Hello.
The new college semester started in August and my priorities changed.
I need to make my health a priority again. I'm hoping this challenge will get me physically active again. My doctor wants me to walk for 30 minutes at least three times a week. Since this challenge has me doing cardio 5 times a week, I'm ahead of the game. Looking forward to being successful.

Hi everyone! My name is Olivia and I love these challenges, although I don't think I have done this one before! I am excited to start! I have been on Spark for many years and lost a lot of weight and unhealthy habits along the way. I have been totally unmotivated the past 8 months though and have gained almost 15 pounds emoticon . My clothes don't fit well anymore and I am uncomfortable. So....it's time to get my butt in gear and start anew!! I am also attempting to quit smoking so this should be very interesting!

Hello everyone!

I signed up for this challenge in January, but then life happened. Now I'm back and determined to make April my month. There is a lot going on this month, but I think I can do it. My biggest problem before was being embarrassed to do the videos in front of my family.With two very athletic teens in the house I was intimidated. But they've been so encouraging the last several months about my weight loss I think I can do this now!

I'm also very shy about posting and discussions. I get it that getting involved can help with encouragement, it's just hard to make myself break into a group.

Well, I started off in this challenge pretty strong. completed week one without any trouble. Things have been crazy around my place the last few weeks but, I haven't been doing nothing. I have been going 3 nights a week and working out with a group that does P90X, P90X3, Insanity and T25, among other workouts. So, while I have been slacking on logging on to sparkpeople, I haven't bee slacking on my workouts. :-)

Welcome new sparkers!
I will have to say what works best for me is to concentrate on the nutrition. Exercise is important to living a healthy life but the biggest thing for me was to make sure I ate the right way and the right amount. The nutritional tracker is key to success as far as I am concerned. I still have the same 15 lbs I have been trying to take off but I have lost most of the weight due to eating and staying in my calorie range. I have learned to love exercise (most days) and how much more awake and good I feel because of it.

Deepositive and Joanna-I too have hypothyroidism (along with a nervous system disorder). In fact I have recently been going back and forth between hypo and hyperthyroidism. Not fun. BUT...losing weight CAN be done even with this. Once you are on your medicine and feeling a bit more energy it will happen! You can do this!

My name is Dianna I've been a member here for some time however just I've just REALLY gotten motivated and have been taking advantage of all the great tools here.
My goal are as follows:
*To stick to a low carb, gluten free nutrition plan
*Exercise at least 10 minutes per day-this has been key because I can always do at least 10 minutes and often do more (It's helped me so much w the excuse I just don't have time)
* To protect my sleep and cherish as opposed to what I usually do is push to do one more thing
* To lose 100 lbs however I'm focusing on the first 30 so as not to get overwhelmed

This has been helping me get organized in every aspect of my life!

There are more however that's a start. I love this challenge and look forward to all our success.
