Huzzah to the Temptation Busters! Woot! I was on here previously as 3rdGeneration1 and was away from spark for a bit because of computer problems and am back with a new determination to bust temptations and get to 125 pounds (reflected in the ticker) by the SUNDAY THAT FOLLOWS THE WINTER SOLSTICE, IF NOT BEFORE!

Hi this is Kathy / in Eldora, IA/ I'm just starting this slow but sure journey to a healthier wieght, and lifestyle. Sweets are my temptation alot, and sometimes the salty stuff too. I do admit it is also the stress in my life that does add to the daily little tweeks in the diet plan. But I tell myself one day at a time, and keep exercising, with my dog most of the time. KEep up that positive attitude too. Kathy.

My addiction is diet soda. Believe it or not, it interferes with my maintaining my weight loss. I gave it up for over a year but little by little I started drinking it again.
I am also an emotional/stress eater.

I love sugar and it rules me at night.cannot rest stay still or get a handle on my cravings to get a donut, candy ect. I gained another pound so 163 and climbing. I know what is wrong but I think at night how pitiful and depressed my life is at 66 and just throw caution to the wind.
What should I do to control my cravings.

Hi, I'm Vicki. I live in Florida. I'm 55 years old and 65 lbs over weight. I've been trying for over a year to get my weight down and all I've done is yo-yo back and forth. So I've started a low carb plan like I did back in the 80's ( I lost 105 lbs in 13 months and kept it off for 18 years), and I'm hoping to get the weight back off over the course of the next year or so. I'm not nearly as active as I used to be so I know the weight won't come off as fast as it did back then. Plus I've gone into full menopause so my body tends to have a mind of it's own. I lose motivation easily so I'm hoping the team will help keep me motivated to stay on track.
I recently gave up all forms of sugar and I think that'll be a big step towards me getting the numbers down. Thanks for having me.

Hi, just joined today because there are times I get weak and drink coke zero at least once a week. I have been spark member for two years next month. I am a mom of five, oldest is 20, 18, 15 and twin girls 14. Married to my hubby for 21 years. I try to exercise at least 40 minutes but haven't been consistent as I was before. I blame coke zero the most.

Hello everyone!

My name is Thom. I'm a college student and I'm looking to get in shape and live a healthier lifestyle. I would say my main food craving as of late has been Dr. Pepper. It's hard to say no too, especially with the vending machine right down the hall from my dorm room. Have successfully avoided the temptation for all of today, which is a small victory. Yay!! :D I actually just started using Sparkpeople and have successfully met my calorie goals for the past 3 days. Another yay!! :D.

More about myself: I'm a social work major at the undergraduate level, although I hope to go to graduate school to get my MSW afterwards. I am very passionate about the profession and about helping others. I have a wide range of interests ranging from music, to movies tv and pop culture, to consumer electronics, bicycling, current events, and random geekery. I am inspired by my interests and other people, and I need all the inspiration I can get because inspiration means more energy to do the stuff I love. :)

Anyway, best of luck to everyone in avoiding temptation and I wish everyone success in their Weight Loss and Lifestyle goals! :)

Hi guys, new to the team and 'lifestyle-change' way fo dieting. I have gone from 100kg down to 77 over the space of 3 years using a variety of fad diets, from Atkins, Dukan etc through to the crazy cabbage soup diet. I still have some more weight to lose to go down to 63 kg and after many failed attempts, fluctuating weight and binges from pure gluttony and temptation, this is my final try to sort out my body and diet forever. Wish me luck guys! Thanks for the support and this great page!

