Hi everyone!!
Im Jennine, I am really exited to have joined you all. I have been doing this for almost a week now and so far it seems really great, still figuring my way arround the site. I eat healthy and I have been working out everyday!!! shock horror!! I don't have many spark friends right now so that's kind of sad. Hope you all have a great day x

Hi, just a quick intro. I'm 66 years old and wearing the post menopausal "inner tube"!!!! I keep trying to exercise and diet to loose the weight and inches around my middle to no avail. I'm hoping this challenge will give me the boost I need to succeed! Living in Northern NY I have done a lot of down hill skiing but not much walking (i e cardio out side). Now that spring is trying to arrive I hope to get out more and do my cardio in my neighborhood.

Hi from Port St. John, FL (near the Kennedy Space Center)! I wanted to join this challenge because I rejoined Weight Watchers in January and so far am down 17 lbs. (as of last Saturday’s weigh-in). I’m hoping with SparksPeople and WW, I can reach my goal and maintain.

Howdy! I just finished this challenge for the first time. It took me six weeks due to illness and a hectic work schedule, but I finally did it. I lost ten pounds and I'm back in the habit of regular exercise after being a couch potato for several years...so the only sensible thing to do is to start the challenge over, right? So here I am: Week 1, Day 1, Take 2.

Hello everyone. I am doing this for my health (obviously) but also because I realized that i need to cut back and focus on one thing at a time. I have a tendency to go overboard in an all or nothing frame of mind. This seems like a great opportunity to take things one thing at a time.

Hi everyone... I am Carrie.... decided that I have worked at documenting my meals and exercise and needed to find a goal to motivate me. Hoping that by holding myself accountable to others will give me that extra "spark" to keep going. So far I have dropped 11 pounds and feeling very good about the lifestyle changes I have made. Also trying to get some of the girls at work to join in and one did. This way we can resist some of the snacking and such that goes on together.

Hey Everyone,
My name is Amber Clarke. I never really had a problem losing weight until I hit 33. Then, I noticed that I was not only having trouble losing weight, even though I hadn't changed my eating or active lifestyle, but I was also moody, couldn't sleep, not interested in my husband (if you know what I mean) and so tired during the day. I figured it was stress and possibly the lack of sleep that was causing me to feel so horrible...until I started noticing other things. Excessive sweating in the middle of the night for no particular reason, hot flashes and changes in my monthly cycle. It was horrible! I was experiencing WAY early signs of menopause. I'm only 34....so I had to ask, "is this normal?". I started taking Amberen about 2 1/2 mo.'s ago and my hormones, I am happy to say, are behaving, but I'm still having a really difficult time losing much weight. Anyone else out there experiencing this kind of thing and could you please help me with some suggestions on how to lose weight when you have physiological issues like imbalanced hormones, early menopause and Fibromylagia (FMS)?? Thank you so much!

Hi everybody! I actually started this challenge a few weeks ago and did the first few days, but then both my kids got really sick one after the other and I stopped and didn't get right back to it. I rejoined the team, and I'm ready to stick to it. My husband agreed to be my cheerleader this time, which will really help! I gotta lose this baby weight!

I joined this challenge at the beginning, but just had not gotten around to introducing myself. I know I'm very late, but I have been doing and enjoying the challenge. I am finding out how much better I feel physically, mentally, and emotionally when I exercise regularly. A challenge helps keep me more accountable. If I take a challenge, I am determined to meet it if at all possible.

I am going to do it this time. I have signed up for this at least 2 other times, and ended up traveling each time (including a trip to Houston 1-15 – 1/18). I have no more travel booked until April, so I intend to get serious about turning the pattern on my health, and this is the first of many little steps. My name is Kimberly, and I am a single mom of an amazing 10 year old in Arvada CO. I work as an IT Asset Manager for a local electrical co-op. I have had great success with spark in the past, and am looking to get my engine revved with the passion I had for this before. Here we go……………….

Hello, I'm 38 and a mom of 4. I decided about 3 years ago to go back to school for Physical Education and Health teaching and in the process I gained an additional 40 pounds. My goal weight is 135 but I'm taking it one day at a time. I love to exercise but I love to eat. I tend to overeat especially if the food is good. Now, that I track my food I'm am more aware of my eating habits. I want to have more energy for my children and teach them by example. I love support, especially by people who can relate and are going through the same thing.

