Rochelle,welcome........glad you have joined us on the team........wishing you all the best with your journey...........blessings and hugs............lita
There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world
You have come to the right place to find support on your fitness adventure. Spark involves a change in consciousness. You are not dieting--you are becoming more fit.
Come back and post often. Research shows that those who participate actively in their weight loss community lose more weight and keep it off. I'm glad you've joined us!

"When I say itís you I like, Iím talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive. Love that conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed.Ē Mr. Rogers
Thank you so very much. I have always been heavy although there was one time in my life I was rather thin - this is because I had been running cross-country with my friends from high school. However, my birth control made me very sick and my joints were damaged as a result and I stopped running. I am going to get it back though! Even if it is slower :)
Anyway, thank you for your words of encouragement. It is very nice to meet you.
Oh Rochelle, You are so fortunate to have the insight to start on your journey at this time in your life). I have never been athletic or exercised on a regular basis. Weight only became an issue after having children and mid-life for me (as it is for so many). The habits you are forming now will hopefully prepare you to maintain an example for others you work with and serve.
Good luck on your Spark journey. If you need a "motherly friend"...add me to your friend list. I am on the opposite coast (Oregon), and am a Family Nurse Practitioner the past twenty years, but like you, I started as a candy-striper, then Pharmacy Technician, LPN, and RN in my previous lives.
"How can I ask someone else to do "it", if I cannot do "it" myself?
Hello everyone! My name is Rochelle and I am a 20 year old from Maine. I have been a CNA since I was 16 years old graduating at the top of my CNA class. Since then, I have been working in nursing homes and recently took my first job at a hospital as a behavioral technician for the mentally ill. I truly love my job as a CNA; however, I have been pursing an education as a dietary technician. I graduate in December and take the board exam before moving on to obtain my registered dietitian. I also have an associates liberal arts degree in education. One of the reasons I am on spark people is to embrace the life the my career encourages others to find - I know the information, now I just have to live it. So anyway, hello everyone. Nice to meet you!