Hello to everyone. I have been enrolled in SparkPeople for about 5 or 6 months, but not faithful to using the benefits. I lost 30 pounds on another weight loss plan in 2009-2012, but have since gained back about 12-15 pounds, depending on the day. I did fantastic on the weightloss program I was on, but then they changed the way they did their plan and I can't seem to get it to work for me. I want to take these pounds off again, and possible a few additional if possible. When I started the weightloss program, I had no specific "goal" in mind, I just wanted to lose weight. Nothing like, an upcoming event or vacation to lose the weight for. Now it seems that I cannot lose weight with an empending event. I am going on a cruise on April first, I wanted to have these pounds off by then, but it just isn't happening. It seems that having the pressure of a deadline makes it so much harder for me. I am not motivated, so therefore I am not losing. Someone, please motivate me!!! I am a binger, once I mess up for the day, that is it, I'm ruined for the rest of the day and sometimes the next few days too thinking, well, I've already ruined the week. I do well for several days to a week, lose 2 or 3 pounds and then binge and gain it back. I am also a severe sweets finatic. I have a weakness for sweets and will out of my way to get whatever I am craving. Help, I need willpower!! If someone has any ideas or suggestions, I am open to them. It is often that I do well most of the day, then in the evening, I blow it. HELP!! I have got to take off the weight I worked so hard to get off in the first place.

Hello all!
I definitely need some help busting temptation!!
Though I will say, logging my food & associating numbers with what I am going to eat, BEFORE I eat it, has an amazing impact.
I just joined SPARK a week ago & already feel that I have made positive steps toward a goal of weight loss, but right now, I am just trying to get into a groove before I expect weight loss.
I appreciate that there is a group out there to support us tempt-ees :~)

Hi, my name is Amber, and I'm a food-aholic. lol
I've decided that my eating habits are bad enough that I need to treat it like I'm in AA. So, here I am and I hope I can make real life changes. I'm staying away from saying that I am "on a diet". Those words always lead to failure. So here I am to start my journey of a healthy lifestyle and I am so glad that I have people to share it with!

Hi, I'm Jo Ann, 59 years young, mother of 4 and grandmother of 1. I am a professional Young Adult Librarian in NJ. I rejoined Spark at the beginning of the year after a year off (a year long pity party after having hip surgery). While I am doing well with my program, I think the idea of getting temptation strategies is a great thing. So here I am! emoticon

Hi I'm Kristen. I'm 37 years old and a mother to a 13 year old son and 6 month old twins! I've always struggled with my weight but I lost 100 pounds a few years ago and have let about 35 creep back on. Even after losing the 100 lbs I'm still quite a ways from where I should be. I'm here to get my mind back in the place it needs to be in order to get healthy again. BTW - I am a serious food addict!!

Hi - I am Tracy and new to this awesome team. Yes, some temptation busters are much needed. I finally threw the leftover goodies away last night that remained on my counter from the holidays. No more snickerdoodles, turtles, cheese straws and eggnog to "manage" into or out of my eating plans! I've lost about 5 pounds and planning to lose least 30 more. I look forward to being part of this team and learning more from you and supportin you in your goals too.

Hi! I'm Kristi. I've been on Spark for a while, but still have a long way to go to reach my ultimate goal. I was looking around the spark teams for new motivation and inspiration and found this one and it looked like a great place as I begin to kick some of my "bad" habits and reach for new healthy habits!
:)

emoticon to the team Annie. It's great to have you on board. I glad you took me up on the offer to join this wonderful team of sparkers like yourself. I think at times we can be our own worst enemies. I sometimes feel the same way you do about sabotaging my own efforts when things are going their best. Just remember each day is a new beginning and a chance to start over and re-evaluate what is working for you and what is not. All the best on reaching your goals. emoticon

Hi I'm Annie and thank you for inviting me to this team. I'm 61 years old and have about 65 pounds to lose to reach my tentative goal. Once I get there I will consult with my Dr to see what my final goal should be. I've been on Sparkpeople a couple of years, but have come and gone a few times. Since August of 2011 though I have been my most consistent.

I am diabetic and the Spark nutrition tracker is a valuable tool for me since it has a diabetic setting.

Temptation strikes me usually when I am doing really well on my program. I look forward to support from this team when that temptation devil strikes. emoticon

Hello my name is Amy and I am the mother of 3 wonderful children that keep me going. I just finished nursing school so I am now trying to get back to "normal" with life and what not! I needed to loose weight before school but now I have to loose even more. I am the worst at eating things I shouldn't, I also have other bad habits like coffee and smoking that I picked up in school too emoticon I know I can do it, just have to get past the first couple days and keep on going, glad to be here!!!!
