Cucumber + ginger + lemon will be great for your cold. I like watermelon juice for hot days here in Florida. Watermelon + strawberry + red grape is my favorite juice of all time. It is very sweet like dessert and kicks my sugar cravings every time. You can add a handful of greens to pretty much anything :)

Last night I tried one of Joe's recipes from his website. Passover juice. I had red grapes and ginger so I just needed to buy blackberries. It's very sweet and next time I think I'll run the pulp through a second time. There was a lot left in there moisture-wise I think. I had a cup this morning and a cup for a mid morning snack. Moving onto some veggies this weekend.

And that tastes good? What quantities do you use? I'll check out Joe Cross' Pinterest board for some recipes but I'm looking for some good starter recipes that include greens. I don't want to shock my digestive system.

I'm currently getting my butt kicked by a cold so hoping to find something to help with that too.

Good Morning,

I like to use mainly greens in my juices. But that's to keep my sugar level even. Since I am not eating alot of protein I don't want my sugars bouncing off the chart and I also want to lose as much wt as possible. So if I want sweet I do Kale, spinach, celery, a cucumber, an orange, an apple, and grapes which add a little more sweet to the juice. I am stoked about juicing since I am down 37 pounds since May 1st. I have a really good support group at home. But I was also over 300 lbs to start. Anyway Happy Juicing

Wow! That is AMAZING!!! And soooo encouraging!!!

I opened up my juicer last night and juiced for the first time. I did 1.5 lbs of organic carrots and a small chunk of ginger. I wouldn't want to drink it 24/7 but I had a cup of it for a snack this morning. I'd like to do something with fruit. What's a good first recipe to try that includes greens? Any suggestions?

Good Morning,

I am so excited I can't even stand it. Today is Day 12 of my juice fast and I am down 21.4 pounds. I know that alot of that is because I was so heavy to start with, but thats OK. I will take another picture this week. My husband says he can see it all over. My face, my shoulders, my stomach and legs. I have yo yoed 10-15 pounds so long and this is the easiest
thing I have ever done. I really am not hungry. Yes I still want to eat,, but I am not crazy for food. I am so close to being under 300 I can taste it. I haven't weighed that in 8 years. I feel like the little engine I think I can, I think I can. I will do it. I also wanted to share the blog site from Reboot with joe has many people on sharing their stories and tips on staying on track and alot of people do 60 days. Anyway Good Luck and talk with you soon.

The recipe I use is my own, but I will go to the store for some broccoli and take note of how much of the ingredients I use.

I'm a vegetarian. My diet has been horrible over the last few years and I've gained a lot of weight. I need to make some broccoli soup, but for the meantime, I bought it. Do you mind sharing your recipe?

Keep me updated on your progress SFISHOME. So what type of diet do you do when you are not juice fasting? I am thinking that I will continue with the vegan with the juicing. At this time though I should concentrate on one day at a time. You will have to share your broccoli soup recipe. I make a soup that I call Shek Pond Scum Soup that the kids even eat even though it is full of spinach and broccoli.

Personally, I think what you are doing is just fine. If you drink the juice and eliminate junk food, you are 1,000 steps beyond most people. What matters is what you can stick to. I did a strictly juice fast for eight days last summer and it was too much. Now, I'm being a bit more relaxed about it. If I have a couple of almonds, I'm not beating myself up. I am also having some broccoli soup (no dairy). If I feel the need to eat, I'm eating celery. I'm hoping I can carry this on for more than eight days.

BTW, I'm also gluten intolerant. It's rough.

Hi, I just got a juicer last month after watching the Fat, Sick, and nearly Dead DVD. I have been using it daily for 2 meals and having veggie soup for lunch. I've been thinking about doing the full fast which is why I joined this group. I see a lot of people starting the fast, but I have to wonder how many have really finished. Perhaps, I should just stick with what I am doing. I really don't know if I could go all the way juicing. I mostly do the mean green. I find it tasty, but I have been staying away from sugars for a while, so I am assuming my taste buds have already gotten used to stuff that isn't so sweet.
I am horribly overweight and losing weight is almost impossible since I have thyroid issues and PCOs. I am also gluten sensitive which I believe is what messed up my endocrine system in the first place.
Anyway, if there is anyone here who has finished, I guess I would like to hear how it went. Right now, I am thinking that I should just stick to what I am doing since I am not having a hard time staying the course.
Any opinions would be appreciated.
