Hello, I was very successful 2 years ago losing weight (although didn't hit goal) using SP. Life got busy and I stopped tracking and have gradually gained backed 3/4 of the weight I lost. I am trying to get back on track and am hoping weekly weigh ins will help me stay accountable.

Hello all. I am Michele and I am making a commitment to me, to get healthy. Getting familiar with SP and see the value of other peoples journey.

For me this means loosing weight and getting my A1C back down by controlling my daily food intake and seeing exercise as a positive thing. I have mental and emotional sludge that has contributed to my self neglect so it is a daily choice to overcome the negative and see the benefits of caring for me.

All this is easier said then done when there are a lot of demands on me so I hope to get support and help staying on track with this community. I have set my phone alarm to remind me to weigh Mondays and jump in with both feet!

Hi everyone, my name is Gail and I've been sparking for 3 1/2 years, with some ups and downs along the way... BUT I'M STILL HERE. I've joined and quit many other weight loss programs over the years, but SP is the best one I've tried. I'm 25 lbs. from my goal of 150 lbs.

SparkPeople has taught me a lot about nutrition and exercise. I've met some wonderful people and will be on this program for the rest of my life.

I weigh myself each Monday morning, and joining this team will me stay honest and reach goal.

Hi. My name is Trent. Was really active on SP back in 2009/2010. Lost over 25 pounds. Have gained about 15 of them back. Very frustrated that I've never been able to hit my actual goal weight of 195 (was literally less than a pound away at one point).

Weekly weigh-ins were a huge part of my success back in the day. As much as I know that other things need to change in my life to make this all work, I want to get involved with a group that is really active with a legitimate healthy focus on the weekly weigh-in. So I'm here for a season, maybe two.

Cheers!

Hi, everyone! My name is Gaye and I have been a member since October, 2008 BUT though I got HEALTHY by practicing what I learned here, I NEVER got or stayed at GOAL weight....or ANY goal weight. UNTIL....March of this year. I have been maintaining since then and am settling in to my final healthy weight of between 121-123....since then. It is going well....but I absolutely believe in being accountable most so joined this team when I saw it. I post everywhere I can for accountability!

So, I am so glad to be here!

Hi my name is Linda, I've struggles with being fat since I was 10 years old. I had a Mother that thought I had to be skinny. She had me on diet pills when I was 12 years old. I stayed on them all the way through my freshman year of high school. She wouldn't let me eat as much food as my sister did! I ate no sugar. No desserts unless it was fruit. One night I didn't eat supper, because I'd gone out after school with my boyfriend, & later I got hungry & stole a pork chop she got real mad at me! Then one day she had to take me to the Dr. & I was a sophomore in high school & I only weighed 100 lbs. & the Dr. had a fit & said to take me off the diet pills, they were only to get her through a little bit to lose about 10 lbs. She got real mad! Said she'll gain her weight back! After that I started eating anything I wanted! After my divorce from my second husband I became a diabetic 2. I was on meds. I went on WW 2 or 3 times, Nutri System 2 or 3 times then I couldn't afford either one of them. Then I found My Fitness Pal, I was on it for a while & then went on Spark in April, 2015, I thought it was December 2014. I guess I was wrong. I'm finally on the right track! Have a blessed day! lyl! emoticon emoticon

Have a blessed day!

emoticon to all of you!

Posting here has helped keep me accountable and has supported my process. There are many tools (Nutrition Tracker, Fitness Tracker, Weight Tracker), resources (articles, videos) and support (teams, challenges, message boards) available here.

I have taken a "slow and steady" approach and it has worked for me. Initially, I started moving because it helped relieve stress and that was my biggest need at the time. After six months of consistent movement I gravitated back to SparkPeople (I had been at Spark previously and abandoned ship) and began Nutrition Tracking and began engaging online with the SparkCommunity through teams.

Find what supports you and keep plugging away at it. You'll be glad you did!

Wishing you success in achieving your goals!

