Welcome to the team, Angela. I think a lot of can attest to how hard it is to be parents and do what we need to do for us. From a male perspective, I can definitely see how fitting it all in can be tough.

I know where you're coming from with the kids - my three boys are aged 8 to 11 (will be 12 in October), and it's hard to find that balance! Especially in the summer when they're home full time. I try to get them involved in moving with me. :)
Welcome Angela! This is hands-down the GREATEST team on SparkPeople. I can attest to that because I've met a few of them in person.
I too am very busy with 3 kids between the ages of 8 and 15, and struggle with all of the responsibilities and so many things pulling me in different directions. I'm far from reaching my goals, but I've found that making SparkPeople a routine in my daily life helps keep me on track.

Good Morning all. This is Angela. I got spark-mails from 4 different people giving me steps in getting started. They all said to come here and introduce myself. I checked out SP about February time frame, but never really got into it then because of arthritis to my hip. I was always used to running to stay active, but it is odvious now that running to stay in shape is no longer an option for me. I had to go ahead and gain more weight before considering other forms of exercise that would be beneficial although take longer to show results. My four kids range in ages from 6 to 12. Trying to balance meeting their needs with meeting my own needs has been challenging as well. I finally discovered that there are many things I've been doing for them that they are perfectly capable of doing for themselves. I just wasn't ready for all of them to grow up. I have discovered ways to get them to help me with chores now and this gives me just a little more time for me each day. Ready to help the kids grow now and turn another page in my life to see what God writes on it.
