My name is Amber, I am 35 years old, and I have a 9 year old daughter named Meadow. I had lost a total of 61 lbs over a 3 year stretch and met my goal weight of 128 last February. But while going through a divorce I have not made the most healthy decisions for myself over the past year so I gained back 32 lbs. I am ready to get this weight off (again) and fit back into all my clothes that are in my closet.

I was a big fan of MyFitnessPal for several years but then I found Spark People and decided maybe a change is what I really need to motivate me again and I LOVE it!

Hi all, as dieters I know we all love numbers, so here are my significant numbers:

Im 32, I have 2 kiddies.
Im 5ft 6".
Im a size 14-16 (uk sizes)
I used to weigh 208lbs.
At my lightest I was 136lbs.
Currently weigh 156lbs and hoping to be 138ish for Summer.

I weigh myself daily but my weekly weigh in is on Tuesdays. :)

Summer is coming!! Get off your rump!

I have been always wanting to have the best of the abilities to get back into shape. I have attempted a lot of times to do this but I ended up eating and eating. Eating junk foods, eating at fast foods. Now, I had that problem of high total cholesterol, high uric acid, high SGOT and high SGPT.

I am so much worried now and I want to take back track of my diet and start exercising all over again.

I am being worked up to have gastric bypass surgery in the near future but I am required to loose 15-20 lbs before the doctor will perform this surgery. I am 59 yrs old and have many health problems i desperately need to loose this weight for health reasons. I would like to weigh in on Sundays

Hi, I am 43 years old. I am trying to lose about 10 pounds, by March 28. I only weigh in on Fridays. In an effort to not get totally frustrated, I am working on a healthier lifestyle; more water, walking more, counting calories and cutting back on caffeine.

Hi! I am a 34 mommy to 2 boys under 4. Although I do have a weight loss goal, it isn't as important to me as building muscle. When I first started trying to lose the baby weight, I focused on the scale, which is ok. The numbers didn't budge for me so I researched what I could add or change. I realized that I wasn't willing to eat less and do more cardio, so I started adding strength training (more muscle = higher metabolism). My new goal is to build muscle by lifting heavy weights. No more pink 5lb dumbbells for me, more like barbells and kettlebells. I stopped doing cardio, sort of. I still walk if it is functional like taking kids to school, etc. If I go to the gym, it is for the barbell. I have actually hit my first clothing size goal (which is only one size larger than my ultimate goal) without losing a single pound. Instead of focusing entirely on the scale, I started focusing on how I feel and look in my clothes. I changed my body composition to less fat and more muscle. I may not be as tiny as I used to be, but my arms have no jingle to them and I can now move more like a kid than ever before. My arthritis has improved, and my flexibility is almost like what it was when I took ballet, minus the splits lol.

Anyway, so all I am trying to say is, I use the scale but it isn't as important to me as it used to me :)

Hi all, In October 2013, I had my 59th birthday and decided that the next decade of my life needed to be much healthier, more active and at a lower weight. I have been on a weight loss journey for over a year now. During that time I have lost almost 30 pounds. The holidays were tough and I found myself reverting back to some bad habits. I still have more to lose, so I needed to kick start my efforts. I am hopeful this will do the trick!

Hello , i am Lorejae and have been here before, but a lot of changes have come in the time I was gone.I have been on this yoyo roller coaster of weight loss and am very frustrated. I have tried different diets and as usual it is up and down.I remarried in '09, my first husband passed away in '05.I have 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grand children. I work out at a health spa called snap fitness, with my husband. I also walk, and love to ride my bike, and dance.I try to cook and eat healthy, My husband is diabetic and other health problems. My name is Debra and I have been using SP for two weeks now and have been doing well. It really helps! My goal is to lose 50 lbs. by the end of the year. My name is Tammy. I have been a member, constantly falling off of the wagon, since 2009.
I am trying to lose 56 lbs and keep it off for good! I usually do very well and then something happens where I go on a small celebration binge and goodbye thin, hello fat! It is so depressing! Hi! I'm Laura, I've been a member of SparkPeople for many years, took a break during the past 2 years. I lost 12 kg the first time, went from 59kg to 47kg (I'm 5'4''). 2 years ago I sprained my ankle while running. That was actually the beginning of a list of health problems that kept me away from any sports for an entire year. I gained much of the weight back as a result (I was up to 55 kg). The rest of 4 (now I am back at my starting weight of 59 kg) I gained them through emotional eating, mostly frustration I think, because my health wasn't improving and I couldn't workout (I love working out, always have).
Anyway, now I am finally back, at a beginner's pace, 15-30 minutes a day of low impact activity. I wanna go back to my diet. My weight isn't super high, I know, and 47 kg was too low and I don't wanna go back there. My ideal is 54kg, but honestly,right now I am striving for eating healthy and doing my short easy workouts patiently. The weightloss is just a bonus I really hope to achieve,

