Hello, my name is Diana. Don't let my ferocious tiger scare you. I am on the Tiger Monarch's team for another challenge and need a reminder to be fierce! I saw this challenge when I was visiting SunflowerGal40's web page. I like the idea of committing to a healthy habit for 100 days. I have been trying to lose weight with very little success. I know where I need to improve but don't seem to be able to commit to change. I am working through all the emotional issues that accompany weight loss. I think I am making some progress there and now it is time to put my "wishes" into real action. I love the theme of Pray, Eat, Move and will base my 100 day challenge within that framework. I look forward to getting know all of you.

Hi, I'm Pam. I found this team when I went to the SparkPage for DOLLFACEDX. I'd gone to "meet" her since she and I have just agreed to help as co-leaders on another team. She had this one on her page, and I thought it looked interesting.

I'm approaching my 1-year SparkVersary (9/14), and I've been treading water pretty much all summer. So I decided that this concept was just what I need to get back on track.

I'm a retired RN. Married. Retired to Fulton, MO, just after Christmas 2009. We chose this location because #1 son Tobias is here in his dream job at Westminster College. #2 son David then moved here with his family, also from Southern California, the following summer. After his wife left him several months later, he became a single Dad.

We had shared a house with my Dad, who died last January. After much thought and prayer, we decided that shared living with David, Erik (6), and Sean (3) would make life easier for all of us. Paul and I have been work-time child care providers, and lots of other support. The juggling back and forth between houses got harder when Sean started preschool. So when David's lease was up August 31, this seemed a wise choice.

Of course, we're nowhere near settled, but we are making progress. Now I can begin to focus more energy again on my weight loss journey!

~Pamela lives in Fulton, Missouri.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from The Lord, which made heaven and earth.

emoticon Hi! I'm Hannah. I'm from the USA (mid-south). I exercise regularly but I need to focus more on my food. I need to track more faithfully and eat a greater percentage of QUALITY calories.

I work part-time and enjoy lots of activities including reading, old movies, birdwatching, travel, gardening and some crafts.

My goal is to be active every day. I'm not sure just what all I want to commit to for 100 days, but that's a start.

Looking forward to supporting you all. emoticon Slow and steady wins the race!

My name is Sandy. I am married with two adult children in college. I have gotten the exercise thing under control but have not been tracking my food regularly. I usually choose good foods but my weight fluctuates up and down 10-12 pounds. Stress is playing a part of it because my husband has been ill this last month and so I have been trying to get him back on track to health and it affects me too. My goal is to track my food and exercise for 100 days straight good or bad and make myself a priority again. I love the Spark and my Spark friends. They have been my support through out my many ups and downs in life. I know what I have to do, but my life has been a rollarcoaster these past couple of months. Time to focus on health first and give me some time again! I want to be more healthy spiritually, mentally and physically!

My name is Vicki and I'm 56 years old. I've stepped off the scale and will not be using one any more to determine how I'm doing. My goal for 2013 will be to drop inches and to get to the point where I have more energy and hopefully get off blood pressure pills.
I've been struggling with this for a long time. Scale watching has done nothing but make me feel bad about myself and I've actually gotten bigger. So it's time to turn things around and do things my way and let go of the dieting mentality and get heathier both in body and in spirit.

I'm climbing back on that wagon I fell off of and was pleased to find this team because I like challenges and I really need accountability. I weigh more now than at any time in my life and I think this team is an encouraging place to get back on the wagon. I'm married 33 years and live in Idaho.

I'm joining this team because I need all the positive challenges I can muster. My name is Pam and I'm from CT. I've very recently been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and my moods have been crazy up and down. I'm trying to get a handle on my life and SP has been so helpful to me since I joined, so why not help myself by doing another positive thing for my health.