Joining a little late, but BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, right?
Exercise seems to be key to my success. I love the challenge format because it changes things up and makes it interesting. Looking forward to adding something new to my routine.
I'm thinking I might try the video workouts after work. I am most successful with exercise when I get up early and get 'er done. I'll continue to do my cardio then, but add the challenge video in the afternoon. That is a time when my energy lags and my willpower plummets. Maybe a little workout will get me back on track.
Every healthy choice I make opens up doors of opportunity for me.

Hello. I just started my first real diet on Monday January 21, 2013. I am doing the 17 day diet and also using sparkpeople as my motivator and guide. I will be following this diet for as long as I can, and then I will be completely converting to sparkpeople :) I am a 24 year old woman living with my boyfriend(who is also on the diet with me). I weigh 225lbs and stand at 5'4'', the most I have ever weighed in my life. I am ashamed. My goal weight is 135. So I have 90lbs to lose. I have had back problems my whole life, and they only have worsened the bigger I have gotten. I also in the past year have become and insomniac. I recently have been sleeping better because of this diet I do believe. But that is all I could babble all day. Thank you!!

Hello! I'm just looking to better myself and being healthier is my goal. Alone with diet and exercise I also decided to quit smoking. I enjoy reading about other members stories because it's nice to know I'm not alone. Losing weight is not always easy but it can be easy to give up. I just want to be healthy and happy.

I was just about to start week 2 when I got sick last week, so today, even though I'm not 100% quite yet, I have started over. Day 1 week 1, it would've been nice to be healthy & on track since the beginning, to be a lucky Kindle winner, but that's not why I do this. I do this for me and my health. :) Here we go............!

you go girl and dont be so hard on your self, I have slowly over 19 years put on this weight, I just had my 25th anniv. and my wedding dress looked like my thigh would fit the waist!!!lol but my husband says yes I was that small probably an 8 now 22! I have lost and kept off 30lbs over the last 6 years or so I can maintain so I have hope when I hit my goal I will be able to maintain it. take it one day at a time thats what I am going to do. if we stumble then do better the next thing that goes into our body, or exercise on the commercials at nite do you realize by getting up and walking in place or other easy exercises you can do on each commerical break which are about 3 min each adds up to alot in 1 hour!!! I challenge you to try it tonight you probably would get in your 30 min for the day. let me know how you do tonight

My name is Jennifer and I live in Pittsburgh, PA with my husband and 3 sons (10.12.16). I know I am starting this late, but I figured it was better to start late than never. I have gained more weight than ever in my life and really need to begin again to make better choices and get into shape. I am nervous, as there have been many times that I thought I was going to succeed and then ended up sabotaging myself, but with a BMI of 41, family history of heart disease, and multiple chronic health issues made worse by excess weight, I cannot afford to stay where I am. I know that my health problems will mean adapting some of the exercises, but at this point I have been doing no exercises at all for months, so I figure that even a milder version will be a huge improvement for me. Good luck to everyone in this challenge!

Hello Everyone. I am just starting everything Spark People. I have decided it is time to stop "lurking" and trying to do this solo and just jump in and do this thing. Even though I am staying within my calorie range, my body has not decided to let go of any fat yet.I have 70 pounds to get rid of and this jumpstart is just the thing I need. I am not used to posting and blogging but I have to start somewhere.

Hi, My name is Penny. I've also been on SP for a little over 2 years. I love doing these Fitness Challenges! They ask you to just do 10 minutes a day, and it's hard to say you can't spare 10 minutes for a healthier you. This will help me get back into exercising at home regularly. With the holidays, long hours at work and taking the time to try and socialize 2 adult feral cats, I've had a hard time forcing myself to exercise after work. This will help me get back on track and remember that I do have the time for myself!

Hi everyone! My name is Celeste and I have been on and off here for almost 5 years. I am really starting to get into the "healthy happy lifestyle" and am trying to make a complete overhaul on my diet and exercise since my diet was in the dumps and my exercising was only one walk per week with my dog. I am very excited and working my way through the 30 Day Shred which is one of my New Year's resolutions to make it all the way through. I also injured my knee a couple years ago and still have pain and weakness but am working on that. I will stick to this January Fitness :) and hopefully that will lead into February fitness. Let's keep each other motivated Good Luck everyone!

Hi! My name is Melanie and I've been using Sparkpeople for about 2 years now. When I first started I lost 25 lbs. I injured my knee a year ago and had to stop exercising for a few weeks. Unfortunately that did me in and I have not been able to motivate myself to get back to exercising regularly. My niece is getting married in May and I am determined to shed the last 25 lbs by then!

