Great job at the end of your first week. I have gone through 4 weeks, and have been doing well. Staying away from the sugar foods, the things that set off my triggers. Keep up the good work and see you around

Today is the last day of my FIRST WEEK and it has been a good awakening for me. Drinking 8 water a day, no diet coke and I think this has helped me. Cut back on snacks a lot and this too is a good feeling. I know next week will be even better. Stopped the instant oatmeal.12 gr of sugar in one package.......
Grocery shopping in a few days and will be adding in some new items to help with less sugar to fill me up. Oatmeal, cooked for 5 minutes is a plus, adding banana or peach, cut up in it and really delicious..

I believe when we have children that we forget to take care of ourselves including stopping to sit and eat a true meal. We count going to the park with the kids as exercise. We start munching while cooking for the family and do not realize that before the meal of pasta is cooked we have already ate our portion. I started chewing gum or setting out chopped apples to munch while cooking. I started measuring my pasta, I now realize that what I thought was a portion was not even close. I upped my fruits and vegetables. LOL The same stuff we want our kids and family to do. Good luck.

Hi all, MOMOTHEGREAT I like what you said, it sounds like a really good place to start. But TPENNINGS1987 like you said, (about the short curse) I have it the other way, and why do I say that, because when you come to that place or day that that is it and your going to eat healthy & exercise and all. And then all you get from people is (you look good you don't need to do that) I know for me it makes it almost as hard. I'm toald that you can't tell as much because your tall, but I know the pants size and what the scale says. So I am sorry about this, but I really do know what your saying. And I do think that SP is great and it can work. Good luck and hope to see you around. 1 last thing I hate computers, because I don't think you can tell how something is said, so I just wanted to say I wasn't meaning it in a bad way, ok I hope that makes sence? Thanks

Keep moving. You have children, so that's not a problem. Watch your snack foods. You might hte the apples and bananas for a while, but they will be come best friends once you lose your fondness for chips and sodas. I am 56 and a lifelong sugar addict. Family genetics and mid-life have given me a good reason to rethink my habits. Some days are tough and some days are easy. My reward for the good days have become my bragging rights to people who see me regularly because i have made this a (pretty much) public announcement. I want to do better for my body and my mind. Water! try to make that your new addiction if you like sweet drinks.

Hello, I'm on my 2nd week and loving this website and program. Just browse through it and only do a few things at a time. It can become very overwhelming. You will do great. Using the message boards as a support system is great. Being a stay at home mom is tough. One thing I remember doing with my son was eating his leftovers. Just be aware that this may be something that you are doing. You are already on your way.

I am a stay at home mom of 2 boys (Morgan and Mason) and wife to a wonderful husband (Tim).I live in South Dakota right now, but hopefully will be moving within the next year to a warmer location. Anywhere that -30 is never seen... LOL! I am 25 years old and slightly overweight. I don't know if it has everything to do with having kids, but I do know that this is the first time I have been this heavy EVER! I am heavier now at 165 than at my heaviest point in either pregnancy 158. I am hoping to lose weight, but instead of being at a reasonable weight, I want to go a little further and get down to about 125. That is the perfect weight for my stature. Being short is a curse, I hate it. I am ready to own this curse and make myself look good anyway.