Hello to all - I have been on sparks off and on and need to stay true. My biggest obstacle is journaling my food. When I do, I stay more accountable. I have been heavy for more years then most of you have been alive. I am 5 ft 5.5 inches. I used to be 5 ft. 6 in. I now weight 231 and need to loose a total of 80 lbs. I will be happy with 50. I have MS and my legs are going fast. When I walk I use a walker and it takes me 5 min. to walk 100 ft. When I am out and about I use a wheel chair. I figure if I can't walk, I will work my arms. If I loose the weight, my arms will be like popeye's. I just need support to keep on track. Last week we had to stay in a motel for 3 days, which meant we had to eat out. I do not know how people do it. I gained the 3 lbs back that I had lost and now am starting over again. I

I am hoping you all will be there for me, and I will reciprocate.

Mom to 5 girls, 17 to 40, and grand-kids in between

Hello, everybody. I'm not brand new to this team but I am here for the first time in a very long time. In my absence, I managed to gain weight instead of losing it. But, that's also why I'm back.

I'm 5'5" and weigh a whopping 242 pounds -- my heaviest EVER! I want to get rid of 100 pounds of that, but I'll be happy if I can just drop to 199 or below by the end of 2015.

I NEED a buddy to call or e-mail me (I prefer calls) at least once per week to check on how I'm doing! I'm more than happy to return the favor.

Hi, my name is Liz, and I'm a 30 year old stay at home mom of 4 wonderful children, and married to the man of my dreams.I've struggled with weight and body image issues my since I was around 11 years old and weighed 100lbs and was told I was fat. For the longest time (throughout my teens and early adulthood) I struggled with starving myself. But then, somehow I changed that and became overweight. I've tried to lose weight over the past 4 years, but never had the drive or motivation to actually stick with it. The wake up call for me came back in April when I went to the dr for a checkup and weighed in at my heaviest (even heavier than when I was pregnant) at 195. I was tired of hating the person I saw in the mirror, I wanted to be healthier for my children. I want to be a good role model for them, and be able to run and play with them without getting so out of breath. I'm happy to say that since that day back in April I've made healthy eating changes, and lots of exercise and it has really paid off. I'm proud of the 27 pounds I've lost so far. I still have a long way to go, but this time I'm more determined and motivated than I have ever been. Oh and by the way, I'm also trying to quit smoking at the same time. That one seems to be a whole lot harder. But I'm motivated so I can, I will!

Hi! My name is Jessica, I am 31 years old and just had my wonderful son almost 8 weeks ago. I am married to the best guy in the world and love my life...except for my weight! I needed to lose some pounds before the pregnancy, then gained another 40 pounds...This is the heaviest I have ever been in my life and am looking to get back into shape. While I have never been the thin girl, I refuse to buy a whole new wardrobe so I need to fit into my clothes again! My ultimate goal is to take a shirt out of the closet and just put it on and go about my day...not try on 5 different tops and finally settle on the one that makes me look the smallest! I want to be healthy for my husband and my son and feel confident and beautiful again! I am hoping that SP will help me get there!

Started on Monday 6/15/15 with tracking food and trying to get some exercise in - 197 pounds. My first goal is 175 pounds, my pre-pregnancy weight. Ultimate goal is 150 pounds by my birthday, 11/28!

Hey everyone!

I'm Katrina. I have an 11 month old daughter and I'm married to the love of my life, so you could say I have things pretty good! The only thing I really want to change right now is my weight. I'm the heaviest I have ever been, including during my pregnancy.

This morning I weighed myself at 256 lbs.

That is a full 10 lb. gain in the last month and I can't pinpoint a reason for the increase, but I do know there is something I can do about it! I have used SparkPeople in the past but decided to start new so I wasn't constantly reminded about those past failures. My overall goal is lose about 100 lbs (to weigh about 160 lbs.) but my first goal is 50 lbs. by Christmas.

Start Date: June 18, 2015 (11 months post-pardum)
256 lbs.
6/21: 252.2 lbs. (-3.8)
1st Goal: 50 lbs. lost by Christmas 2015

Hi I am Patrice, this is the heaviest I have been and just having a hard time getting it off. I had success doing weight watchers meetings in the past and I think its because I was weighing in front of people. I think this team can help because now it helps for accountability as well as motivation. As of Monday 6/15/15 I weighed 169.8 ( I am a short so this consider obese for me).