I'm Vicki and I live in Florida.
I'm working towards making the healthiest choices I can when it comes to taking care of myself. I've put away the scale and will no longer weigh myself except when at the doctors office. I don't want to define who I am ever again by a number on the scale. I've done that for way too many years.
I do want to make exercise a top priority as I have a couple of health issues that exercise would improve. Also it would definately give me more energy.
I'll basically be doing a low fat plan because I feel it's the healthiest way to eat. I want to incorporate a lot more veggies and fruits into my food plan and a lot less red meats and oils as they don't agree with me very much. I don't consider this a diet since this will be the way I eat from now on.

Hi!

My name is Patty. I am from Covina, California.
I struggle with my weight and was exercising up until Easter when I was getting short of breath with burning in the chest when I exercised.

I went through a workup for my heart including an angiogram to find out that my heart is great.
I am frustrated because the right leg is numb after an angiogram and have not been able to exercise since april. The cardiologist referred me to the pulmonologist who diagnosed me with bronchitis without a cough. I was prescribed steroids for 15 days and just finished them.
I feel like a doughgirl and want to feel better again.

Wish me luck in my challenge I wish you the best too.

My name is Sheila and I'm a retired elementary school teacher living in NE Ohio. I posted my 100 Day Challenge goal, involving daily exercise, in the challenge thread. I joined Spark a few years ago and did great initially. I have lost my inner motivation and am gradually gaining all of the weight back. Health problems are returning as the pounds return, and I MUST take control and get back on track.

Hi, I'm Melanie and began serious changes with Lent. I want to stay committed in order to get these habits to form like an igneous rock. I'm gluten sensitive - but not sensitive enough that a sudden and sharp reaction keeps me away from it. Over time I become anemic and other vitamins deficient, but without that immediate reaction this is pretty tough to be strict about, especially when my family, or at special occasions people, are enjoying pizza or bakery delicacies. Otherwise I do pretty well. Had only partial control for the last year and felt so much better after being completed dedicated to staying gluten free. I'm also trying to incorporate daily meditation and Bible reading. Third, because of one of my rare conditions, I now have to increase my calcium, which I had succeeded in almost eliminating based on another medical opinion. So my real challenge is how to increase my calcium intake without raising my caloric intake. I haven't even begun to lose weight on purpose, though I am also trying to walk once a day - I'm up to 1/3rd of a mile. A total of 4 habits I want to focus on during my 100 days. Is this unrealistic?

We are all in process...

Hi, Everyone:

I'm Louise.

Too much backsliding lately, but I've made a new commitment to get back on track, and reach my goal of 118 by my birthday on April 21.

With many health issues, it's a challenge but I WILL DO THIS! No more excuses!

Take care and God Bless!

Hi. Just stumbled across this team and love the idea of a 100 day challenge. I've been on Spark for a while - it will be 5 years in March. I am on maintenance, however that does not mean I have it all figured out. Still fine-tuning as I go along. I'll post my challenge goals shortly. My challenge starts tomorrow and runs through May 7.

Hi, I'm Vicki. I'm 55, and have 55 lbs to lose and I'm working towards losing it by my birthday next year so that gives me 20 months. I just found out yesterday I have RA so I'm making big changes over the next few months in how and what I eat, and the amount of exercise I get. I will not let RA get me down. Looking to make a lot of new friends here.

Hello all,

I re-joined Spark today and am so glad to be back and on this challenge. Please visit my page...there aren't any photos up yet because I am techno challenged. :)

Here's to us, one day at a time.

I have been on Spark People since I returned from vacation late August 2011. I was tired of being overweight for many reasons. For about 4 months I took things a little slow but I made progress with behavior changes. I began to journal my intake most days. Exercising more then I had been. Drinking more water . Eating less. I wasn't consistent so my reward on the scale wasn't what it would have been. My weight loss goal is about 100lbs.

Jan 1, 2012 I put all my practice into use for the real deal. It's not to hard when you keep up the momentum. For at least 14 days I have logged on, journalled my food, and exercised at least 10 minutes everyday. The Spark tools and community have been awesome. I'm making real progress. Being consistant is key.

