Hey Everyone!

Have been in a bit of a rut lately and needed to bust through it. Well, I got the motivation to bust through it a couple hours ago - a good friend called me at work to let me know that she got engaged yesterday and asked me to be a bridesmaid :-D

I figured this group was the best place to come to help keep me accountable to my goals :-)

Hello, I am new to SparkPeople, but not to weight loss. I have been on a up and down battle with it for many years! I have been using and currently am using weight watchers. I have lost weight with it. A wonderful program, but I want to try something different! I love the motivation on spark people! SO HERE WE GO!

Hi.. I am MR and I have about 100 lbs to lose... I have been a member of SP off and on but have never got into it like I wanted to... I have made a promise to myself to lose 10 pounds by Christmas.. if more great... I want accountability and support.. hope I can get it as well as give it... would like to meet new people.. Hi, I am 72, married to a wonderful man for 50 years, have 3 adult children, 12 grandchildren and two great children. We live in Florence OR and love it. My goal is to get to a healthy weight so that we can enjoy ourselves and I can get around. I need to lose 50 lbs but set goals of 10lbs at a time. Sunday starts my week for my diet and goals. My weekly goals is to cut back on my nightly wine, to walk 5000 steps every day.

Hi! I'm 53, happily married for 34 years and a grandmother of 8. I'm trying my darnest to lose the 60 pounds I've packed on over the years. I've lost 20 so far and need a little bit of motivation to keep it going. I've recently started walking and this past week incorporated a little bit of jogging.

Hi, I'm Lynne, been on Spark People a number of years back & forth. Running ruined my knees and that was my exercise of choice so the pounds have piled on. My goal is to drop 20# of fat before I see my family at Christmas. Hubby & I have our baby in college so we are joined at the hip. We ride a lot in the non-summer months - so we are looking forward to resuming that activity. We live an hour outside Austin, Tx in these beautiful hills.

Thankfully weighing daily does not stress me - it motivates me and keeps me focused. My biggest temptation is Dr Pepper. I am so busy that I tend to replace a real meal with a soda so that I can keep on working.

Looking forward to making some new friends.

My name is Yvette and I'm here to get some motivation, encouragement and accountability. I've been on Spark People for the second time since May of this year and I'm a leader of the Spark Washington team.
I have only 24 pounds left to go to reach my goal but I have been struggleing for the past 2 months mostly due to lack of motivation. I started out with a bang eating right and exercising but haven't exercise consistantly in a month.
I'm hoping that by joining a couple of more teams that weigh-in weekly will help and I'm hoping to get some tips too!

Hello! I'm new to Sparkpeople, not sure how I had never heard of it because it seems like a great page! To tell you guys a little about me, I'm 23 years old and I am Active Duty military. I got injured so I no longer run, which put a damper on me. I've gained some weight over past few months and I'm looking to shed it ALL off! My biggest issue is staying motivated =/ Unfortunatley I do not have many people around me that have the same mindset/goals as I do. So I'm hoping to get some motivation from this page!
I just started on the Focus T25 workouts, hopefully it works out well for me!

Hi, I have been on sparkpeople on and off for 7 years. Originally, I lost 29 pounds, but I have not been able to do that and over the past 6 years I have gained that back. What keeps me sane is that I think of the times I tried harder - even if I didn't reach my goals - it kept me from being farther away from where I want to be health and weight wise.

I just moved to Fort Worth (near Keller) Texas at the end of August. I enjoy walking and swimming. I can only ride a bike for 10- 15 minutes right now so I plan on getting that up to 30. I have 8 kids ages 8-22, and a husband of 23 years. My 21 year old daughter who was home from college was my work out buddy in Aug - Sept and she almost killed me - couldn't quite keep up : )

I am here to try. try, again, - again!

