I have Italian Caramelized Chicken in the CP today -- chicken breast tenders with zesty Italian seasoning mix and brown sugar. I'll probably broil it a little when it's done to truly caramelize the toppings. The pic looks really good, can't wait to get home and try it!

Today I use mine to cook some stew. I had started preparing it before thee KSU basketball game and rushed to much. i had done everything except plug it in and start cooking. I didn't realize what had happened until three hours later. it was a good thing I had plenty of leftovers on hand because my mom came over for dinner!

I used my crockpot to make homemade chicken and rice soup. I cooked the chicken, broth, peas, carrots, onions, celery, basil, pepper, garlic salt then an hour before being done I added one and a half cups of rice. It turned out great. I have been eatting it for lunch for a few days now. Because of trying to stay aways for frozen lunches I am trying to make soups in the crock pot and taking them to lunch each day. So far so good. Next week is ham and potato soup and also split pea. I am trying to stay away from preprocessed foods so I think the crock pot will help alot with that.

I will be using the crock pot Friday since I have choir rehearsal. I will cook tonight while I sleep and when my DH comes home after work tomorrow dinner will be ready. Now what is going in the crock? Turkey Cutlets, seasoned with a combination of spices of my own creation, a little bit of Chardonny some onions, and while I am working out and getting ready for work I will add cubed sweet potatoes, and cabbage. Let it cook for an hour and it will ready before I leave the house in the morning.

Made another venison dish in the crock pot but it was not as good as the one I cooked a few weeks ago. Last nights one was venison, cream of mushroom soup, milk and an onion. It was okay but not my favorite.

Today I put several pieces of chicken tenders, some sliced bell pepper, 3 T. picante sauce and 1 can of Fiesta Nacho Soup in the CP and cooked for 6 hours on low. Served it over rice. DH loved it!

Last time I made this, I had Pepper Jack Soup, but Campbell's has stopped making it (so I was told).

I made turkey vegetable soup to use up leftover frozen turkey.

1-2 cups cooked turkey bits (substitute any leftover meat you may have)
1 15oz can diced tomatoes with their juice
1 32oz carton chicken broth (homemade is better, just put bones from your next whole chicken carcass in a crockpot with a splash of vinegar and seasonings, and make "free" bone broth)
1.5 cups frozen mixed veggies
1 large baking potato, peeled and chunked
2 medium onions, diced
Seasonings to taste

This morning I prepared fresh green beans with ham and potatoes into the crock pot. Hubby got home about an hour ago and called me, I'm still at work, to let me know I FORGOT TO PLUG it in. I was so set to have it for dinner when I got home. So was he. I can't believe I forgot. I guess it's 'cause I was trying to get it all ready before I fixed him breakfast.

Today I have a pound of pinto beans. Since I'm gone for at least 10 hours, I rinse really well, then add a LOT of water. I also added a couple huge cloves of garlic and a good cup of chopped onion. They always turn out so good! Yesterday I made SP Creamy Italian Chicken slow cooker recipe and it was absolutely to die for! I put it on top of some quinoa and it was quite the hit. Will def be making that one and the salsa chicken more often.

Cooked a whole chicken in the CP today. Good taste & now I have a good protein to eat this week (minus the skin, of course).

I have a bowl of pinto beans soaking to go in the crockpot. Put some turkey necks in this morning and when I get home will cook the brown rice and greens for a good lunch tomorrow (for some strange reason it always tastes better the next day!).

SMIGDON there's a similar soup (depending on what was in your cans), Zero Point Soup, on the soup thread and on the WW thread (although fresh is better, much better, you can use canned carrots, diced toms, I've even used frozen mixed veggies, etc in the zero soup).

Soup Thread (click on thread link below, when it opens then do control/F, then type "Zero" in the search box, to find the zero soup recipe):

I made a vegetarian Mexican Chili. I let it slow cook overnight then cool off and placed it in fridge ready to serve for dinner. You can serve it on lettuce top with cheddar cheese making it a Taco Salad or over rice (Spanish Rice). You can eat it by itself as well.

Sadly rice is off my diet for a while. So I have to stick with just meat and veggies. I will probably make a corned beef and cabbage next week. Tonight is simple chicken salad with grapes, walnuts and apples.

Put some slices of pork loin in the CP & added about 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth, 1 can of cream of chicken soup, black pepper & a few red pepper flakes. After cooking about 4 hours, thickened it a little & served over rice. Tender pork & tasty gravy.

I'm craving buffalo chicken, and already have the chicken I bought on sale, and buffalo sauce.

I'll cook the chick in the CP, shred it and add some sauce and cornstarch.

Buffalo chicken quesadillas (or burritos), sounds really really good . . . I could use the filling for anything. Buffalo chicken pizza sounds really really good . . .

I used my crock pot to cook white beans, then added chicken breast and salsa. I misjudged the time and thought they were done and cut them off to cool. I just put them in the frig and will finish them tomorrow. Some will go in the freezer. I am trying to eat more beans and lentils and I have found the crock pot is good for this. I usually don't eat them the first day and just put in the frig. That helps to thicken them up.