My 100 day challenge is 5 fruits/vegies per day and 8 glases of H20. I come close everyday but this activity will really make a differnce. So starting with today I am now challenging me to this goal. Didn't look at the calendar but I think this will take me to about May Day to meet the 100 days. I'm in. Go team!

Hi, I'm Vicki. I live in Titusville, Fl. I'm 55 years old and about 80 lbs over weight. I've been trying for over a year to get my weight down and all I've done is yo-yo back and forth. So I've started a lower carb plan like I did back in the 80's ( I lost 105 lbs in 13 months and kept it off for 18 years), and I'm hoping to get the weight back off over the course of the next 2 years. I'm not nearly as active as I used to be so I know the weight won't come off as fast as it did back then. Plus I've gone into full menopause so my body tends to have a mind of it's own. I lose motivation easily so I'm hoping the team will help keep me motivated to stay on track. Thanks for having me.

Hi everyone, I have joined this team because I needed a little extra push. My name is Maria and I love sp. I have lost between 10- 12 lbs. so far and I have about 40 to go. It has been a little difficult for me to continue my weight loss due to some health issues but I am going to push forward and not give up. I am blessed with a lot of support from sparkpeople and enjoy helping others as well. Good luck to all fellow 100 day challengers. emoticon

Hi! My name is Debbie. I'm 56 with 4 grown children and 1 1/2 grandkids. My first 100 day challenge is to start logging everything that I eat. I have never gotten past 1 week in my entire life. I'll really be amazed at just how much I really put in my mouth. I know that by writing everything down, I will be more apt to lose more weight.

Hi, I put my goal for the challenge up the other day but thought I'd introduce myself here.
I'm 57 have a wonderful husband who I've been married to 32 years, a son who is 31 and my daughter who is 29. I also have a son-in-law and a two and a half grandson, Noah who has brought my husband and I more joy then could have imagined.

I've been on Spark People for a few years and have lost and regained what I lost. I am dedicated to trying my best to be successful with the 100 day challenge. I want and need to for my health to be the best I can be and be around to see my grandson grown. Plus he is now moving non stop!!!

One of the biggest things I want is to achieve AND maintain my weight loss by having healthy eating habits and exercising for the rest of my life.

I look forward to being supportive to others and asking for any and all the support I need a long the way,

Dee emoticon

I am so glad to be a new member on this wonder ful team :) It only took a few moments of exploring the team forum to know that I wanted to become a member.

My name is Megan and I am from Mobile, AL. I am married with 4 dogs. I work at a regional bank as the financial sales rep. I enjoy spending time with my extended family and my friends when I have the time. I also enjoy crafting and watching tv with my hubby when I have spare moments as well.

I first joined Sparkpeople in 2010 and had great success. I was in the best shape of my life and very happy with my job and my life overall. Then some things changed at my job that had a great impact on me and I stopped making my health and my happiness a number one priority. Now, in 2012, I am determined to change that and be resilient despite whatever circumstances I find myself in. I feel like I've found a team that can help me do just that :)

Hello everyone, my name is Barbara and I am 48 years old. I live in TN with my husband of almost 24 years. We have two children, Justin 17 and Rebekah, 12. I am a Christian, work a full-time job and part time business, and work in Children's Ministry at our church! I have 150 pounds to lose, but will be setting small goals of 10 pounds or so. I have been on SP for several years now, have learned a lot, and hoping and praying that 2012 will be the year for me to really jump start my weight loss!

Hi Everyone! My name is Carrie. I am 52 years old and have been married to my wonderful husband for 32 years. I have 4 children and 5 grandchildren (1 in heaven and 1 in due in July). I homeschooled all 4 children and have done daycare for 27 years. I love to sew.

I have struggled with my weight for my whole life. I have lost 20 lbs and want to lose another 80 lbs. My big goal this year is to lose 50 lbs by Aug 5 when my daughter will be married.
I like the idea of having small goals and this 100 day challenge will be great!