Morning all!! I'm somewhat new to Spark, my daughter got me started a couple of weeks ago. I work full time in administration at our local community college, and have struggled with binge/emotional eating for as long as I can remember. I've tried every diet out there, and have come to the conclusion that I've got to fix the "inside" before the outside will come along. I'm starting out today at 227.4, however, I've lost ten pounds over the past six months.

I've been happily married for over 30 years and have five grown children, and two grandchildren on the way. It's my hope that I be healthy when they arrive!! Although I post my weight daily in my goals page, I love the idea of a virtual weigh in!

Hello all! I am 28yrs old, a teacher turned social worker and single mom to an almost-7-year-old. I'm 5'8" tall and currently 265lbs, a US size 18/20 in clothing. Starting about a dozen years ago, I have gained 6-7lbs a year, but for the last two years that has increased to about a 15lb gain every year, taking me from weighing 170lbs a dozen years ago to about 265lbs now. I joined SP nine years ago, fall of 2005, my sophomore year of college, when I was 190lbs and wanted to lose about 25-30lbs. I have been off and on here since then, but have never lost more than 10-15lbs before losing motivation or falling off the bandwagon dramatically and never getting back on.

I struggle with food addiction/compulsive/emotional eating and find that I have very little self control if junk food is around. Still, even though my house is free of junk food, I end up having some frequently at work because coworkers bring it in. I will also make food late at night that technically isn't junk (chicken quesadilla, eggs and toast, leftovers etc) but is far more calories than a small snack. Having a sedentary office job the past two years has just been the (ironic wording intended) icing on the cake.

I am hoping to end this year at a lighter weight than when the year started. That would be a first in over ten years. I was about 255-257lbs this past January, am 265lbs now and am aiming for under 250 by year's end.

I will weigh in for sure Wednesday morning. My goal is to lose at least 110#. It has been so long since ive been thin I don't know where I should be. Hi Everyone. I'm Stephanie. Over the last 2 yrs I've lost 30 lbs. I'm here looking to lose another 50 and really tone up my body. In May my hubby and I will be celebrating our 10 anniversary, I want to surprise him with a boudoir photo shoot. I don't expect to be skinny but I do expect to be toned and in the best shape I can be. I currently work third shift and plan on exercising when I get up for the day. Hi Debra (baby_girl60), trying hard to lose at least 40 more pounds, I am only 5'0 short person, have a hard time walking up steps, okay going down. However since I started this journey 2 years ago when I weighed 247 lbs., but still have a lot of work to do. My love of Jesus, and my belief in hard work will get me thru. Tracking I think is a great way to achieve my goals so I will be here everyday on my page, with exercise, diet, getting the right amount of sleep. I need a weekly weigh in! I commited a week ago with exercise and eating well. My goal is 25lb. I lost 3.5 as of today. Feeling good, but a little concerned as on Friday we are leaving for 2 weeks vacation. I like Monday weigh in, it keeps me sane over the weekend knowing I have to step on the scale come Monday's!

hi everyone I m new to sparks. but not new to the diet exercise thing. one thing I have learned is this if I call it a "diet" I don't follow it. so I choose to call it my healthy living plan. I'm 47 have 3 great adult children and I'm blessed to be the grand mom of 5 grand kids and several more I've "adopted along the way my goal is a pretty big one. I hope to lose 50 or more pounds. . Hello all. My name is Ban. I am 51 years old and I have 30 lbs to lose to lose. I just stared using the Fitbid and my goal is to reach 10,000 steps a day. I love doing Leslie Sansone's dvds and Turbo Jam. I want to lose 6-8 lbs a month by eating healthy ( protein, fruits and vegetables and eliminating sweets and junk out of my of my diet). Hello, all!

