Hi, I'm Susan. I was diagnosed about 2 years ago with asthma; I'm 52 years old. I don't have any allergies according to the tests I took. I live in San Antonio, TX and this past summer's high humidity almost took me down. I have a lot of trouble with exercise; just walking up a slight incline can set me to heaving for breath like a buffalo with a head cold. I'm still learning how to deal with and manage my asthma on a daily basis.
Do any of you experience any kind of disbelief from family or co-workers that you really do have this condition and that it really does affect your daily life and daily energy? I get that from my co-workers that this is all in my head, even though they can hear me gasping for breath when I arrive at work in the morning.
I am at the highest weight in my life and I could use some pointers on the best ways to exercise. I'd like to hear how y'all cope daily.
