I take Proventil inhaler and Singulair. When I stopped taking the medicine as a test I found that I did wheeze quite a bit and relied on the inhaler more. Agree with the exercise and sorry it only took 6 months to reply.!

Hello Iowa.. Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to get encouragement and advice from asthma to diet to exercise. I am fairly new here too. about 2 weeks old. Already I have learned so much from these women and men. What type of meds did you quit taking? Some I have been told to not quit cold turkey..can cause an absolute horrific attack. But most of the new ones gave me such side affects that I had to stop taking them. So now all I use is the Ventolin HFA inhaler and Singulair..and exercise. Again Welcome.

Hello, just wanted to say hi to everyone. I have been living with Asthma for 35 years. My troubles typically kick in during exercise and cold weather. Recently I have experimented with cutting back on my medication and have been doing surprisingly well. Thanks for letting me be part of the team!
