I would add my exercycle to the mix as well as my dumbbells. Add different exercises from time to time. I even have my Kettlebell to use. Plus, I recently purchased a Chair boxing DVD. I use that 3 times per week. My Kettlebell I use 2-3 times per week. My exercycle I use 5 days a week. I have one day off of any exercise to let my body rest.
I have gotten into a good habit of regular exercising so that it continues right after I have my surgery next year. I also have been doing good with my food and exercise tracking daily.
My walking I do at work. i work the night shift on a very busy cardiac floor here at my hospital-which is the biggest up here.

Greetings NEW2ME2012;

When was your Gastric surgery? What type did you have?

The advice is the same for before surgery and after- watch what you eat and exercise.
That is the key. The surgery is just a tool.emoticonemoticon
