Yes, advancing is much harder than I thought it would be. I hoping it is because I live in Texas and the heat and humidity are so horrible in the summer. I'm sure hoping that when the weather cools a bit I can advance better. Last night it was so hot I almost couldn't make what I'd been doing. Came in and watched the weather and the heat index was over 100 degrees...no wonder! But I do love the fact that I'm running and I love how great I feel afterwards and the muscles that are growing in my legs. Makes wearing dresses much nicer. I've always had skinny calves and now they are rounding out! Whoo hooo!

Hi, I am a beginner runner. I have been speed walking for two months and decided to kick it up a notch by running. I am now in my second week of walking and running a mile. I cant wait to actually start running one mile without stopping. Its very hard. But everytime I do it, and complete my goal for the day. It makes me feel good like I can do anything. My goal is to actually run a 5k next year.