I have been active on SparkPeople for a few years off and on...mostly off. I got serious about losing weight on my wedding anniversary in June of 2013. By Christmas of 2013, I had lost 53 pounds the old fashioned way- moving more and eating less. I let down my guard, gave in to stress eating, and let the weight come back. I way five pounds more today than I did in June of 2013. I currently weigh 380 pounds. Someday I'd like to buy clothes off the rack at the store and weigh 200 pounds. I am again committed to losing the weight again. I'm hoping that involving myself in the SparkPeople community will help.

Hello, I'm Zapjac. I think weighing in once a week is a good idea. It will help me relax on the other days. I joined SP on 12/10/2014 and have found it to be a datamine of information on weight loss and health. The more I learn the more focused I'm able to be. It takes focus on health for me to have smaller portions and stick to the exercise routine I've committed to. That routine is 50 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

I've just returned to Spark after an almost 2 year break... Now I am back.
I intend to do this very mindfully.
I intend to only collect a very limited number of friends - too many became too overwhelming.
I intend to join a few teams and check in with them and with my goals consistently.

The only way to do this is slowly... and with a tremendous amount of kindness to myself.
I am a 43 year old mom of three - married to my DH for almost 19 years.
It is now time to get rid of the (haha) baby-weight (baby is 11) and achieve my goals.

Hi! Marilyn here. Joined team to help with accountability. I want to weigh 129 lbs by this time next year. I weighed 177 lbs today. Instead of losing weight since starting to use SP again I gained weight. My start weight was 176 lbs on 12/14/14.
For the next month I am going to set up and follow a to-do list that will include everything I need to do each day and will include things that will get me moving and eating better. I am finding that the more I try to use the nutrition tracker the more unhealthy I eat so I will no longer use the track to track what I eat but will use the meal plains to help me plan what and when I will eat meals. I don't always like what the meal plans have but I can change things and get the same nutrients so it will help me stay on track without the stress that sees me eating more then I should and more unhealthy items.

Hi everyone!! My name is Jeannie and I have been working on my weight since April of 2012. I was doing great and lost 60 pounds from April 2012 until July 2013. From August 2013 until July of 2014 I have had a lot of bad stuff happen that has caused me to feel depressed and because of that, my willpower to lose the weight suffered and I ended up gaining back 32 of those 60 pounds lost. I am now back and ready to put my weight and health first and hopefully being a part of this team will keep me motivated. I know that I have done it before so I can do it again. And I WILL!! I am looking forward to working with all of you.

Just re-joined Weight Watchers and joined this team for added accountability! Will post my WW weight (not my favorite, which is naked and first thing in the morning) each Wednesday night.

Hello everyone, my name is Ann, I just turned 50 in August, I am happily married, have 2 wonderful children, a son 26, @and a daughter 17. I am also a nana to a fabulous 2 1/2 yr little girl. My son isn't married and they are no longer a couple so we get to spend every other weekend with miss Brynnlie. Love every minute of it.
In 2010 I was at my highest weight of 246. Over the last 4 yrs I was able to drop 70+ .
However, in the last 6 months managed to add 30 of that back on. Yesterday I weighed in at 196.4 . Not good. But haven't hit 200 yet so looking at the positive.
Have been an on again off again spark pages user. This is the longest I've remained and have just started to join challenges. Going to work at staying motivated and get that 30 back off.

