I have a pedometer. I wore it to work one day and logged 7 miles in one shift. emoticon No wonder that my feet hurt.

Put in a brisk walk instead of a slow pace and get a step pedometer-$6 at Wal-Mart. When you realize how many steps you take it encourages you to walk a few more each day.

hello & welcome...

I, too, am a nurse...& after 12 hours...I don't feel like walking or much of anything else...

but when I need to walk from one end of the hospital to the other...I do my best to walk faster...& that has been helping me...because I do alot of walking at work...

then on my days off...I try to fit in additional exercise...

maybe that will help...

*smiles*

I'm excited to have found this group. I'm a nurse.I work 12hr shifts at a long term care facilty. I have lost 13 of the 93lbs I need to lose. My BIG problem is Exercise. After working 12hrs my feet hurt too bad to walk. I tried walking for 15 min twice a day but that really hasn't helped at all. I hope someone can give me some ideas. I look forward to chatting with you all.
