I saw a spark video of a pilates breathing exercise that has really helped me. Find it if you can but I think it goes like this. You sit up straight, pull your shoulder blades together (towards each other). Holding your stomach in, breath by raising and lowering your chest, not using your stomach. In through your nose and out through your mouth.
Hi, I'm Kathie and I had asthma pretty bad as a child. As an adult I haven't had it bad and only used an inhaler for awhile around 10 years ago. Over the holidays I had a couple of episodes where I wished I had an inhaler again. Might have to see my doctor again about that. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you found anything to help increase lung capacity such as breathing exercises. I have tried to find ideas like playing a wind instrument like a harmonica or blowing up balloons. I have even thought of taking singing lessons to learn proper breathing techniques. My mother kept me pretty quiet while growing up because of my asthma so I have never done a lot of exercising.
