I am currently only on albuterol relief inhalers for myself, as well as allergy shots 2x weekly and daily allergy meds. Only one of my daughters has asthma, and it is exercise induced, which is how I started out at 9 years old. I'm hoping to make healthy family changes in order to give her an example for a healthy, active life, so that this does not become limiting to her as well.
I know all too well how stinking expensive medication can be, I'm just thankful for school insurance with my new job, everything is a $2 co pay - even inhalers and nebs. :) Thank goodness.
Thanks for the nod, and I wish you well with your family and your goals.
Welcome and glad to have you with our team. I have three kids and all of them including myself have asthma. Some days is a struggle for me and hate having to use relief inhalers myself. So far I have lost weight to help me with controlling the asthma better but for me certain smells can trigger an attack for me. With my older two kids they are exercised induced and is control with the relief but little one who is two is controlled with a nebulizer treatment daily and boy is the medicine expensive. Good luck to you and wish you all the best on your journey.
I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me Philippians 4:13
I'm a school nurse in NM and studying to be an AE-C, finally getting serious about my health goals. I've had asthma since age 9, and severe allergies.
I'm looking to lose 104 lbs this year, for my own health, wellness, and personal satisfaction, as well as be an example for my 2 girls (6 and 9) and the 750 students I care for every day.
Looking for others who wish that tracks had albuterol misters, and understand the frustration of choosing breathing over your workout goal from time to time. Hit me up!
