Hey have you googled the "5 day pouch test" Don? This is a great tool to find your sweet spot again. You're right that tummy is still smaller than most.

Princess- Roux en Y is the name of the gastric bypass surgery. I had my stomach made smaller and my intestines re-routed to give me malabsorption. This is different from the "lap band" which just makes the stomach smaller.

Thanks for the welcomes.

You know what? There is no such thing as an "easy way out"! You've been successful, that is what matters! Holding ONTO that success, that's what matters even MORE! :-)

I am a "failed" gastroplasty from the early 1990's. However, I really did benefit from it. I was originally 450 prior to my gastroplasty, quickly lost down to upper 200's, then gained way back up into the 300's.

Since switching to a low carb approach and using some of the tools here @ SP, along with the WONDERFUL community support, I've been able to kick my losses down and KEEP them down.

I know that sweet high-carbie foods are my trigger and just don't 'go there' anymore. I've cut them all out of my life, like an alcoholic cuts out alcohol when they recover.

Also, my old stomach-stapling STILL assists me if I pay attention. Carbie-foods seem to 'disable' my stomach-stapling warning, however and the bottom drops out when I eat that stuff.

Terrific to have you not only join our Team, but to jump right in and post away! Woo hoo!

Yes, this Team IS quite large, but mostly just a few of us are active here. Certainly hoping we can all SPARK more folks into joining in!

Wow, this is a HUGE team!
I'm a small town family doc and am persuing an active healthy lifestyle including low carb eating and daily walking. I am one year out from roux-en-Y surgery and would be happy to answer any questions about my journey. (But I wont get into a philisophical debate on taking "the easy" way out... sigh... I saved my life, simple as that)

Anyway, looking forward to support. I've got lots of low carb recipes posted if anyone is interested.

Have a great day!