My name is Beth. I've been a SP member for quite a while, but I have had a nasty tendency to give up easily in the past. Therefore, I have had a lot of starts and stops on SP. Well, I am back again, but this time I feel stronger than ever. I am already off to a good start. I have found that unlike in my past I have been staying consistent with my nutrition goals. I have also started taking a walk on an almost daily basis. It helps having the support on SP as well as from family. My family and long time friends actually live over 1,000 miles away from me, but we all use an Android walking app called Map My Walk that allows us to all stay in touch, compare notes, and encourage each other on despite the distance. I am hoping to draw a couple of them on here as well, because I absolutely love SP. My goal is to lose about half my weight. I've lost 5 lbs so far. I still have a long ways to go, but slow and steady wins the race.

I am a former Weight Watchers member and have been successful at losing 75-80 # since October of 2011. The majority of the weight came off in the first year and then the 5# fluctuations began. I liked the program but wasn't progressing but inertia kept me there. It was the financial aspect that finally put me over the edge. I knew the cost was too high for me to stagnate, so I came back to SparkPeople and go to a TOPS meeting for weigh ins to keep me accountable.
I love the Spark Community and the tracking of food and exercise, all the encouragement is just amazing! I have started riding a bicycle again and have logged 18 miles since Sunday. I also am a ballroom dancer, but that is another story for another day. It is great to be here.

Good evening everyone. My name is Darlene but like to be called Dar. I've been here once before a long time ago so I thought it would be nice to come back. I've been tracking my food intake and walking on the treadmill off and on but mostly walking to the stores. So far I've lost 26 pounds since I came back to Spark People and I made a deal with my Lord God if he helps me I'll do the rest and so far it's working.
I use to live in Shelton,WA but moved to Tacoma 5 yrs ago this coming Sept and love the church I'm going to and love this town. Right now I live up stairs in an apt but at the end of the month or next month I'll be moving across the building but in the same complex in a 2 bedroom apt.
I lost my husband 10 yrs ago last month but life has to go so here I am.
Take care and talk to all of you later.

Hello,

This is all new to me, tracking and participating in groups. I've always tried to do this on my own, but lose and gain so it goes, hoping that this new way for me will be a lasting way. My weigh in day will be Mondays.

Thanks

I have been the member for Spark People since April and just to keep myself accountable, I joined this team. I never struggled with my weight for the most part of my life but since my son's Autism diagnose 8 years ago and dealing with it all emotionally took its toll on my body and weight. I went from my ideal weight of 142 lbs in April 2007 to 244 lbs in April 2015. I found the refuge in food well mostly junk food. During all this time, I had to energy or desire to do anything about my weight, until one night after a huge fight with my husband who made me realized that I will not be able to do anything for my family and specially my autistic son, if I die young.
When I first started to finally walk to lose weight, I couldn't walk for over 5 minutes without gasping for air and wheezing.
I have started this slow weight loss journey from April 12th, 2015 with on and of the wagon. Now I think, I need to keep myself accountable therefore joining this team.

Hi everyone, not a new Sparker but new to this Team. I am one of those folks who start out strong, do all the right things and then slowly but surely I lose momentum, the will to keep at it, and general I'm tired of trying.

I've been on Spark for a few weeks now and was diligent with logging in, tracking food, tracking steps, mileage, exercise, water intake, etc. Now I have lost most of my energy to do this. The last few days I have noticed that I struggle just to log on, check messages, etc.

I find going grocery shopping is a really big downfall, especially if I go to Trader Joe's, there is always something there that I buy and shouldn't. I am going to start shopping at Meijer because they do have a good veggie/fruit section (sometimes) and the local Farmers Market has just opened but they can be really expensive $4 for bunch of carrots - really ? I could go to Whole Paycheck for that kind of pricing.

I'm going off track. I had surgery in March and of course couldn't exercise, walk, or anything strenuous. This leads to sitting around eating and looking at the scale, not from standing on it but by walking by it. I'm hoping that this team will produce in me the accountability that I need to stick to a plan, because someone will be watching my weight ticker. Biggest food downfalls pizza and ice cream. I am not a "fast food" person or frozen meal kind of gal. I just eat too much of whatever I am eating. I often wonder if one of those sectioned plates would work for me - I know Chinet paper plates have sections.

Well I'm looking at today as the First Day in my new weigh in challenge because I have been eating like there is no tomorrow for the last two days. Sorry this is so long.

I am determined to lose weight and am setting small goals. My current goal is to be as close to 350 pounds by my 53rd birthday (July 6) 16 down and 27 pounds to go. Don't worry, I'm realistic and recognize that I may not achieve this goal, but it is one that I have set for myself and I am striving to get as close to it as I can!

