This forum is so deep and wide, that I haven't gotten around to introducing myself to this group till now. It looks to me like this group is formed by the people who joined around the same time frame.

I am here to work through losing 8 more pounds and to mostly change the old programming that has kept me on the hamster wheel of gaining and losing over the years. I am a fitness lover and so it is the food portion I struggle with.

I am enjoying the forum very much, so far. People have been supportive and reaching out from the beginning, which is great. I look forward to getting to know this group and would love to be friends to.

God did not put you here to play small!

My name is Coreen and I have just transitioned from Babyfit to spark people. Despite my efforts, I still managed to pack on quite a few pounds... Because Sparkpeople worked for me after my last pregnancy (165 to 133lbs) I figured I would do it again... I gained just about as much, and want to lose just as much and just get back to feeling like me again.

My name is Georgia, and I am finally getting around to changing my lifestyle.
About 5 years ago I was close to weighing more than my mother (I was 276, she was 290 for the first time in years) so I decided that was not going to happen and lost 25lbs. I've maintained my 250 weight since, except just recently I had my first kid and was still snacking during the day when I went back to work (no no, bad). My husband and I have talked for a couple of years now about changing our lifestyle to eat healthier and be more active (we were on a diet of fast food 5 days a week) so on the first of November, I figured it was time. I made a deal with my husband that if I lose 1.5 lbs a week (we measure on Friday) then he would bring me home flowers that day (I never get flowers). We have been walking in the evening about 3 times a week with the dog and baby, and I've taken up my wii fit again. I don't want to go all crazy and be a fitness maniac. I just want to get down to my college weight again. I'm a big lady (6 feet tall!) and and 200lbs in college I was a buxom bikini babe. That's what I'd like again, but maybe this time with some lean muscle for strength. I got down to 250 with just dieting. I think this time changing what I eat instead of just drinking slimfast the results will be better, and I won't be hungry all the time. :)

Hi! I officially have my first week under my belt and am feeling focused and strong (for the first time in a long time!). I was a Spark People member a few years ago and actually had quite a bit of success. I am sad to say, I've gained a lot of that weight back...and had a real wake up call when I realized I was very close to being at my original starting weight way-back-when. I fought too hard to get it off the first time and am ready to fight again!

Hi I am Diana,
I just started sparkpeople the other day to help me out a bit. I lost around 12 kilos over the last year (lost it awhile ago but have kept it off) and still have another 10 kilos to go. Living in the land of pasta and pizza, keeping the weight down is not too easy since I can't go a day without pasta lol. I try to get to the gym 3 times a week but sometimes all that I do there is physical therapy since I have back problems and having 2 preschoolers does not help with that much.
But I will track what I do, when I do it so that maybe it will help with my thinking 'I didn't do anything'.

Hello Everyone,

Having tried before and failed to stick to my plans, i am now at at moment where i really have to shift my attention and energy to myself. My name is Inge, 40, I live in the Netherlands with my Swiss partner and 6 year old daughter.
I have somehow managed to get myself into a stressful job for the last 5 years that i feel turned me into a emotional eater (I don't think i did that before). I feel have been trying to 'survive', while completely losing contact with what I really want in life. I do not want to always be in a hurry, feeling stressed because there is always things that i didn't get around to finishing in time. Before I end up at home with a burnout I have to shift attention and use all this energy i've been using to keep my head above water to get myself back in balance.
One thing to do to get better would be to stop ignoring the fact that i am very unhappy with my body; the way it looks and how unhealthy is.
So here I am, very overwhelmed by this website but hoping to find friends here that are determined to help each other to reach a few goals. I sure need you!

Hey all. My name is Brindy, I'm 24 (almost 25) and from Maine. I just recently moved back home to get life back on track and in doing so started to gain some weight back. I had lost 113 working at my job and have gained back about 30lbs since moving home. I do not want to give up the weight I have lost so far and want to continue working towards my healthy self. New surroundings, loving support system, new job....now for a new me!

Hello....
Connie here from MICHIGAN! I have a substantial amount of baggage to give away while establishing healthy eating habits and a solid exercise routine. I work full time, and although I enjoy my job it requires sitting on my franny all day. I'm just sick and tired of being sick and tired. I want to be strong and healthy as I head down the happy road to retirement (not sure when it will happen but I want to be ready!). So let's get to it folks...

Hello! I'm Rachel. I'm a 26 year-old wife and mother of two girls (4 and 10 mo), and full-time college student. I live in Orange Park, Florida. I've used SP many times, never consistently enough. I feel overwhelmed MOST of the time and the work of weight loss seems like more than I can handle, but I know it must be done. I am severely overweight (75 lbs above a healthy BMI). I have high blood pressure and I just feel like garbage all the time. I know getting healthy will change my life for the better and I know I can get awesome support on this site. Hi all! I'm Deborah from the Indianapolis area. Like Linda, I used spark a few years ago... However, I stopped paying attention to what I was eating and also stopped trying to exercise & be active, and so gained weight. I'm back here because the food and exercise trackers are wonderful! Also, I'm training for my very first half marathon and really want to lose the weight while I'm training.

I'm Linda from Toronto, Ontario Canada and just re-joined today! I was on this site a few years ago but lost touch with my healthy eating due to a relationship/getting comfortable etc (still in the same loving relationship, but we both gained weight!).

I am at my highest weight at the moment of 190, and have to get healthier! The past few months I have just not cared about what I ate at all. I would like to lose 50lbs as my main goal.

Hi everyone!!

I am 27 years old and live in a small town in Michigan. I currently weigh 202 lbs and am trying to meet my goal of 150. 1/1/2012 I weight 232 lbs and was absolutely miserable. As I travel this weightloss journey it gets harder and harder and I find that I need support from friends and others going thru the same things that I am.

I currently have 2 children, 3 if you include my husband...I work full time and I am 100% involved in my health. To say I am busy is an understatement but I manage just fine. I am excited to become even more serious about this and hoping to lose 50 lbs in the next 8 months.

Hello! My name is Sydney, I am 20 years old, and I am currently eating Crispy Minis. Hmmm... I would like to lose some weight, and more importantly, some inches. I'm Christine and I joined SparkPeople because my friend and I have recently gotten into personal fitness. I have heard amazing things about Spark and I think that being a part of a community that is focused on positive change will be GREAT! My biggest obstacle is consistency and talking myself out of exercise but I am here to change my ways! My ultimate goal is to run/walk a half marathon by June of 2013 and run/walk a full marathon by Dec 2013. It's time to get moving- one step at a time!

Hey All!! I am Katie. I am 32 and been obese for...well...for a very long time...since I was 5 probably. My sister recently lost gobs of weight and is looking good! I really want to join her when she shops and not just be her fashion advisor! I have no idea what it's like to be anything other than a size 22/24 or weight something less than 255 to 272 pounds. I am a mom to one and step mom to three. It is not always easy. One of my step sons has behavior issues and is very hurtful to me. I eat to feel better. We are financially struggling right now and it makes buying healthy food for four growing/teenage boys hard. I can barely afford crappy food for them let alone healthy food for them and myself...I can't even for myself and my husband anymore. Looking for new work to help better support my family. Looking for motivation to at least do the things I can do to help in losing weight. Looking to find new friends and some support on Spark!!