Hi! My name is Tina and I am a SAHM to 3 great kiddos: Christian 7 ,Catie 5 and Carter 4. I am blessed to be married to my best friend, Calvin, for the last 18 years. I am a Christian trying to get back on track with God and my health. In joining this team, I am looking to push myself and start healthy habits that I will endeavour to make a permanent part of my life. I have made a list of mini, mid-term, and long range goals and posted it around my computer as a reminder. My overall hopes for the New Year include growing in my faith, getting control of my weight by sticking to an eating and exercise plan, and incorporating healthy habits into my daily life. I will be celebrating my 40th birthday and 20th wedding anniversary in the summer of 2013, so I hope to reach my goals by then. I think this 100 day challenge will get me started in the right direction.

Hi- I'm Karol, new to the team but not to spark. I have lost 120 pounds over the past two- hit a plateau a year ago and have just stuck with that weight loss. Well I say a plateau but the true I started eating enough calories and not exercising enough to lose any more but 2012 is different. I have a different plan to just do it and make this the last year I have to battling getting the pounds off. I will always have to battle keeping them off but getting is another things. I look forward to making friends and being part of the team.

Hi, I'm Elaine, 39, never been married and a Chinese Christian.

I hope to break down this 100 days starting today into weeks, which means 15 weeks for me (approx.). So, in my case, my goal is to exercise at least 4 days each week. My 2nd goal is to be more consistent with my quiet time with God (not just 100 days but for the rest of my life). My 3rd goal is more general and will be an ongoing goal for the rest of my life : to develop the fruits of the Spirit!

My name is Susie, I'm 55, live in a suburb of St. Louis, and have lost 55 pounds so far with Spark, since October of 2010. I'm motivated to get to a healthy weight like I've never felt before, thanks to Spark! I've never been married, although always wanted to be:) but I have a great family who I am very close to. I've been blessed with many friends from each walk of my life from childhood on! I'm retired after 29 years of teaching, most of those years were spent in teaching children with special learning needs. Now I have no excuses for not being able to take care of ME! I'm excited to start my 100 day Streak on January 2: eating 5 fruits/veggies daily and getting 30 minutes of fitness minutes a day!

Our best years aren't behind us, they're ahead of us; especially when health, fitness and positivity are part of our daily life.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I'm Cindi and I have been with SparkPeople for 5 1/2 years. I just turned 62 on Dec. 8. I live in Kentucky and have been married 19 1/2 years. I have 2 grown son's and 1 daughter-in-law to be in the spring of 2012. I fell of the track for most of 2011 and now it's time to get back up on that track. It is my prayer that this team will give me a little help in doing just that.

I am going to start my 100 days on Monday 1/2/2012.

Hi everyone! I'm so looking forward to incorporating healthy habits on a consistent basis.

I am a child of God who loves the Lord, enjoys living by a large bodies of water (Lake Superior and the Gulf of Mexico), and is working diligently to maintain my 100-lb weight loss – a process that took me a little over five years to complete while averaging the loss of a little more than a third of a pound a week.

I continue to track daily, set vigorous goals for myself, and am loving the change of pace that retirement allows me to enjoy.

Hi, I am Pat from TX, I am 62. I guess you can say I am retired. My health is such that I can't work or at the moment drive but I have been turned down for disaiblity twice. I have a lawyer and am waiting for a court hearing with a Social Security judge in the meantime I luckily live with my son, his wife and two of my four grandkids. That helps with expenses greatly since I have no income at the moment LOL. I have several bad auto immune disorders that rear their ugly heads every so often but since I quit working I have been doing much better. I joined Sparks 3 months ago and have so far lost 15 lbs. I stalled out in December but at least didn't gain like have in years past. I am 5 lbs away from hitting the 220's which will be the lowest I have been in 30 years! My goal at the moment is to get into the 220's then 210's ect/ I will be happy if I can get below 200 if that happens I will reevaluate how much more I want to go.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Hello Everyone - I am Lee, from Michigan 65, married and no kids. One spoiled Australian Shepherd. I am a retired RN. I have been on SP for several years, lost about 25# and have been STUCK for 2 years! I hope that 2012 will be a year of motivation and inspiration and am looking forward to the first 100 days! I have decided to start on January 4. I will keep the basic categories of Pray, Eat, Move but will challenge myself each 10 days with a different aspect. To start:
Pray: read my Bible every day with the goal of reading through the entire Bible
Eat: log all food and stay within the SP parameters
Move: exercise at least 10 minutes/day, walk at least 5000 steps.