I pray to change into a better me one day at a time!

Good morning everyone my name is Linda, and like most people here I need to lose 100+ lbs. I weigh in on Saturday mornings however skipped last Saturday because after the week I had I knew it wasn't going to be pretty. Since then however I have gotten a treadmill in my house and it has been used every day, and I plan to continue to use it every day.

My name is Deb. I am 54 years old. I have been married to the same wonderful guy for 34 years. He is supportive of my endeavors, no matter how many times I've failed. I am a RN and I work as a nursing supervisor at a major rehabilitation hospital. I have every reason to get and keep in shape but I've used every excuse not to. I am determined this time. I will lose the weight, I will reach my goals! I am going to use all the tools SP has available and I want your help in keeping me accountable!

Hello everyone. I started Weight Watchers Feb. 22 and have lost 7 lbs. I am 5'6.5 and started at 142 lbs. I'm now at 135, and am hoping to get to 132 lbs. I've quit WW and am now using Spark People. Both systems help to track everything I eat, and to make smarter food choices.

I'm not new to Sparks and have decided to come back. I've got health issues that would benefit greatly if I were to lose over 100#. I have tried about everything over the years and have gradually gained and gained because there has been no lifestyle change. I am a type 2 diabetic with 2 other major health problems along with pain issues. I weigh 273 and accepted the notion that change will probably never happen for me because food makes me feel good. I do find that I feel better when my B/S is in control and change my thoughts about food. It doesn't last but for a few days and I'm back where I started. I weigh every day just to keep my weight "as is" because of fast weight gain and the shock when it happens. I can't afford to gain more! I need to pick a weigh-in day and make a commitment. emoticon

Hi everyone! I'm Patty and I'm back again on Sparkpeople looking to lose the weight I gained back after I started slipping on my exercise and meals. I started logging my meals around the beginning of the year but didn't really get serious until the end of February. Still having trouble motivating myself to get active so I also joined the 10 minute exercise too. I've lost 12 pounds so far and have 33 pounds to go. I weigh in everyday but I'll limit my post to one day if I have to. :)

Hey!

I used this quite regularly a few years ago. I stopped. I'm back now and remembering how to do it all again. I'm feeling pretty optimistic and looking forward to getting to know some of you and get back into the swing of things. Bring on the challenge!!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Ingrid and I live in Flatrock, Newfoundland, Canada. I work at Memorial University as a lab instructor in computer science.

Recently, I began a healthy living group here on campus. As the leader, I give out lots of support and I have gained confidence in my knowledge of a healthy life style.

I started this journey about 5 weeks ago at 5'0" and 215 lbs. I am aiming to be 185 lbs by my birthday on December 19th, 2015. I think this is a realistic goal ad this would be 30 lbs in 30 weeks.

I will weigh-in with my group on Wednesdays and record my progress here on Thursdays.

I am looking forward to being successful and I know that this group will help me!

Hi all :) My name is Gina and I am a Lender for a Credit Union/Bartender/Fitness Instructor/ and Aspiring Author.

I live on Vancouver Island with my "not-Husband" and our (slightly evil, but oh so cute) cat.

I have been on and off SparkPeople for probably 6 years, pingponging between 10lbs from my goal weight and 40 lbs from my goal weight.

This time feels different. I've hit my first 14 day streak, I've been running on my lunch breaks and my man and I are getting into weight lifting.

Exciting times ahead :)

I would love to expand my network a little bit :) Its a different experience having the loving support of a man... who gets stronger at the speed of light and drops weight like taking off a sweater :s

I'd love to meet some other ladies on this journey.

Hi! I'm Amanda - A mom of 2 under 3yrs. After having my second last June, and after the beauty of natures post birth weight loss, i quickly climbed the scale to #'s I've not seen in my life.
I weight 211 #s ---- that is very hard to type - much less say aloud.

This is me looking for accountability in weighing in, and staying honest with myself.

I am doing this for me, so i don't have to buy another size up in clothes, so I am Happy with myself again, and for my kids, so that they have an active mommy who can help them be healthy active kids.

That being said - Lets do this!

