Hi, I started running about 7 weeks ago and I ran in two 5k races so far. It is hard but I am enjoying it. I am signed up for another 5k in August and planning on doing another in September. I find that signing up for races helps keep me modivated. I know I won't come in first but I will finish!

Welcome, Andi! I'm pretty new to running too, just started in February with the Couch to 5k program. It's a great way to build your runs up gradually. It's hard work but definitely worth the sweat! Great job on your first 5k!!

Congrats on your 5k win! And YES it was a Win. You completed something you say you didnt ever do before that is hard for you. That's a big WIN in my book.

Keep up going at a pace that works for you and you will be amazed at what you can do as time goes by.

That is awesome! I am new too. Just getting started, My 13 year old son and I have been running together. It is a breeze for him...more of a struggle for me. We are not only getting healthy, but we are spending some great quality time together.

Hello there! I am new to running for exercise. I've always hated running my whole life, but lately I've been seeing what great results runners have with loosing/maintaining their weight. I started walking/running about 4 weeks ago for 60 min. a day. I won't lie, it doesn't feel all that great. But then after a week and a half of pushing myself I was able to run at 4.0 for a whole 10 min! Woo Hoo! I was so surprised! But then the next day I got a sinus infection and had to quit running for 2 weeks. I'm all better now and have been running for the past 3 days, it's still no fun but I feel pretty good afterwards. And that's saying a lot!
Today I managed to run a 5k in 57 min. I never would have thought that was possible a couple months ago! Anyway, I'm glad to be a part of this team and plan on spending many happy hours scrolling through the posts while I recover from my runs!
-Andi