I have been using SP for a few years now, but I'm new to this team. I need someone/something to keep me accountable, to keep me on the right track, and this looks like the right group for that job. I will be 60 this month and it just seems to get harder and harder to keep focused on portions, healthy choices, etc. It's a new day and a new start for me. I'm looking forward to the journey to a transformation of a new, healthier me. I will be logging my progress in on Thursdays (gives me time to recoup from the weekends =)

Hi - I'm Linda. 63 yrs young (almost 64). Have been on SP for years, but lost control of my fitness about 6 years ago. Now I've been able to lose 55 lbs since March of 2013 and have been maintaining for almost a year. Combination of common sense portion control (low fat pescatarian) and lots of exercise (home gym). Need support in keeping accountable and maintaining my goal to stay between 115 (no problem dipping below that) and 120 (little problem edging above that!). I have all the knowledge and tools I need (and then some) and know what to do, but sometimes we still need an outside accountability to stay on track. So - while I've been a member of the "Maintaining" team for several months and participated in two of their challenges, this team also seems like a very good way and efficient way to stay on track and know when adjustments need to be made to achieve same. I am most comfortable at 116-117 lbs, but have recently been through a lot of stressers and have been more like 118-119. Still, so long as I stay below 120 I am happy, healthy, and my clothes all fit.

Hi, I am a 63 year old retired Naval Officer. I won my battle with smoking in 2000 but have faught with my weight my whole life. Keeping it down in the military was a struggle but easier as I had 2 young children to run after as well as some very grueling duties. Since I quit smoking, I have slowly put on 50 pounds in 14 years. That is only 3.57 pounds per year but it does add up. I have tried many times to lose the weight. My DR says at my age, losing a pound a month and keeping it off is a good goal. I am down 16 pounds on my way to my first mini goal off losing 19/ Second goal, lose 30, last goal lose 25 to take me to a weight 15 pounds below what I weighed when I quit smoking. I am excited about SP. I have been here since May 12th, had many ups and downs but I am hoping I am back on the downward trend.

I can do it with your help!

I am a CNA & I take care of my wife who has Multiple Sclerosis & she is a member too.

We have a service dog named Princess Leah she is a Cockapoo

I have relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis & fibromyalgia to top it all off. My goal is to stay slim and out of my wheelchair at all costs also need to stay fit as our daughter & 2 grand daughters are moving to ND from NJ this December 2014

I'm a family caregiver & I also have MS gained to much weight sitting at home we have 7 grand children & thought I should lose weight so I can climb on the playground equipment with them

Good Morning.

I'm not new to Spark or this group, but I'm back. I think I joined this group and may have posted for a week.... maybe? lol I am pretty awesome at not following things through, so I'm going to make a commitment to post here a couple times a week. to try and kick myself into gear.

I've been a member of Spark for 8 years I think? I've gone up and down in the same 25lbs for that entire time. Recently I jumped over that top mark and got almost back up to where I had originally started 10 years ago. I can't be there. I feel like crap all the time and I could tell my body was starting to fight me. I am 100% convinced I had pre-pre-diabetes - if there is such a thing. my glucose wasn't quite high enough to be called pre- but it was close and I felt like crap every time I ate. So I cut out processed carbs for the most part and upped the protein and I feel a little better.

I have managed to lose 16lbs since the end of June but have been struggling this week. So I'm kicking into gear here on Spark, hoping to stick to it for once.

Anywho- Here's to losing!

Hi Everyone,

Looks like I signed up in March.....never did a thing. My a1c went from 6.1-7.1 over the last 6 months. This is unacceptable to me. Am sick and tired of doing this to my body. I am willing to do whatever it takes to develop a healthy life style. One day at a time.

Hi, new to the group, though I started Sparkpeople back in May. I've always liked the accountability of group weigh-in. I weigh more than once a week, just to keep it a habit, but Monday will be my day. I'm a SAHM of two boys and I need the kick-start on Mondays to keep me on track!

Hello, I'm back! I have been in and out of Spark people for several years, but never taken full advantage of all the support here,so now I'm back to back to finally get with it. I decided I needed accountability, so posting my wt is a good way to do that. I have about 70 lbs to lose.

I live in southwest Washington with my husband, I have 3 adult children and 6 grand children, now 1.5 great grands. Most live about an hour away. Hopefully I can make a friend or 2 to support each other.