Hi ...My name is Karlyn and I am 47. I am here to lose weight in order to stay healthy. I have never been overweight until I hit my 40's. The problem is when I hit 170 and above. Unfortunately, my body goes into a state where everything goes crazy...sugar...bp...cholesterol..etc. it's basically like metabolic syndrome. I was doing good and a couple of years ago I was diagnosed with diverticulitis . I had no clue what it was or that I had it. I have always been active but between working too many hours at a local high school and ignoring medical signs , my health went down hill fast! I have since changed jobs and love being a virtual teacher. Of course, it is a desk job and I have to make myself get motivated about eating right , exercising, and getting my health in a better place. One day at a time..

I have been a faithful use of SparkPeople since January 2014. Daily food tracking, weekly weigh ins, blogs, teams, etc. I am only a few pounds away form goal, having lost over 80 pounds. I am easing into maintenance, or still "in recovery" which ever way I choose to look at it, so I need some accountability to keep this up. Hoping to find it here.

Hey there everybody!
I just want to start by saying whatever your goals are, you can achieve them! I'm 18 years old, and I was once 230lbs... I'm 160lbs now and I feel amazing! I still have 30 more pounds to lose, and that's why I'm here! Well..that isn't the only reason. I am also here to hopefully inspire and encourage you as I continue the rest of my journey!

Never hesitate to come say hello on my blog or send me a message, we can all use a friend and some support from time to time!

Hi everyone,
I have been involved in SP for a few years and have been very successful in the past but have let my old habits slowly creep back. After gaining back 25 pounds in the last year, I'm ready to follow SP again and change my lifestyle FOR GOOD. I can do this - and joining this team will help keep me accountable. Thank you for your help - because I know being a member of this team will truly help. Have a great day!

Hi! My name is Laura, I am 45 years old and married. We have a daughter that is 22. I have struggled with my weight all of life. I was tipping the scales at 293 pounds at the beginning of this year. Depressed, miserable, disgusted, and making excuses. I kept telling myself that if I could only get enough money together I could get surgery or Jenny Craig. I went to see my family Dr. and on Valentine's day i started a program of 40 carbs a day, 20 mins of cardio, and a phentermine, and 8 glasses of water per day. It is working. i have lost 30 pounds in 2 months.I am not making excuses anymore. I feel better than I have in a long time, I know I have a long way to go but I feel hopeful and committed to a new way of life.

I'm Alice and I lost 45 pounds over the last 4 years and have maintained the loss. I am stuck at 160 and would like to get to 140 or 145. I am hoping to get some accountability here to finish what I started. I walk just about everyday for 3 to 5 miles. I usually do strength training for 45 minutes 3 times a week. I am also a Silver Sneaker certified instructor and teach as a substitute at my local gym. I also teach a senior exercise class at my church on Mon and Weds morning. I keep active and enjoy being active.

Hello, I am Paula a 49 year old married mother of two. Jake 20 and Sarah 19.

I have osteo arthritis of the hips which makes exercising very difficult. So am unable to do much of that other than normal stuff like housework, gardening when I am able.

I have interests candles, reading, feng shui, computers, positive thinking, spirituality, new age thinking, Leptin Diet, soccer and gardening to name a few.

I try to eat healthy and organically where possible and avoid all preservatives and additives where and when I can.

I Drink reverse osmosis water from my water filter. We only use Australian made and owned cleaning products that are non toxic and without any harsh chemicals at home.

One thing I do know it's not a diet but a healthy lifestyle!

I will start weighing in every Monday from now on starting next Monday the 13th April.

According to my BMI I am within healthy weight range but my goal is to get down to 52 Kilos. I figure this will be a healthier and lighter load on my hips than what is there at Present.

We can all each and everyone of us do this especially with the help and encouragement we can give each other! Here's to our weight loss. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi, I am starting over for the 100th time, but like any other addiction it takes many times to get it right. It is hard finding time for myself. I really need to. I am heavier than I have been other than one other time in my life. I need support and someone to help keep me accountable.
I am changing my habits one day at a time. We can do this if we stick together!

i've just started back myself and i want to loss 86 pounds. I don't want to be skinny either, just healthier. i have high blood pressure and i want to get off my medicine.

