Welcome aboard Donna!
I have a history of having had the stomach stapling of yore...early 1990's. But regained everything I lost and THEN some.
This time I've lost it the old-fashioned way, healthy eating and exercise...unfortunately just wasn't "ready" back when I had my surgery.
It can be truly amazing what can be accomplished in the span of a year or two. You've come to the right place to launch the NEW YOU!

“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

Today is the Tomorrow I worried about Yesterday!
I am a part-time Parish Nurse, part-time Home Health Nurse, part-time administrator of Project Peanut Butter.
I began to have serious weight gain, when my daughter was diagnosed as bi-polar and was very out of control.
I have decided to take back my life!!
It is hard, but I am slowly getting comfortable with not binging my feelings away and I actually love the gym-at least the bikes and elliptical.
I hired a trainer, who is trying to kill me.
Here at Sparkpages, you will meet others who share your struggles and who are here to support you!!
Hi! I have been in health care for a long time, hospital, nursing home, agency, and now school nurse. I have also struggled with my weight for a long time. Actually I do not remember ever being a normal weight. I am only 4 ft 11 inches so any extra pounds has no where to go but out. I am considering lap band surgery. I have went to a seminar and need to be under the care of my physician for 6 months so I am going to try to do it on my own but if I have not made significant progress at the end of 6 months I plan on doing it. I have over 100 pounds to lose. I watch the biggest loser all the time and I know it can be done, I just need help.
