Hi- My name is Pam. I have 5 children and have been married for almost 12 years. When I got married, I worried that I was too fat. I weighed 145 pounds. I suffer from migraines, achy joints and funky blood issues. I do not think my health is the best and I am tried of feeling run down, and no energy. I am not a sedentary person, but I do not take time for myself. Because of that, I skip meals, skip looking in the mirror for too long, and skip exercise that does not include chasing after children. I am tired of being tired!!! I want to not be stupid when it comes to my health. I need to lose weight. I currently weigh 220 pounds. My health problems have made me fear exercise because I tend to gain more weight when I exercise and it does not come off. However, my goal is not to lose weight! I think that will be a benefit of consistently taking care of my body by eating at least 3 meals a day, exercising consistently, and paying attention to the example I am setting for my children. This is my goal. I want to be healthy and active. I want to be able to live life without having a cloud hang over me. My goal is to change my life, not by dieting but by eating healthier, and exercising more. I know this is going to be a great challenge and I KNOW I will feel so good and excited to be able to wear smaller clothes and close up that Wedding Dress! Let's get to it!!!

It infact convienient that i wore a saree for my wedding..so most of it is draped but the blouse is a different story. I wasn't at my best fitness wise when i got married. i lost 5 kgs post marriage but then post pregnancy i have gone back to my heaviest i have ever been... not due to the pregnancy but due to now eating right - i did great till my lo was 8months but then i restarted work and didnt continue with sparkpeople much due to my crunched time and i have put it alll back on
i am looking to lose 10kgs 22pounds in 9 weeks... its the countdown to my brother inlaws wedding.. i know its a lopsided losing battle..i plan to do it healthily without any crash diets... only cutting out the refined carbs, piling on the fruits and veggies and protein. and eating small meals 4-6 times a day. that coupled with 45 min cardio a day and 3-4 days of weight training should help. once i get a lil more active i will be pulling it up a notch with dancing every day for 30min along with the cardio and gym
I have just started keeping a journal on my blog... switchlife.wordpress.com i am journalling my weight loss from 10kgs... i will be putting up my sparkpeople calories intake and workouts on it as well

I really haven't done much on SP pages before or thought much about trying a challenge. This is very tempting for me, come Oct 5 this year will be our 10 yr anniversary. I'm not 100% sure how much I weighed back when we did get married because back then I wasn't really over weight. I would say I was probably around 130. My dress was a size 5. I have 11 lbs to loose to get to 130, so I would love to be able to say I can fit back into my dress by the time 10/5/12 gets here!! So I gladly accept this challenge. Maybe this will for sure motivate me to stick to my workouts & calorie counting!! I did great last year from Jan-Aug because I had lost 23 lbs. But with the holidays and my mom having a massive heart attack, I gained almost 5 back. Mom's illness also woke me up to realize I need to take better care of myself. I'm actually quite proud of myself, I started a workout routine last sunday and have continued for 6 days straight. Today is my rest day so I'm really hoping I can stick to the routine. I'm already feeling much much better just from 6 days of exercise & calorie counting. Bring on this challenge I say!! Hoping this will keep my motivation going!!!!

This is SO funny, because I was just laying in bed this morning thinking about how great it would be to put my dress back on, and have it FALL OFF. I wasn't at my goal weight when we got married two years ago, BUT, my dress is too small now, because I have let my weight come back on and plus some. I would love to be a part of this challenge!!!

This has been a goal of mine ever since we got married 12 years ago this summer. My brother in law is getting married our anniversary weekend. Would love to show up at his wedding looking better than I did on the day of my wedding.

After a family death of someone younger than me, neck surgery, mono twice and the swine flu, I gained more weight than I care to think about so fitting back into my wedding dress seemed impossible. I'm half way there from the past 2 years at spark people. This sounds like a fun challenge to get me the rest of the way!

I also will be celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary in March of this year and when we got married I weighed 120lbs and was 4.5 months pregnant. I would love to get back into my dress but when I look at it I think how tiny it looks and to think when we got married it was still a little big on me in the top. I don't know if I will ever get back into my dress but it sure would be nice to come close to it. I have a picture of me and my husband on our wedding day on my sparks page if you or anyone else would like to see it. Best of luck to you and all of us in this group. Sunshine_06

How FUN! I need to pull that dress out and hang it up in my office to remind me everyday! Can't wait to fit into it and take a picture! Third wedding..simple, understated dress. I had lost weight without trying at the time...LOVE will do that sometimes.....so I don't even know what I weighed then...but think another 15 on top of the 30 I have recently lost will get me into that dress!

When I was married 30 years ago, I weighed 125, and my husband promised we would work out together so I could lose the extra weight! It never happened, but I would love to fit into my wedding dress again! 31 years November 2012!

I still have my wedding dress. We are approaching our 12 year anniversary next month and I have recently lost 40 lbs and believe it or not, my dress is too big for me. I am in clothes now that I have not worn since 1996. I had kept a few cute dresses that i hoped I would eventually get back inot and i tried them on last week and they fit perfect. I still have 30-40 more to lose and need to get more focused, but it can be done. I wish you luck getting back in your dresses and maybe even being too small for your dress, as I am. I will keep you posted on my progress. I have promised myself that I WILL wear a 2 piece bathing suite this summer on on week long vacation. My boys, being honest, but blunt, said I would NOT look good in one and my husband did not actually say anything, just gave me a look like, yeah right, so I plan to prove them all wrong. Team work keeps us going and makes us stronger.

WooHooo! What a great idea!
Recently a friend on SP fit into her wedding dress from like 25 years ago. That's been my "secret" goal since reading her blog and seeing her picture! I'm not sure if my hips will ever fit in my dress (after 6 kids ;-), but then I never thought I'd lose 50 lbs, either :-) So - here I am, almost 28 years later, in the best shape I've ever been in, and I'm ready to give it a try. I was thin when we got married, but the "skinny fat" kind of thin. Now I have muscle, so when the rest of this fat goes, I may even look better in that dress! Besides, my dress wasn't hip-hugging ;-)
This just might be what I need to give me that final push!
Have fun, everyone!

A blog recently asked what times in your life you could name and what you weighed...
I basically only remember starting college '95, getting a wedding dress '02, getting pregnant '06...
I have lost some 55 lbs in the last year and find my wedding rings fit loose and I am sure I could fit in that wedding dress again. It is just such a wonderful occasion in life filled with pictures of really big smiles..... Why not feel that energy again!