Hi I am a working mom of two wonderful boys.. I love to eat and cook... I am tired of being on the side line looking at my boys playing sports I want to get involve and built some memories.. I work in the kitchen which is not easy trying to lose weight.. I am what your kids call the lunch lady ... I want to eat healthier and mainly I want to be more active in exercise which is my down fall because I am either too tired from work or I easily get bored and do not do them... Hi, decided I needed some help to reach my goals. I work a lot so I don't have a lot of time for the computer or to check in. I like the idea of checking in once a week for the weigh in. I have been married for 30 years and we have two delightful grown children and two wonderful grandchildren. I love the read, do puzzles and meet new people and learn new things.

I started sparking a long time ago and I quit for awhile until God told me in my heart to start again so here I am. My name is Darlene and I like to be called Dar cause my girlfriend started it and I liked it so much I go by that. Anyway I lost my husband about 9 yrs ago in May and I lived in Shelton for over 20 yrs and now I live in Tacoma and going to a wonderful Church that I love.
My youngest daughter and her husband and their youngest daughter live with me in a one bedroom apt and the oldest on goes to college now.

Hi, my name is Marcia. I've been at Spark off & on (mostly off) for a couple of years. Just started back because I really have to try to keep track of what I eat and this is the best place I've found to do it. My issues are with BP & CKD; having just spent 4 days in the hospital earlier this month w/extremely HBP which worsened the CKD, I am now preparing for dialysis. So I'm making the effort again because of the diet restrictions and limitations on amounts of protein and other nutrients. So, I started back on Oct 7 @ 276 and am now at 269 as of Monday (my weigh day) -- lost 10lbs while in the hospital -- so I'm hoping I can continue the downward spiral in the weight department. My name is Bobbie Jo. I have been using spark on and off for the past 3 years. Never seem to be able to get the pounds off and I am looking for some motivation!!! Just turned the big 4-0 and not really excited about that either.

I am 5'0' and weigh around 183. I have been doing a bootcamp class for the past 3 years and have switched to Kettlebell training and I LOVE IT! I have gotten so much stronger and I can't believe how much better I feel after I go to class. I have purchased a bell for at home to work with but can never seem to find the time. With 3 girls ages 14, 12, and 6 my time is their time

I have made the decision that I need some me time and I need to get healthier, stronger and not be the fat mom. I want to look good when I have to walk with my daughter on parents night for volleyball games.

So here I go. I am ready for a change!!! emoticon

Hi, I am 72, married to a wonderful man for 50 years, have 3 adult children, 12 grandchildren and two great children. We live in Florence OR and love it. My goal is to get to a healthy weight so that we can enjoy ourselves and I can get around. I need to lose 50 lbs but set goals of 10lbs at a time. Sunday starts my week for my diet and goals. Hi, I'm Lynne, been on Spark People a number of years back & forth. Running ruined my knees and that was my exercise of choice so the pounds have piled on. My goal is to drop 20# of fat before I see my family at Christmas. Hubby & I have our baby in college so we are joined at the hip. We ride a lot in the non-summer months - so we are looking forward to resuming that activity. We live an hour outside Austin, Tx in these beautiful hills.

Thankfully weighing daily does not stress me - it motivates me and keeps me focused. My biggest temptation is Dr Pepper. I am so busy that I tend to replace a real meal with a soda so that I can keep on working.

Hello! I'm new to Sparkpeople, not sure how I had never heard of it because it seems like a great page! To tell you guys a little about me, I'm 23 years old and I am Active Duty military. I got injured so I no longer run, which put a damper on me. I've gained some weight over past few months and I'm looking to shed it ALL off! My biggest issue is staying motivated =/ Unfortunatley I do not have many people around me that have the same mindset/goals as I do. So I'm hoping to get some motivation from this page!
I just started on the Focus T25 workouts, hopefully it works out well for me!

Hi, I have been on sparkpeople on and off for 7 years. Originally, I lost 29 pounds, but I have not been able to do that and over the past 6 years I have gained that back. What keeps me sane is that I think of the times I tried harder - even if I didn't reach my goals - it kept me from being farther away from where I want to be health and weight wise.

I just moved to Fort Worth (near Keller) Texas at the end of August. I enjoy walking and swimming. I can only ride a bike for 10- 15 minutes right now so I plan on getting that up to 30. I have 8 kids ages 8-22, and a husband of 23 years. My 21 year old daughter who was home from college was my work out buddy in Aug - Sept and she almost killed me - couldn't quite keep up : )

I am here to try. try, again, - again!

