I started out well on this challenge - then life took over and there was no time to do much of anything, so I fell off again. Starting over in Feb....

Did my weekly weigh-in/ measurements. I was able to maintain my weight/ inches previously lost over the holiday season. HOORAY !!!! Our local mall has started a "Walking Club" through our Parks & Recreation Dept. And they do weekly drawing for prizes,as well. The Club has set a Million Minute Challenge for all the walkers...and we are at 900,000!!!! SO grateful to have this free, fun indoor option during the crazy up's & down's of a typical Midwestern winter !!!!!

Hi. I've been a member of Spark on and off through the years. I need to lose the weight to get off my blood pressure medicine and my cholesterol medicine and others. I have a back injury so have been unable to do any form of exercise. I'm doing a procedure tomorrow and then again next month...hoping this will finally be the thing that eases the pain so I can exercise and be in less pain. It's been a long 4 years. I would like to lose 40 pounds, but more than anything I would like to be HEALTHY and make HEALTHY choices for a lifetime. I'm 48...it's time.

Hi! I'm Katherine, a 59 year old female living in the Dallas TX area. Recently my employer made 24/7 gym memberships available to all the employees including us contractors. So I used that momentum to get past my excuses and start going to the gym again. Then I decided to try to reconnect with Spark People, too. This jump start is just what I need. I really am most interested in getting into better shape, but if I am really honest with myself, I need to lose at least 70 pounds. I am pre diabetic and do not want to go down that path - want to reverse things. So here I am.

Hello from the Greenbay Packer state! It is cold and frigid here. But I got my exercise shoveling today. I did the workout from Sparkpeople last night; the walikng one. I also did 10 minutes of arm exercises too. i am very weak yet since I have not been working out in over a year. last year I fell and broke my wrist and let everyrthing go then.

My name is Amanda and I have been a member with SP since 2008, obviously not always on my game. I have been doing the 5% Challenges for a few years but was pregnant and had my daughter and really haven't been participating on a competitive level for a long time now. My goal is to start the losing early this year and stay as focused as possible to improve my overall health and wellness as well as to build muscle in all the right places. LOL

Hi !!! I live here in the ever changing climate known as " Iowa". It is a bitterly cold morning ( -27 with the wind chill...brr!!! ) I have been working on a healthier lifestyle since September 2014 & already have seen some good results. excited to get serious using SparkPeople in 2015. I LOVE walking outside but am grateful for all the amazing videos from Coach Nicole.

Hi. I'm Cassandra, but my Sparkpeople username is Sunshine0612. I'm new to this team and challenge, but not to Sparkpeople weightloss program. I'm trying to get my healthiness back for 2015. Which is my beginning start again. I'm a Detention Officer at a county jail. I work 5:00 p.m. -5:00 a.m. on rotating shift. I've been employed there for 1 year and 10 months. I'm looking forward to getting started with my exercise regimen and healthy eating again. I will be starting the challenge on January 5, 2015. Good luck to everyone and have fun as well, while we work towards becoming healthier individuals for ourselves and our loved ones.

Yeah, January! trying to be gluten and sugar free, not to just hop on the bandwagon, but my doctor says my belly weight I've not been able to loose may be helped with a gluten free diet. I've been doing T25 workouts for 5 weeks now, and not lost a pound. I'm getting stronger, but need to try something new. Anyone have any tips on eating low-gluten diet in a non gluten free household, please offer support.

I am brand new to sparkpeople and excited to start my new year off with a healthier mindset. Stress is a stumbling block for me and I am a full time student trying to get settled in after a cross country move. So I may need "moon shoes" to jump over those stumbling blocks! LOL Look forward to meeting others on the same journey and finding encouragement within each other.

I am new to this team. Been a member of Sparks for a long time although only since Sept have I become more regular. I seem to do ok with exercising, but my weight is another story. Since Christmas gained 3lbs. I am starting tomorrow on this challenge. I am confident I will succeed.

I am a long time sparker who has been stuck in the doldrums for way too long. I am a very slow loser due to many things - my age, my thyroid and my desk job to name three of them! I need to restart the program to get off this plateau.

I see lots of returning Sparkers (Hi Amy!) and lots of newbies. It really helps us to get to know you if you create a spark page and make it public. I love getting goodies and messages on my page from fellow sparkers. It helps to keep me going!

