Ft Hays has an excellent reputation as a school but I have never heard anyone discuss whether the on line classes are user friendly. If I had heard how complex they made the web site I would not have paid for classes there. I am seriously thinking of withdrawing, get a refund and go elsewhere. I already bought books but I can try to sell them. I donít know that I want to even try this summer with Ft. Hays. I am scheduled to have surgery in July and it may be too much for me with the stress of the web site not being user friendly.

I have taken other classes online through a junior college to get more liberal art classes in and loved it but the web site was user friendly. U of Phoenix is really expensive, same with Chamberlain. If I had the cash in pocket I would go thru Webster. I know a lot of people who have gone thru them but they also had employer backing so the cost factor was not an issue. Where I work the tuition assistance has been stopped. Switching employers isnít a help as you usually need to be employed at a place for at least a year before tuition assistance kicks in and Iíve heard from other nurses that hospitals are stopping tuition assistance all over the area here.

I know some nurses who took MSN program at the University of Phoenix. Never heard of F. Haye's. Just make sure you are motivated to do it. I tried to get my BS in Healthcare Admin and could not focus at all. I need the structure of a classroom.

As a social worker, can't help point the way for you. But OUCH what college costs are these days!

Back in 1980 I finished my 2 year MSW program at Michigan State University with only $10,000 of debt.

These days many students finish 4 or 6 years often with $60,000-80,000 of debt...that is INSANE! One has to wonder if a skilled blue collar worker might earn more over time than white collar professionals!

I don't know if you can use Swank Health, you're hospital has to be registered with them. My sister's military and she was taking classes thru Swank.

Have you Googled Ft Hays' reputation? I'll bet there are forums out there where that's being discussed, maybe even their local BBB would have info. If you don't get more info from the wonderful team here, that is!

Anyone attending summer classes on line? I am going to start Ft. Hays State University virtual classes on Monday. I looked over the blackboard format they use and it is a nightmare. Anyone else going to school through Ft Hays?

I want to get my BSN and they were cheaper than other schools. I can get it for about $10,000 there whereas other colleges wanted $26,000. I thought the price difference would be okay but now I am wondering if I should switch and I havenít even started classes yet. Just getting through the maze to sign up for classes, financial aid, etc was a pain in the butt so I am worried about actually taking classes.

Spent two hours on line this morning and only read part of the stuff on how to take a virtual class ONE teacher wants us to know before actually starting class. I have three classes to take this summer. I have attended virtual classes at another college that used Blackboard and it was easy to use but this mess Ft. Hays has does not look easy. It doesnít even resemble Blackboard as I know it. It looks extremely stressful and I donít want that stress. I have enough stress with dieting, work, and life in general.

Any ideas of another college for my BSN that wonít kill the budget? I have to pay out of my own pocket for everything as my employer doesnít pay a dime. I already have my ADN.