Morning all!! I'm somewhat new to Spark, my daughter got me started a couple of weeks ago. I work full time in administration at our local community college, and have struggled with binge/emotional eating for as long as I can remember. I've tried every diet out there, and have come to the conclusion that I've got to fix the "inside" before the outside will come along. I'm starting out today at 227.4, however, I've lost ten pounds over the past six months.

I've been happily married for over 30 years and have five grown children, and two grandchildren on the way. It's my hope that I be healthy when they arrive!! Although I post my weight daily in my goals page, I love the idea of a virtual weigh in!

Hello all! I am 28yrs old, a teacher turned social worker and single mom to an almost-7-year-old. I'm 5'8" tall and currently 265lbs, a US size 18/20 in clothing. Starting about a dozen years ago, I have gained 6-7lbs a year, but for the last two years that has increased to about a 15lb gain every year, taking me from weighing 170lbs a dozen years ago to about 265lbs now. I joined SP nine years ago, fall of 2005, my sophomore year of college, when I was 190lbs and wanted to lose about 25-30lbs. I have been off and on here since then, but have never lost more than 10-15lbs before losing motivation or falling off the bandwagon dramatically and never getting back on.

I struggle with food addiction/compulsive/emotional eating and find that I have very little self control if junk food is around. Still, even though my house is free of junk food, I end up having some frequently at work because coworkers bring it in. I will also make food late at night that technically isn't junk (chicken quesadilla, eggs and toast, leftovers etc) but is far more calories than a small snack. Having a sedentary office job the past two years has just been the (ironic wording intended) icing on the cake.

I am hoping to end this year at a lighter weight than when the year started. That would be a first in over ten years. I was about 255-257lbs this past January, am 265lbs now and am aiming for under 250 by year's end.

Hello everyone....I just signed up to weigh in with yall. Im Grammy...51yo....260#ish 5'8". Im not sure about weight. Im on travel right now but will be home Tuesday evening. I will weigh in for sure Wednesday morning. My goal is to lose at least 110#. It has been so long since ive been thin I don't know where I should be. I figure Ill know it when I feel it. =) It has been less than a year since I was told I have diabetes...sooo I have to fix that. I have some pretty challenging goals ... but I am going to try not to jump in too fast.

Hi Everyone. I'm Stephanie. Over the last 2 yrs I've lost 30 lbs. I'm here looking to lose another 50 and really tone up my body. In May my hubby and I will be celebrating our 10 anniversary, I want to surprise him with a boudoir photo shoot. I don't expect to be skinny but I do expect to be toned and in the best shape I can be. I currently work third shift and plan on exercising when I get up for the day. I have a Fitbit what I where everyday. I can't wait to get to know you guys and learn all I can to be in the best place I can be.

Hi Debra (baby_girl60), trying hard to lose at least 40 more pounds, I am only 5'0 short person, have a hard time walking up steps, okay going down. However since I started this journey 2 years ago when I weighed 247 lbs., but still have a lot of work to do. My love of Jesus, and my belief in hard work will get me thru. Tracking I think is a great way to achieve my goals so I will be here everyday on my page, with exercise, diet, getting the right amount of sleep. I must take into account my medical history, and learning new meals, I am trying to help my cholesterol, blood pressure, and diabetes thru diet. Hello! I'm looking to lose 92 pounds. My goal is to weigh 130-140, that is a healthy weight for my 5'6" medium frame. Weigh in helps keep me accountable and on track. I like to weigh in on Friday. I need a weekly weigh in! I commited a week ago with exercise and eating well. My goal is 25lb. I lost 3.5 as of today. Feeling good, but a little concerned as on Friday we are leaving for 2 weeks vacation. I like Monday weigh in, it keeps me sane over the weekend knowing I have to step on the scale come Monday's!

hi everyone I m new to sparks. but not new to the diet exercise thing. one thing I have learned is this if I call it a "diet" I don't follow it. so I choose to call it my healthy living plan. I'm 47 have 3 great adult children and I'm blessed to be the grand mom of 5 grand kids and several more I've "adopted along the way my goal is a pretty big one. I hope to lose 50 or more pounds. . I recently found out I have type 2 diabetes. I want to wish you all the best of luck!
