. Maintained a low weight most of my life as I was lucky enough to be raised eating and appreciating whole foods and I love to cook so I have always had a lot of control over what I eat but the last few years a combination of things life stresses little sleep and more led me to start losing a balance and gaining fat. Made me very uncomfortable and frustrated at times. I started out the year looking top heavy as I store fat on my top half and after losing some fat and gaining more muscle I am getting closer and closer to my goals! I have learned a lot and am ready to keep learning what it will take to get there and stay at goal!

My name is Kyra Williams and I am the founder of The Get In Shape Girl, online personal training.

When I was 22 I was totally unhealthy - I ate nothing but pizza and beer and I weight 165 pounds. I was totally ashamed of this (as well as my ripped jeans that didn't fit) so I began my journey. After doing tons of boring cardio and calorie counting I lost 25 initial pounds.

I kept that weight off over the next several years with running and just making sure I didn't eat too much, but I still had pudge. This wasn't a true lifestyle plan until I found clean eating and circuit training.

With circuit training and high intensity interval cardio I was able to not only lose 15 more pounds (140 to 125) but I gained muscle so I began seeing things like abs and delts! I also fell in love with a new style of eating - eating clean, unprocessed, whole foods. I no longer had to worry about not eating too much, or being hungry.

Now I feel strong, happy and energized. I am in the best shape of my life and now I'm ready to help you do the same!
