Having those temptations out of the house is a great idea. Also making a back up plan for yourself of things you can do instead of snacking on those tempting foods. Call up a friend and talk until the craving goes away, go for a walk but not the store to get your fix, paint your fingernails...you can't eat with wet nails. Hope some of these ideas work for you my friend.

Get a relaxing tape and listen to it.All so think back to the past and try to remember why that way of behavior started. Then try to replace it with self talk like food is not love comfort friendship etc.emoticon

I am not pussyfooting around. :)

Hi, my name is Dana and I'm desperately trying to kick the 'snacking' habit. I get stressed, bored, overwhelmed and I reach for the nearest sugary or salty, crunchy snack i can find. I know by keeping it out of the house, it won't be there. But I've been known to go out and get my fix because i need to comfort eat.

Just need to get this under control so I can succeed.
