emoticon to SP and to the sweet tooth challenge. I am sure you will find everyone supportive of you in your journey to better health.
My first suggestion would be to fully understand both the food and fitness trackers and how they work. these are very valuable tool in the lifestyle change you are ready to begin

Hi...it is great that you have come to SparkPeople! My story is a bit similar to yours but with only 3 boys (smiles). I have found on those days I have to be on the go and eat out the healthiest fast food is Subway heatlh subs (6 inches)....load up on the veggies and stay away from the sauces (except the sweet onion which is like 40 calories for 1.5 tbs). They are very filling and the turkey/ham sub (on wheat or flatbread) is like 280 calories while the oven roasted chicken sub is about 320 calories. For the rest, we keep celery and carrot sticks in "to go" pouches in the fridge so we can grab something as we walk out the door! Good luck!

Hi, I am a 40 years old and have struggled with weight issues for most of my life. I lost about 25 pounds last year but managed to gain about 10 of it back over the winter and holidays. Part of my struggle comes with difficulty I have in exercise due to chronic pain issues. I had been using My Fitness Pal but am ready for a change and have heard great things about Spark People. It is time for a change in my life, not just a weight loss program but a lifestyle change. I have been happily married for 7 years to a man I was great friends with for 13 years before we got married. Between the 2 of us we have 5 girls. I brought a daughter to the marriage who is now 17 and just graduated high school. He brought twins who are now 22 as well as 2 other girls now 13 and 14. We were just blessed with our first grandson earlier this month. I work full-time as a Business Analyst for Thirty-One Gifts. In addition, we own a sign company that keeps me busy outside of my normal job. We are usually busy which makes it difficult to cook full healthy meals all of the time and we all know that eating on the go can be difficult. I am more determined now than ever to make the changes to a healthy me now. I look forward to supporting each of you as well as receiving the advice/support from you guys. We are in this journey together and all working toward common goals.