For meals, what i started doing 2 weeks ago and i love it is I make my meals for a few days ahead of time. This is challenging since i work long hours and with my husband and 3 children I'm always tired at the end of the day. My weight loss success has always been with great meal planning. I just spent this evening making meals for the next 2-3 days. One of my daughters helped so that was fun.

the night before I arrange my meals it there containers so i can just drop them in my lunch bag in the morning. I pack everything including snacks. This helps me make wise decisions. When i don't have all my meals and snacks i tend to wonder to the cafeteria and make poor food choices (like nachos instead of a grilled chicken salad).

emoticon everyone! Technically I'm not new, just re-turning after a couple of years 'vacation'. I was doing real well when I was here, but I just STOPPED. No reason and now having gained back everything I lost...well I'm back. Hoping I will continue this time, so far I'm doing good. I have met all my daily goals for a week! emoticon

Hello team,
I"m a single woman,42, 5'6, pediatric nurse and I work the 2nd shift. I have lost weight in the past, but always seems to put it back on. I'm trying to get motivated, so that could finally just go on my weight and getting healthy journey. I'm not looking to be skinny, but healthy, looking to lose about 80lbs. I have always been overweight. Working 2nd shift, I find it hard to eat healthy while at work, and sometimes I don't even get to eat. Any suggestions, would be appreciated, here I go........

I'm Julie. I'm a professional photographer who hates to be in front of the camera because I no longer recognize that woman. I want to feel comfortable in my own body again and be able to dress in clothes that reflect my personality instead of being limited to the styles in the "Big Woman" section. I am hoping to lose somewhere between 60 - 100 pounds. I know that is a big range, but I have failed so many times that even just losing half of what I need to lose will feel like a success.

I'm not sure I actually understand how to use these Forums. I thought I was replying to someone's post but it turned out to be a new post. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, my name is Jessie and I'm from Ohio. I have been married for 14 1/2 years and have 4 boys ranging in age from 13 to 1 1/2. In my house we have 2 cats, 1 dog, and a 40 something year old (yes the turtle is a older than me) turtle. I took my kids out of public school this year to a virtual academy (big mistake too long of hours) and last month took them out of that to traditional homeschool (best decision ever).

three years ago I was at my heaviest at 309. Then two years ago was at my lowest since I had my first boy at 259. After having my last child and making bad choices I am high again at 297. For the past two years I have also been put on high blood pressure pills. I have been on spark people before and lost 35 pounds. Whenever I stop is when I notice I quit being accountable and all the weight comes back on.

My goals:

This year I want to stick with it and stay with spark people to achieve all of my goals. This would include getting to being just over weight and not obese this year. I really want to get off one of my blood pressure medications by my birthday next February. Getting active and getting my children more active. Just took my oldest son's weight and found out that he just went in to the obese stage so now he is on the spark teen so hopefully we can get healthy together.

Greetings everyone!

My name is Sean and I am from Michigan. My first weigh in in a long time was 342.8, and I almost died looking at that scale. 9 years ago I had unhealthily lost a lot of weight and was down to 185. I had told myself that I would never get above 200 pounds again. Now I have 143 pounds to reach that goal, so I can set my goal for a weight that would make me happy. At 31 years old, I know I can either fix this now, or experience a world of hurt for my personal health. I am grateful that I am suffering minimally because of my weight, but carrying that much extra baggage is eventually going to hurt me.

Not to mention vanity. At 5'6 I need to shop in the big and tall section, to make sure my shirts fully get around my stomach, and that my pant legs are loose enough around my thighs. My staple clothes are black pants and a black polo, I haven't even tried to find jeans that would fit me at this point. When I spend money on clothes, I want to justify it, so I can say I look good.

I have a goal for 250 lbs, at first.

The real goal is 200.

My weigh in today was at 336. But the first week of dieting usually is some intense weight loss just because of the jolt to my system. I am trying not to eliminate all "bad" foods from my diet, but really focus on healthier eating overall, but remember that moderation is the key to the splurges. I am also trying to get soda out of my life, because I can't seem to drink soda in moderation, or so it would seem

I have used Sparkpeople in the past, and it usually helps me to keep held accountable. However, where I fail is when I slip, I slip hard, and often times can't convince myself after a "cheat day" or splurge, that there is any point in continuing on. I know that is a horrible mindset, and even though I know that is wrong, it is hard to convince myself otherwise.