Lets ROCK this challenge!

Hello! I've just joined this challenge. I kicked off my weight loss adventure on Dec 28th so that it wouldn't be a New Years Resolution. I've never kept one yet and didn't see why it would be different for me this year :).

So this non-resolving girl is taking it slow and steady this time around. Like many of you I've been here before, but this time I'm looking at everything with a fresh perspective. Usually I just want to go extreme and get it done as fast as possible. Of course this always leads to burn out and quitting. This time I'm taking it slow and I know this will be a long term (like life time) change.

I'm looking for a few friends to cheer on and to cheer me on in turn. Add me if you're looking for the same!

One year. One hundred percent commitment. One hundred pounds.

I don't run at all so you have me beat! emoticon Lots of congrats: job, house, etc. Don't be too hard on yourself, it is difficult to be consistent with so many recent changes You will build new habits/routines and will get back to where you want to be. emoticon

Hi. I'm a 42 y.o. mother married and have 3 kids ages 8, 4, and 4..yes, twin boys. I just started a new job as a school nurse in a middle school Sept 2014, and unfortunately, I gained 8 lbs. Hoping to get back in the groove again. Overall, had been exercising consistently for a few years, but this past 3 to 4 mos. had to reduce it, because of job. I feel kind of disgusted with myself, but I can't blame myself too much. Didn't really have access to my scale this past 2 mos, because we also just moved to a new house. Plus, the holidays and sweets don't help, and I got into this bad habit of eating late at night mostly due to stress/boredom. Signed up for a 1/2 marathon in March, but with my increased schedule don't know if I can do it since I only run a 15 minute mile..yes, slow as dirt. Anyway, am here with you. Keep all the good work! Happy New Year everybody! emoticon

Hi! I'm thinking using videos will be a good idea now that the weather makes it too cold to take my morning walks. I need to 'get serious' and have a plan...this sounds like a good one! I did a Leslie Sansone Walk away the Pounds video today; I guess I should have made this decision sooner! I will catch up tomorrow!

Never give up!

Hi everybody! I'm Linda and I'm 36. I've been using sparkpeople for a while but i fell off my routine for a bit. I figured this would be a good way to get back into the groove!

Hi I'm Tara. I have used spark people for a few years but it has been off and on. Like losing weight I find myself losing the motivation to stick with it. I will admit that I lack self motivation, and that defiantly is a down fall to any progress I make. I need a change that's for good. One that I can stick with and that I don't feel myself getting bored with what I'm doing. I need to get healthy, and to stick with it. However, I may need a lot of help along the way!

Hi. I'm Rohanna. I had been losing weight steadily and very commited to spark people up until last July or so, then life got in the way, the work out group I was a part of disbanded and I completely fell apart! I'm joining this challenge to get my ass back in gear and for much needed motivation!!

Hi everyone! I'm Catherine. I wanted to start the new year out on the right foot. I've had 5 weeks of consistent 90 minute a week exercise but I want to take it up a notch. This is the perfect challenge to get me going in the right direction!

Hi, my name is Gill. I have joined this challenge because I need to take exercise more seriously! I do yoga, walk a lot, swim occasionally - but am not very good at keeping up with cardio and strength-training. I am hoping this challenge will set me up right for the year.

I'm an active member of the 100 Days of Weight Loss team - we've started the 100 Days today (my second time through) - this is about changing the reasons WHY we eat (emotional reasons) and I've managed to change my behaviours and self-talk for the better by going through this book.

I recently joined the Weekly Challenge team - because sometimes I need someone to just tell me what to do - otherwise I do nothing!

I belong to the 100 Streak team - where I track daily yoga & walking.

I've recently started using the Nutrition Tracker again - to try to get my intake right.

Hello! I am a mom of three children two boys ages 11 & 13.5 and a girl 9yrs old. I am 39 years old, divored (and single). I have rhuematoid arthritis and have had a problem with my weight and over eating my entire life. I am a food addict. I used SP about 7 years ago and lost 53 pounds, but gained all the weight back. I was sad to weigh myself for the first time in a long time the day after christmas to find I weighed about 5 pounds more than my heaviest when I did SP previously.
I want to get healthier and I am hoping that this jumpstart fitness will help put me in the right direction.
HAPPY NEW YEAR emoticon
