Hi everybody. I am new to this group and am really excited about running. In fact, I am about to walk out the door to try it for the first time. Out of curosity, do you all feel that it has boosted your weight loss compared to just eating healthy alone? I have tried to run before but lost interest. I am hoping that with the tips from everybody else I can stay motivated. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Welcome Danielle! I started with walking/running intervals myself back in January, slacked on exercise for a couple of months and started back into running in June - barely able to do a mile. Now I'm up to averaging 3 miles each run. What's helped me the most to keep pushing is reminding myself that running is mostly mental and all I have to do is keep my feet moving and that I'm allowed to slow down. Best of Luck!
Hi Danielle. Running is fun! Finally.... : ) Took me a long time to get there but you sound more like my husband. He did run/walk intervals for a little while and soon dropped the walking. He was like Forrest Gump! Me it has taken much longer but I am finally to a place that I really enjoy it! Just wish I had of started earlier in life~
I have recently started running. Or beginning to run and alternate walking. My goal is to run 30 mins with a 6 week program, upping my running minutes slowly. Running has felt nothing less than great, I've been surprised. Looking for tips, friends, and hellos. Danielle