Hi all! I'm trying to get back on to SparkPeople after an absence and failure managing myself. With the phone tracker I think it will be much easier to stay on board. Ironically another program brought me back to SparkPeople. My work actually has a Wellness department which has every few month challenges for us; most recently starting tracking exercise and food in February using another tracker which isn't as community driven as SparkPeople.

I've determined that having Challenges makes it somewhat easier to manage myself as well being able to track from my phone is awesome. So now I'm doing both the work tracker for work as well as Spark since I find it easier to use and more enjoyable.

Hey guys,

My name is Andrea. I'm a "new" mother to a 5 month old son. Life has been mostly just learning to adjust to having a new baby and juggling yet another demand. I was working midnights up until this coming Sunday when I requested to get put onto day shift. I partially think that working nights and not getting adequate sleep has been part of my problem with losing weight.

I currently weigh 262 and that's after losing the 20lbs I put on with being pregnant. I have medication that I am on to help with my appetite and it does seem to help. My motivation issue comes with working out. I get bored super fast, and even when working out most of the time I'm thinking about when and how soon it can be over with!

My husband is also trying to lose weight and it's been a battle for the both of us, as he is a major junk food junkie. I can go either way, if it's not in my house then I'm not as tempted to eat it, and even then don't really want to buy it. Anywho, hoping that this group can help hold me accountable by weighing in weekly as opposed to weighing monthly at the doctor's office.

Excited to get doing this again and give it a good try again!

Hi All, my name is Kristina.

Today, I weigh 216.

I joined SparkPeople in 2012, however, I only messed around with it for a week or so. I'm back now, and wish to engage more, as I'm able. I have SLE, so I can't always follow through with a team's goals, yet, I am here, and will give it my best. I need to lose weight -- I've been in the worst flare of my life -- I have gained weight with this flare, partly from being on strict bed rest since November, partly due to medication, and the rest is from comfort-eating. Right now, my largest focus is to keep tabs of what I'm eating, plan all my meals, get as much 'blender juice' as I can into my meals. For instance, as a snack right now, I'm sipping a warm mug of soup. I took a bunch of greens and blended them into a puree, and did the same with beets and apples, plus, I made bone broth -- then, I froze all of them in muffin tins. At least once or twice a day, I pop several of them, together, into a mug, and heat. It's really helping with my disease, and with my ability to eat healthier. In addition, this works great for days that I'm too sick to cook. That said, I am starting with 10 minutes of exercise, as I seem to be able to tolerate it again, and will add more as I can. When I increase the exercise I will still keep each session to 10 minutes -- for instance, if I can do 30 minutes a day, it will be three, separate, 10-minute chunks. In the past, during or after a bad flare, this is what has worked for me, to get the ball rolling again. Also, I have started doing the gentlest MELT Method routine (just my hands and feet right now, and even then, I do it seated).

So, that's me for now. Thanks for being here!

Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm 52, a mother to two grown daughters, and a grandmother to a 3 year old boy and a little girl who's due on June 10th. I was married years ago, was divorced for 25 years, and then married my wonderful husband in May 2011 and promptly gained half of the weight that I had lost and then lost my motivation to lose weight. I have joined the BLC challenge, which weighs in on Thursdays, and want to weigh on here on Mondays so I'm not tempted to have too much junk on the weekend, when my husband is home.

Good morning! I am a 62 year old mother of 2 and grandmother of 5. Life is good and I am blessed. I need to lose around 20-30 pounds and am looking for motivation to do so. It has been a LONG winter and I am so ready for spring and summer, but would like to feel better about myself. Sparkpeople is awesome and such a great tool and lifestyle motivator. I am ready to make friends and become the person that I feel that I am inside. Blessings to all and NEVER GIVE UP!

Hello, I'm Nancy. I am 58, married for 37 years, mom of 3 and grandmother to 10. I lost over 70 lbs with Weight Watchers and have gained 20 of it back. My goal is to lose at least 15 of that. I'm struggling with motivation and night time snacking. I hope checking in on here and being more diligent about attending my Weight Watchers meetings helps get me back on track.

Hello. I'm Tracy.

I'm enjoying reading about everyone's successes with losing weight. It's quite encouraging to read that we are in the same boat and share similar struggles. I look forward to sharing my success story as well. Today is the last day I will weigh 201.6 pounds! It's all down hill from here!
