Spark has a really good slow cooker site, with some really great recipes. You can make anything you have a recipe for, slow cooker or not. The only change you have to make is to enhance the amount of spices you put in it - slow cooking requires more salt and pepper, for instance, because it seems to disappear in the slow cooking process. Good luck in your adventure. Don't keep the cooker hidden away - once you use it you'll never hide it again. Fran

Crock pots are great because you can throw a bunch of stuff in them, walk away for the day, and then when you come back you have delicious food ready to be eaten. It's about the only way that I cook these days. There are a lot of sites online that have slow cooker recipes and most of the recipes give pretty good directions about how to cook them. Try doing a google search for slow cooker recipes, you'll find about a million of them. If you want to cook chicken (just as an example) then type in "slow cooker chicken recipes," or whatever you want to cook. SparkRecipes has a lot of good slow cooker recipes, too. Good luck and enjoy your crock pot.
There was much rejoicing!

Hello, I have a crock pot which ( I am embarssed to say ) I bought it over a year ago and still have not used it once. I live on my own and it would be good for me to plan my meals and on weekends make multiples serves of food that i can store in the freezer.
I live in a one bedroom apartment and space is at a premium on the kitchen benches, I put my crockpot in the cupboard last summer after it had been on the bench unused all winter. I live in South AUstralia and it would be good to look into dishes that work well for summber like chilli to go with tacos etc
I am not very savy at cooking, This means i have lots of knowdlege to gain;-) I look forward to SP crockpot Team
