There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world
Welcome Jenn!!! I just LOVE YOUR BLOG!! And I had no idea that you are a fellow nurse! I'm so excited that you decided to join this team! I look forward to hearing about your adventures, success and struggles along the way as I too share with the group. Good luck!!!

Good points Jenn. I'm an LVN on my way to becoming an RN. I would like to eventually be a nurse instructor, so I have a few years work ahead of me too, we'll see how long it takes. I also feel that if you want to be taken seriously by your patients you can't be obese, it's like one smoker telling another one they should quit. The only way it would work is if one says "let's do this together". So here we are! Good luck and God's best to you.
I'm an RN also and my hat's off to you for your current fitness success! Stay in touch, okay? We'd love to be your cheerleaders!

"When I say it’s you I like, I’m talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive. Love that conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed.” Mr. Rogers
I'm Jenn, I'm currently a registered nurse but I will be starting a family nurse practitioner program later this summer. That will be a 3 year adventure. I currently work as an organ procurement coordinator and as a health writer, but I'm an SICU nurse by training and I've also done home health.
I want to be a thin and athletic nurse practitioner. I've lost 32 of the 176 pounds I want to take off so far (thanks SparkPeople!). I want to give advice about health and not have people look at me like they would have to be nuts to take the advice of an obese person who clearly doesn't know anything about maintaining their own health.
I'm really happy to be here!