I am inconsistent and easily discouraged, so I will meet my goal if I maintain 80% each ten days. I am going to keep an online journal and also track my "streaks" in another team.

Looking forward to a healthy and fit New Year with all my new Spark Friends!! emoticon

Hi! My name is Louise and I am 62 years young. I live in Chandler, Arizona and have lived in Arizona for the past 23 years. We are orginally from Kingston, Massachusetts. My husband and I celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary this past November 20th. We have a 33 year old daughter. I am a retired Preschool Teacher. I am about 150 lbs. overweight but started going again to Weight Watchers this past October. I hate to admit it but I got my Lifetime membership from Weight Watchers back in the 1970's. This time I am sticking to the program
for life! I am really excited about doing this challenge!

GOD BLESS!
Louise

Hi all, I am Kim. I am a special educator, teaching middle school students with mild to moderate disabilities, and graduate student, getting my Master's in special education. I also have 5 children of my own, all of whom are involved in sports: soccer, gymnastics, and wrestling. I reached goal about 2 years ago, but have struggled since school started in August. My goals are to get back to regular exercise and drinking water and maintain my healthy eating habits (prior to Christmas!). I will outline the details more in my blog! Great to "meet" everyone!

awesome brother, Nadine, that he would get that for you. Will encourage you to exercise, and the friends I know that go to Curves really like it. I hope the one you go to takes away the jitters and they make your feel at ease and comfortable. Ravyna

Good point Ravyna! I forgot to write it down here.
MOVE. 10 minutes a day 6 days a week. That's not asking too much.
ALSO, I got a free month (well I hope it works out to be a month - depends on how they view the start of the month) at Curves. My brother got it for me. I have an appointment on January 2.
I little nervous and a lot excited. I love my brother. emoticon

Hi, I am Ravyna and I live in Texas, and am 56 years old. I have 3 grown children, one grandson, 21 months old, and a grandchild due in July.
I too want to use your 3 areas to get started.

1. Pray (Bible Study, devotions also). My goal is to read through the Bible in the year Chronologically. I found a reading plan and I want to stick to it. I want to spend time with God instead of watching TV.
2. Eat (2 fruits, and 2 vegetables a day) I want to record it in a journal I started.
3. MOVE. This is my weakest area also Nadine. but how are you going to keep track of your progress if you don't have a set goal. I have not been doing daily exercise, so I am going to go back to 10 mins a day. I am going to move at least 10 mins each day, and not think that it is too little for me. If I do more then that is good.

Hi, I am Nadine from Oregon. I am 57 years old. My 100 day challenge started 12/28/11.
I saw your 100 day challenge and was truly encouraged. I am going to use your 3 areas to improve my weak areas. I thought about thinking up different ones, but really, these are excellent for me.
1. Pray (Bible Study, devotions also). God is my top priority. Time to devote more time to HIM.
2. Eat (5 or more fruits and veggies daily)...I love them, I just don't make them a priority.
3. MOVE. This is my weakest area.
I don't join challenges because we have to report what our losses are. That's hard for me. I struggle to admit my weight to myself. I cannot bring myself to admit it to others. - Yet.
I am over 100 pounds overweight. So I could use some prayers for my health.
Thank you for this do-able challenge for me and I am very, very thankful for this team!
