Set some small goals that you can meet right off the bat ! It will help you get going in the right direction. Some like, drink 8 glasses of water daily. walk around the house inside or out for 15 mins. Read the different articels that are recommended when you start out. These may sound small, but they become bigger as you get going. It is so good to feel that your making progress right off the top of your game Am I right ? Sure!
You have what it takes to make healthy lifestyle changes ! Buddy up and pick just a few Teams to join at first. Nothing more than 5 to begin with.
And remember there are no stupid questions, except those that you don't ask !!!

OOO MrsBuckeye, that is such great advice. I thought I was such a big water drinker until I started tracking. Then I found out...not so much. NOW I am LOL.
The other amazing thing I track is sodium. I am flirting with high BP so I have to watch that. Wow, some days I am way over without even realizing that I had anything out of the ordinary. I am loving the tracking capabilties on this site. It is awesome seeing my workout minutes jump ever day!

to our SP family .... you may find that we listen/hear you a lot better than your own family (oh wait - guess I was talking about mine !!)
If nothing else - be responsible every day to put in what you eat during day, including how much water and fruits (top row, trackers, nutrition). That's what first thing that'll become second nature to you. Then go on to the Fitness tracker .. there again, it'll become second nature. Even if no one else ever knows what you've done - YOU'LL know and you'll walk around like a peacock ... oh so proud of herself AND YOU SHOULD BE

You have come to the right place. I love SP! Get involved in teams, challenges, etc. and it will really help you and keep you motivated. Take the time to really get to the know the site...you will be amazed. It's almost overwhelming at first, but it is so worth it. In the end, you have to do the work, but you will find some great people on this site to help cheer you on.
Welcome. Every journey starts with the first step. Believe in yourself, be honest with yourself, be consistent in your efforts on food intake and exercise efforts, forgive yourself when you do less than your best and get right back on track. You can do it. Best of luck.

Hello everyone, I am new and I am kind of shy and don't know what to say but I have been to the Dr recently and the only thing they could tell me was that I need to lose weight.I have heard this many times but this time it really "hit home" . I know I need to lose weight. It's extremely hard for me. I want to make a difference in myself its just going to take some time. I need encouragement, I've got some motivation.
