My mid-year reflections expose that I'm not being honest with myself; still using excuses for not keeping my promises to myself. However, I'm determined to do better. I will eat like the healthy adult I intend to be, and make time so l can have fun running again. Each day has some laughter and joy assigned to it and I'm going to seek it out.

Yesterday, as I was driving to work, I saw a turtle crossing the four-lanes of traffic. I imagine the turtle was not focused on what may hinder his/her way, but instead on steadily progressing towards the goal. Yep, that's my new motivation...steadily progress towards the goal. And you can do it too!

All you can do is focus on one day at a time. There will be good days, bad days and then I don't know how I feel days....accept each day as it is. Life happens...and it makes you stronger.

I am still a work in progress. I have just got over PTSD as far as my dad and sister's passing and the anti-depressants have placed quite a bit on me.

But TODAY, I am in a good place and I know I am moving in the right direction emotionally and mentally. I haven't signed up for any events yet. Most of my events take place in the fall, but I am determined to shed this weight and gain my positive and loving vibes to myself again!

One of my goals for the year was to run a half marathon. As of the last few weeks, I've gotten back on track towards finishing that goal. Another goal was to stick to being vegan for the year. I've slipped up a few times, but overall done a good job!

I have accomplished 6 races thus far. I have ran 3 and just walked 3. The remainder of the year, I will be running my upcoming races as well as having them timed. My goal for the remainder of the year is to work on consistency with my training. A friend of mine from BGR Indy is really encouraging me to do a half marathon in November. I'm not sure I will be ready. However, she said if I continue to train like I'm doing, I should be ready instead of waiting until next year. We'll see if I do it! I may just stick with the 5K event.

I will be hones and say I do not have any goals at the moment. I met a few already; I ran 4 half marathons this season and I even accomplished a personal best on one. Right now I am focusing on getting my kids ready for the next school year.

I did go to Target today and I bought a jump rope. I plan on starting small one minute intervals 3 times a day and slowly adding time.
