Starting slow and easy is the best way. The C25k program, found on coolrunnings.com, is a great way to start out slow with intervals. It builds up gradually. Many of us have repeated days or weeks as it got tougher. If you have a Droid or Iphone there is a free app called c25k that will give you signals of when to walk and when to run for each day of the program and also lets you play your own music while doing it. Jeff Galloway also has a great training plan with walk/run intervals. Just go as slow as you need to and build up the stamina and endurance. You can work on getting faster later. But if you start out too fast and its too hard then it's so easy to get discouraged and quit. But go slow. You can do this!

Hi! My name is Rebecca. I am 29, a mom to 4. I am trying to get the weight off (once again) and once upon a time when I lost weight before (about 7 years ago), I was jogging 2 miles 4 days a week. Unfortunately, I am very heavy and I so yearn for that feeling when I was able to run. I am going to start slow and build my way back.
Every workout counts...even if its for 15 minutes. Just do it!