Slow but will get there!

I have a good-size beef roast on top of red potatoes, carrots, celery and onions, sprinkled with garlic powder, some thyme, a touch of salt and pepper. I added a splash of balsamic vinegar and soy sauce. That'll cook for around 10 hours 'til I get home from work (I put the beef in frozen) and we'll have a great comfort-food supper when the snow is blowing. We're forecasting up to 8" last I heard. People were going NUTS in the grocery store last night when I stopped to get chocolate chips and strawberries for my son's bd party this weekend!

I used my Crock Pot to make a Vegetarian Mexican Chilli today. I made a big batch so I could freeze some. I had to work so I left it still cooking with my husband. Came home after my shift to find that he had had quite a few servings. He said it tasted so good that he couldn't resist having more. I guess that is a complement to my cooking but there goes the food I was going to freeze.

Deanna that sounds so wonderful I'm going to try it next time I find a roast on sale at ALDI!

I'm still eating my split pea soup and it is soooo good. Full of veggies, light, broth-based soup, not that heavy green starchy paste that split pea usually is. I guess you could say my split pea soup got SP'ed, emoticon

My proposed menu this week is all non-crockpot items, so unless I make some farewell-to-winter-chili, I won't be using mine.

I cut up a beef roast in bite size pieces, browned them, added 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 can of cream of chicken soup, sliced bell peppers, sliced onions, and 2 c. of milk.....all put in the crock pot and cooked on low for about 7 hours. Tender meat, wonderful gravy.

Split Pea Soup

1lb bag of green split peas, picked over to remove debris & small rocks, rinsed.
2 one quart containers of chicken broth from Dollar Tree
2 onions chopped - these were on sale last week at Aldi's for 79 cents a bag
1 cup sliced celery
4 carrots peeled and diced
1 1/2 cups diced ham, from the last spiral that was on deep sale in Feb - after cooking the ham I froze sandwich-size slices in individual baggies, & used several baggies' worth for the soup today. It's easier to dice when the meat is still partly frozen.
Seasonings to taste - I used salt and garlic powder.

This is the best split pea soup I've ever made.

I bought a marinade packet from the grocery store that you mix with lemon juice. I soaked my chicken in it overnight then plugged in the crockpot in the morning. Whipped up some mashed potatoes and sauteed asparagus when it was time to eat. The family LOVED it!

I have the same experience with the crock pot oatmeal. It was a one shot deal for me as well. Sadly my Medium size crockpot bit the dust this weekend so I am going to have to get another one. Now I am left with the large one and the small appetizer size one and of course the tri-crockpot party buffet. I guess I do love my crock pots since I still have 5 after the medium bit the dust. ha ha

I have a nice thick sirloin steak from our own steer with potatoes and brown gravy simmering. I put it in frozen since I have a long day today, that way hubby and son can have supper. I won't be home from work, singing on the local tv station, then our church's youth group until 9:15 or 9:30 tonight. I think I better take a vitamin......

Have steak to use today so have to look up a recipe. Her bf is not keen on tomato sauces and that's what used for the hamburger concoction the other day. Suggestions?

This morning made a crockpot full of BBQ chuck, got pkgs of beef for $4 off at ALDI's. ALDI's calls it "country style chuck ribs", but it's not ribs; it's odds and ends of different cuts of beef, sometimes cut in odd shapes but mostly cut in strips like boneless ribs. Far far from real "ribs", but, delicious in the crockpot and an excellent price.

Added 2 onions, seasoning (garlic powder & chili powder), homemade BBQ ingredents (molasses, vinegar, mustard, ketchup, and a few shots of Tabasco), and a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's.

Turned out super flavorful, not hot, lots (too much) moisture, not dry at all, super tender. Definitely would make this again and again. The amount of liquid is bothersome. I may try not using ketchup next time.

I recommend the turkey enchilada soup, the author is our own team's NWILKER. It is really really good, I would make it again and am sure I will, God willing.

No recipe, just put a couple of slices of pork tenderloins, tomato sauce, chopped onions & bell peppers plus garlic pepper & Nature's Seasoning in CP for lunch. Hope it tastes as good as it sounds!

Happy crocking everyone.

Crock Pot Turkey Enchilada Soup
recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?

I am making this soup today, am thawing out some of my Jennie-O turkey sausage bought on sale at Aldi's for 25 cents a package. I'll remove the casings and brown it like regular ground turkey / ground beef. I have some bell peppers to use up so I'm adding those, in addition to the green chilies. I don't have any jalapenos so I'll skip those; I have Tabasco sauce that I'll use instead or put on the table.

I'll make it without the GMO corn, though, since I have no access to organic corn.

Welcome Tweety, I have a brother in Colorado. I'm in North Carolina.

It is so wonderful to walk in and have dinner ready already; and the aroma when you open the door can't be beat. You won't be sorry!