Hi! My name is Christina and I am just starting this challenge and have high hopes! I want to get myself in shape to run a half marathon in May, but more want to get into a healthy and happy lifestyle. I know with hard work and support I can make it through!
Started off by doing the day 1 video and worked up a little sweat! Feels fabulous! Now to add this to my current exercise routine and I'm sure I'll see results in no time :)

I joined this team about 2 weeks ago, and then last week got so sick I ended up missing almost a whole week of workouts, so I just "un-joined" and then joined again, and am starting all over.. Just felt like the right way to handle it!!

Hi! My name is Mina and this is my second time loosing weight with SparkPeople! I lost 30 lbs in 2010 and maintained for a year, but then I lost my job, and the weight quickly came back. My life is pretty much back to normal and I realize it's time for me to get back to taking care of ME! So, here we go! In 2010 the single best thing for me was being a part of a team that held each other accountable every day and showed running totals at the end of the week for things like water, fiber, and workout time. If anyone would like a buddy, please let me know!

Hi guys I am Megan I know that I too have a long journey ahead of me. I am new to sp and I am looking forward to doing this. I have tried to do this on my own and it never works out for me I am hoping that talking to others with this goal will help me this time.

I don't feel alone. There are a lot of us starting over. Or should I say, continuing the long journey ahead. Looking forward to seeing some at the end of the journey.
I think I can. I know I can. I will.

But then my hubby was home this weekend and he wanted to go out (I knew it was to soon yet) But I am back up now and not as good this week 21.5, but I am not giving up As for the exercise I have kept that up good 6 miles or more a day stationary bike (that really helps when the temps are this cold!) Hi everyone. My friend introduced me to Spark People and its been really great. I love all of the support and inspiration at such a low cost. I previously was a WW subscriber and lost 25lbs. The last year has had alot of chaos and uncertainty. Which has led to the weight coming back. So i have renewed my focus and am ready to get back on the wagon. Since starting SPARK People two weeks ago i have lost 5.2 lbs. I have also shared the program with a few friends, which also helps to motivate me. Thanks for the support.

Hello Team! I am new to Spark and glad I found this challenge! I have been getting my eating under control, but not exercising yet. This sounds like a great way to get started. I saw the 30 mins of cardio and was glad to see that you can start with 10. So that's my goal for this week - much more doable than 30 mins right off the bat.

HI all, restarting my healthy lifestyle journey again. Got in gear yesterday, went to the grocery store, bought a ton of fruits, veggies and lean protein. Rtd home and spent the next two hours, dicing and slicing to make a bunch of stirfrys I can take to work. Logged my food yesterday and today and tomorrow will start on the activity. Looking forward to meeting you all. cheers, b

I have been on Spark people for a few years. I lost around thirty pounds and re-gained most of it back. Now, Sparkpeople says that I have lost only ten pounds. I tried the first week of this challenge last week but failed to get the extra ten minutes of cardio in for five days. So, I am trying again. I still find that the calorie counting is the hardest part for me. I will trying to see if I can get myself to start counting again.

Hi Everyone! I was on sparkpeople for a while now, but I never joined any teams, not wanting to be accountable. I now realize that I had been setting myself up for failure, because I had never been 100% serious about weightloss. Now, I am completely serious and ready. I spent last year wanting to lose weight and now I am doing it. I love the fact that I can FEEL myself getting stronger. That's the most amazing part. I wish everyone well on their journey. Let 2012 be the last year that we stayed off the beach or stayed home not enjoying our lives.

Hi everyone!
I'm a little late jumping in on this challenge but I'm here! I have kind of fell off the wagon and been a little lazy with my exercising. I found this challenge and decided this is what I need to get back on track.

I joined SparkPeople last year, then in August I guess I fell off the weigh-loss wagon and got ran over by it!! I decided this past weekend when I realized I was in denial and had actually gained 15 of the 9 pounds I lost last year (yes, that is correct). I need some motivation and a 'fresh start' so I can lose 40 pounds.

Hi, I've been on Spark since 2007. I lost weight and gained it back. I decided to start posting again just in time to start this challenge. Thanks to this challenge, I am down 7 pounds after the first week.

Greetings from Chicago! I am excited to participate in this challenge because sometimes you need that extra push to get to your goals. I get bored very easily doing the same thing everyday or using the same tactics. So, this site will give me that extra motivation.
