Yes I would think a whole frozen chicken might be pushing your luck, lol.

That is good to hear. I have heard not to put a frozen chicken (whole) in. I can't imagine that turning out, just guess you are right - you need the right recipes. Good luck!

It works for me. I do it all the time. I just thought some people might have some recipes for frozen foods. It is perfect if you put it in around 1-2pm, For instance I put frozen ground beef in the crock on high late yesterday afternoon and we ate burritos at 7:30. It was fabulous.

I have heard people say frozen food in the crock just doesn't work. I haven't really had success with it. I try to take out frozen food and stick in the fridge the day before I want it then it is ready when I need it. I don't like to mic. either!

Yes but the meat is tougher and tastes funny. I most often throw my meat in frozen and it cooks just fine, my question was, do you have any recipes for that purpose. I don't care for the microwave but thanks though.

Microwave works fine for defrosting quickly.

As a busy Mom, partner and graduate student I am so glad i found this team! I love my crockpot but eating healthy seems to bring the same-old foods. I attend school at night so starting dinner before I go to school, in the crockpot, works well for me but my family gets bored and I end up leaving the food up to them to cook so they can have a little variety, inevitably I come home at night to hot pocket, mac'n cheese, and top ramen packages all over the place, etc you get the idea...So this is great! I am looking forward to all sorts of simple recipes and hopefully a few low-carb ones since my daughter's medical conditions require it. Oh do you guys also have recipes where I can just use frozen meat since I don't always remember to thaw?? :D thanks all!
