Hi! Welcome to the team! Like Breefawn said, if you think you're running so slow you're walking then slow down more. Also on your off days you can just walk or do another form of exercise. Good luck!

Thanks! It turned out to be pretty easy! It was late so I couldn't go outside, but I jogged around the house. Can't wait until tomorrow morning when I can do it again!

You can walk on your non-run days or do other cross training ... ellipticals, bikes. At least one day should be a total rest.

Welcome!! You should be able to do week 1 with no problems, actually. You're probably running too fast. I learned to SLOW WAAAAAY DOWN. Then, when you think that you should probably be walking, slow down some more. The program is designed to build up to running longer times, not faster speeds ;) You can always work on your speed later!

Life never gives you more than you can handle. Accept challenges with grace and know that you are stronger for overcoming them.

I actually have a potentially stupid question already... So if we are running three days a week, what are we doing the other four? Would just walking be okay???

Hi there!

I'm so new to running that I will have to work up to the "week 1" run. And here I was all proud of running three 50-yard runs last weekend! emoticon But it's good to have a program to work with, so I'm really happy to have found y'all!

I'm doing this because I want to become fit and able to run with my boyfriend who is a foot taller than me and used to run and wants to get back into it. Other than some extremely embarrassing times in junior high school and one extremely brief attempt a decade ago, I haven't done any running other than some quick sprints for the bus. I have, however, been doing a lot of walking for about three weeks now, six days a week (the other one is at the rec center on a wave machine and a stationary bike).
