Hello Angelina! WOW! You've lost 20 pounds in a month! That's fantastic! I've been doing this for 2 months now. Of course, I'm not walking 5 miles a day, but I lost 10 pounds so far. I'm thrilled. Five pounds a month is right on target for me.
When I started tracking my nutrition at SparkPeople I realized that I wasn't eating enough. So whenever I tried losing weight I was literally starving myself! Getting a nutritional balance, enough sleep, and the right amount of exercise is key for me. But I've also found that having the motivational and spiritual support, as well as the access to expert advice and information here at SP has given me a good foundation for my healthier lifestyle. :)

I'm with you on the "it's harder now." When I was in my 20s & 30s, all I had to do to lose weight was cut back for a few days and zazazoom! the weight dropped. Now, it seems like I can put on 2 or 3 pounds in a weekend, then it takes a month to get it back off!
Since joining SparkPeople, I've been able to learn more about the correct calorie amounts and am much more inspired to exercise, which I always avoided in the past.

Hello everyone I am a single mom of two kids. My weight increased due to stress and emotional eating, I originally lost my pregnancy weight. I am older now and find it so much harder to loose weight now. I started on spark people about a month ago. I have slowly been trying to loose weight. I started with a diet change two months ago and than incorporated fitness. I was very out of shape so started with walking. While my son was still in school I walked 5 miles every morning than added a jog to the walk. Now that my son is home, I use a variety of workouts such as the Crunch series on Netflix, a few workouts I have found on youtube. I recently started 30 day shred 4 days ago and I feel like this workout is amazing and definitely feel a difference as far as toning. In the past two months I have gone down from 162 lbs to 142 lbs today. It has been very exciting and very hard. Right now I am looking at what I need to change, possibly adding more calories to my diet, I have been feeling very tired and fatigued and adding rest days to my routine. Its definitely harder now than loosing a couple of pounds 15 years ago but I am proud of my progress it has given me a new life with my kids. I hope to meet others on the same path and learn from others and help others if I can.
