Well Hi Everyone! It looks like this team has been a bit inactive but I hope there are at least a couple of people still around so we could help each other. I am D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-E to lose weight for my health and my appearance. Somersize is the ONLY way I have ever lost weight. I love food - love to cook it, love to eat it, love to serve it. The minute a 'diet' tells me i have to restrict myself i know it's not happening...I have 6 children and work 3 part-time jobs so i am busy, busy, busy and I often nibble my way through a day rather than eating regular meals. My goal is to lose 30lbs by Christmas. I do T-tapp for exercise, walk, and am committing to following Somersizing. If there is interest, I will gladly take on the leader roll for this board even if there are just a couple of us. I have TONS of recipes from somersizers from back when there was an awesome website we all used...it got shut down when she closed her party business.

so if anyone is out there...let me know!

Hi! I've been sparking for some time now but am glad there is a Somersize team. I have always enjoyed Suzanne and bought Somersize last week. As I was reading it I started to wonder if there was a team on here. Glad I found it.

Hi There!

I've been Somersizing for about 3 weeks or more and have had great results! I Somersized about 10 years ago too and had great results then as well -- that's why I decided to go back to Level 1 to help take off my baby weight after my second son. I know this way of eating is something that I can do, and that works for me.

I'm excited to be a part of this team!

If anyone is interseted, there is a Somersize FB page someone started that has recipes which may be helfpul to group members. I recently joined and the group is very supportive.

Hey everyone,
I am new to this group and to the Somersizing movement. A friend suggested it to me and it really looks like something that is do-able. I have spent years yo yo dieting and this just seems like smart eating so I am going to give it a go. I am glad that there is a group on here that I can come and chat with :)

May you always dance to the music that lives in your heart. Be you and be beautiful!

Hi, I am so excited to find this team. I have been a member of Sparkpeople off and on for years, but never really joined a team. I lost over 40 pounds Somersizing several years ago, but I did not incorporate it as a life-change, therefore gained all the weight back. I have made a commitment to stick to Level 1 for one year. My son graduates from high school next May. He attends a very small school and parents are very involved in the graduation so I want to look great on "stage". This time I really want to make it a life-change and to do that I am going to need support and accounability.

Thanks!

Hi! I am new to this team, but not new to Sparkpeople!
I am so excited that you started this team!!
I love Suzanne Somers and I have several of her books....still reading them too. I have a 'motivation issue' and I am hoping this team will keep me on track!
I hope we can all help each other meet our goals and have fun doing it!

Thanks again! emoticon

OMG, I just started this team the other day and am SO excited to see others already joining! I am new to this too, but am hoping we'll get some experienced Somersizers joining. I've been researching, and trying to learn what's "legal."

I got tired of spending so much time reading labels at the grocery store, so I'm putting together a list of legal brands and products that I hope to post soon.

Welcome everybody, and I hope we grow in this process. Just one reminder...Suzanne said it can take several weeks before you notice progress. So Iíve started measuring myself, because Iíve noticed inches lost more than lbs so far. It keeps me from getting frustrated when I can see progress, and not just count on the scale.

Hi there. Introducing myself and saying how thankful I was to find this team today. It's small but hopefully will grow. I have ordered the Sexy Forever: How To Fight Fat After 40 and the Sexy Forever Recipe Bible. I am a twin. My sister and I have both battled weight nearly all of our lives. Both of us Had Gastric Bypass several years ago and lost about 170 lbs. each. A year ago I got sick with strep and was allergic to the routine treatment and ended up with serum shock sickness which led to another diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have gained 40lbs in one year and my body is being stubborn about giving any of it up. My sister and I tried several diets together over this past year and she loses while I continue to gain. I also was diagnosed with uterine/cervix cancer and just over a month ago had a hysterectomy. I am hoping that the Somers approach will help me get some of this weight back off. Between the Food Combining and the hormone therapy something had better work. Anyway, looking forward to my books arriving and to the support and additional insights I might gain here.

Hi my sister sent me the sexy forever book, and we are working on eating better, and reducing toxins in our food and our lives. We are not into the bioidenticals and all the supplements. We are trying to make small changes that last, rather than revolutionizing our whole lives into a plan we can't stick to.

Hi,

Welcome to our Somersizing SparkTeam!

WHY I STARTED THIS TEAM:

I lost a lot of weight years ago using food combining (Marilu Henner's Total Health Makeover). Now that I'm going through menopause, it's becoming even more of a struggle to maintain a healthy weight. My sister attributes the Suzanne Somers plan to helping her keep her weight off, even after menopause. So I'm giving this a try.

Please keep this limited to links regarding Somersizing. Please report any inapproriate links that are unrelated or are spam or phishing links so we can keep this SparkTeam safe.

KEEPING IT ORGANIZED:

I was surprised there's no Suzanne Somers Spark Team, nor a team for food combining. There are a lot of websites out there about Somersizing, but many are fragmented, disorganized or offer inaccurateor outdated info. The goal of this SparkTeam and related links is to provide the best and most updated info in one organized place.

I've debated on keeping the plan info separate from the questions, but then I think people may have questions within the plan. I'm open to ideas and suggestions on how to best organize these forums. This is a work in progress so I'll probably re-organize it as it grows.

Below are some links I've found to be helpful. I've signed up for some Somersizing Yahoo Groups, but don't want to post the links until I know if they are any good. I'll add more as I find them. Please feel free to share your favorite Somersizing links and info too!

-A great Somersize Support Forum: somersizesupport.lefora.com/

WANT TO HELP?

I work a lot of hours, so please contact me if you'd like to help me maintain this team. I'm hoping we can work together to learn the "Somersize" lifestyle and share great menus and recipe ideas. Good luck!
