Did anyone apart me from me continue this? I am on level 3now and once again feeling the burn compared to previous level. Its good though I can feel the progress, l1 got easier by the end, same with level 2 and she bumps up the intensity again.
Since doing this I have put on weight this month but lost about 2cm around my waist at least. This month has been extremely tight on budget though, been quite a few carbs, not much protein except from eggs but a lot of veggies.
Be drinking lots of water despite the weird taste from the chemicals the town water has.

I am still doing this. On day 13 so on level 2 now. Feeling the burn again on L2 but its good to change the level, my body wasn't feeling l1 burn as much by the end of the 10 days, With exception to the bicycle crunches.

How about everyone else?

So now I've completed day 4 with 30 day shred, also day 4 spark video and 20 mins cardio.

I agree pizza would have been counter productive. But I don't like pizza anyway except if its home made fresh herb pizza. Stores don't make nice vegetarian pizzas. If he ever suggests that its because I said its his turn to make dinner and he doesn't want to, so I make it anyway so its something healthy.

Anyway, after doing the shred video today, once again I felt great and I decided to do the higher impact or more intense versions of most of the exercises. I wanted to do it again, with exception to the bicycle crunches, but its our anniversary so needed to spend some quality time together.

Maybe instead of marching for the jumping jacks, maybe doing the half jacks that is mentioned in the spark people kickboxing videos. Only if you feel able to of course. Its less intense than full jumping jacks but still more activity than marching.

only done 2 days, today will be 3. My legs are very weak when I'm done, so must be getting something out of it. I do walk at times instead of jumping jacks. to catch my breath.
The pizza would have been counterproductive.... emoticon

So how are we all going with this? I have completed my third day of shred plus 20 mins on my elliptical and day 3 video. Felt great after the 30 day shred, thats when I decided to jump on the elliptical but had to cut it short because had to make dinner. Could have asked partner to do it but probably would have had him suggest pizza delivery or cereal.
Even after 3 days the shred doesn't hurt as much but still feel it especially in my calves during the jump rope.

I just finished day 1 on JM shred. Level 1. My legs are still burning! I didn't think I was going to be able to get up the steps from the basement (exercise room).LOL
I also took a few breaks, like on some jumping jacks, I walked in place. I didn't know what to expect but I think I handled it fairly well. Definitely will stick to level 1 for a good week.

Ok, so just finished doing the 3x8 Minute Cardio Intervals and L1 of the 30 day shred. Feeling a little limp and useless right now, not looking forward to waking up to go to work tomorrow. But it felt good.

Count me in, too. The farthest I got was 22 out of 30 days then had to go away for a week so now I'm starting over. It's a great workout! Even 22 days in it's challenge though I find the secondary challenge is mentally...sticking with something for 30 days is much easier said than done. Good luck everyone!

I tried the JM 30 day shred today; I had to stop and rest a few times, too. You'd think a 20 minute workout wouldn't hurt that good, but I'm sure that's the kick I need, too, so I'm in. Tomorrow I will work it through and every day, count me in!
Good luck to y'all; we can do this!

Good luck with your goals. Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred might just be the kick in the butt needed.

Now, I know she said no resting, but honestly, if you can't breathe, you need to down the tempo otherwise you're doing anaerobic exercises which for someone just starting, can be dangerous to your muscles. If you're done any of the Spark People videos, in these they do a lot of the exercises in the videos, with suggestions on lowering intensity. My suggestion would be to push as much as you can, but if you can't breathe or there is acute pain, lower intensity.

You don't want to be injuring yourself and spend the next few days recovering. Then comes the worst part of not wanting to get back into again for fear of the same pain.

Work hard but don't injure yourself.

CupCakeHarlot, LMAO.I like that. Very unique :)

So, you started the shred 1-2 days ago, right? How's it going? Were you able to complete the video for Level 1? Also, have you determined yet how long you will work throught each video phase, or do you think you will stay on each level until you are able to get through it with ease?

Good luck! Starting 1/1/12.

Hi Colleen,

I will definitely keep this updated but always feel free to send out an email to me personally.
Do open the dvd on Jan 1 and let's get moving. It may be fun to compare results and how we are coming along as we work through the program. I definitely need some small victories along the way (2 lbs, here, 1lb there...)to get me going.

Cheers to a New Year and a new body :)

Hello Friend, I am right there with you. I am starting today. Please know that you are not alone. Feel free to yell out to me if you need someone to just listen and to remind you of your promise to yourself. I am not working right so it will be a little easier for me but I struggle with being lazy and hating to exercise in a gym. I love walking but right now the weather keeps me in at times. Anyway lets do this.

One day at a time..

Hey there, I will join you. You sound just like me. I have no motivation but good intentions. I bought the video JM shred about 2 months ago and it still sits there in the plastic wrap. Lets open them up on the 1st. and go for it. Do you just want to post here on how we are doing?
Happy New Year, Colleen

Hello to you too! Why are you waiting til Jan 1 to start? Something wrong with today? Don't mean to sound like a smart a$$, but you could get a head start on all the New Year's resolutions people. Move your goal up by a couple days.... Just a thought.

Either way, good luck with your plan.

Hello emoticon

Plain and simple, I have let myself go. As petite women, every pound makes a HUGE difference (pun intended).

I do however, solemnly commit to making a difference! I am starting the JM 30 Day Shred on Jan 1, 2013. I am hoping that making this known publicly on this site with others in similar situations with similar goals will propel me into successfully launching and following through with this goal. I am desperate to lose weight and get healthy and I am tired of making excuses for myself. I am also a total and complete junk food junkie with very little to no will power. I work a lot, exercise not, and 30lbs I vow to drop! (Feel trapped inside a Dr. Seuss book, no?) LOL.

Seriously, please help/join me in being accountable and making a real change in the New Year!

Best~
