Welcome to DAY 4 of my January Jumpstart Fitness Challenge! My name is Kathy, from the Laurel Highlands of PA; I am a 57-yr-old who has had the desire to lose weight for the past 15 years and I have had a lot of starts and fizzles. I am using this challenge to hopefully get some very good habits formed during this first month of a new year. Hopefully this will be MY year. I am realizing more and more how much my health depends upon exercise in my life. Last week I had a day where I had to stand on my feet almost all day without much movement, and my knees hurt terribly (for me, a sure sign that I'm carrying too much weight), but then for the next several days my legs just ached terribly with some swelling. I knew it was time for me to start exercising seriously, or I was going to start having real circulation problems - I recognized the symptoms from family history. After only three days of re-entering the Spark World, I already feel so much better! And of course as I exercise more, I am much more conscious of what goes in my mouth as well. Wish me well, at this age, it's not exactly easy to make lifestyle changes.
