LCWATER, I've never pretracked fitness, because it order to make sure I get my 20 miles in for the week I need to track it as I go. I agree that it can be frustrating when watching the leader board, which I did often over the first few months. There always seems to be those one or two individuals at the top that you never can beat, but it is still fun to try. Right?

I don't know about others but I do pre track most days because when I get ready in the morning I know what I'm having for breakfast and lunch too because I usually take a packed lunch to work. But things can change during the day so I have the spark people app on my phone so I can make adjustments during my break if I need to.
I admit, I got the app when it was free but for how much I have used it over the past few years I think it is worth the small cost. So if you have a android smartphone or iPhone I recommend trying it.
Pretracking - I have found for me I do not adjust the variance of the pretrack. Sometimes it is the extra this or that, that does not get logged.
Also when I track actual sometimes at night I will either decide not to have anything else or often the opposite I haven't actually eaten enough.
Also the pretracking on fitness makes me crazy. I understand for some people it works but I wish Sparkpeople could adjust the leaderboards and take off the future dated computation pretracking from members. I really like the leadboard but for most of the month it means nothing because some people put in the whole month or whatever. I really would like to use it as that extra push!!!

I really like the pre-tracking idea. I kept going over on certain things and so I began to pre-track the day. It helped me stay in my limits better as well as upping certain things like protein in my daily diet. I kept going over on the carbs or on fat. So pre-tracking helps a lot!!! In my humble opinion!!!

Pretracking has helped me too. List the things ahead of time that you know you will eat. For example, when you are entering those last things from the night before, add as much as you can for the rest of the day and try to stick with it. Planning=success. WooHoo! Hope this helps!
Keep a written list of your food and then when you have time you can sit and logg it in. That is what I do. And if you happen to eat the same breakfast each morning you just have to copy it from day to day. You'll catch on. Same with exercise. Keep a list and then put it in all at once . This is what I do. excerise more so than food i'm not at all good with that. Keep going your doing well for yourself.

I don't know why but I always start out with the best intentions and then I find myself not checking in daily. Life is so busy and I know I need to do this but I find a day goes by, then another and I haven't tracked. ARGGHH!!! But I will not give up. I will do my best and I guess that's all that any of us can do!!