I'd love to have a workout buddy if any other ladies live near the East Falls Church metro station in Arlington, VA. I don't have a gym membership (not in the budget), but I do love getting outdoors and doing stuff like walking/jogging (not a fast runner by any means) or making up my own "boot camp" circuit to do in the park.

I thought I was pretty tech-savvy, but setting up the SparkPage is stumping me something awful. I'll have to link it to Facebook when I get a chance. My office doesn't allow access to Facebook or any social media sites...but somehow miraculously, SparkPeople slipped through the cracks. I'm glad, because I can still track my food while I'm at work where there's no cell phone signal. emoticon

My SparkPage should be visible now...It took some hunting through the FAQs to figure out why it wasn't linked to my posts. Now y'all should all be able to see it and make friends. :)

Hi, My name is Holly. I am in the Air Force and statione in Nebraska. I have kina let my self go a bit and when I hit 183 last week, it was a breaking point for me. My husband is a health nut so he is helping me achieve my goal. I want to get to my pre baby pre military weight of 130. I am on a 1200-1400 calorie diet with 6 days a week workout. In the last week, I am down to 175.2. I think it may have been just water weight to start off with, but it encourages me anyway. My goal is 5 months, but hoping I can do it sooner than that :)

Hello to my new team! My name is Alexia, I'm 58 years old. I have at least 15 pounds to shed off my body. I have been very stressed for several months and I have put on 10 pounds! I hope I learn some tools to help with my stress, so I won't be going after the bad snacks! I do have a bad knee with osteoarthritis. I had surgery on this knee in 2011. Due to the surgery it now hurts more because the surgery caused the arthritis! My favorite exercise was walking, but walking hurts! I do get on a stationary bike, but this can be very boring! If you have any recommendations for me please let me know! Thank you for your time and I'd love to get to know you!

HI Everyone! My real name is Kim and I joined SparkPeople a while ago, fell away from it and am back now. I want to lose about 100 lbs total, but would will be happy with any sustained weightloss. I am signed up for a half marathon the day before I turn 40, but I recently broke my toe, so I am hoping that I will be able to get in enough training time. I try to stay busy doing lots of things so I keep my mind off of eating, because, of course, I like to eat stuff that is not very good for me... Could be worse!

Hi!
I'd love to if I knew how to do it. Plus I don't even think I have a Spark Page set up! I just got started and have been really busy the last few days so haven't had time to figure out all that is available. I LOVE your picture. My favorite dog ever was a Westie. When he died they nearly had to bury me with him. Right now we have six dogs between us and our adult daughter (lives in the apartment in the basement of our house), but they are all rescues of one sort or another. Just mutts but the youngest ones would have a heart attack if we brought in another competitor for my affection! Hope to get my page set up soon. Thanks!

Hi, I'm Laura. I joined SP a couple of years ago, but fell away from the tracker. I'm back now, and I want to make it stick this time. My little sister is a PT and is acting as my motivational coach via text message, but I'd like to see other people on the same journey as me. I just discovered this team last week. I'm sure it will make me accountable. I am co-leader of the Vegan Fitness and Nutrition Team and have been on Spark for four years. I am 65. My weight yo-yos depending on whether or not I'm training for a half-marathon. I need to treat food as fuel and not entertainment. Would like to lose that ubiquitous ten pounds. This team is working because I have lost 2 pounds this week. I read a lot and Nordic pole-walk. In week six of half-marathon training right now.

Hi I'm Becky! I was a Spark member since 2009 (as REBECKY44) and sadly became a dropout in 2012...shame on me. Now I'm back since 2012. I won't be dropping out again! I'm here for the long haul!

I'm 69, married, retired, and live in N. Calif.. All our 8 of children are grown now we take care of 2 of our youngest granddaughters, ages 2 & 4, 5 days a week, which has been lots of fun!

Walking is my favorite exercise, and when I make time for myself to get out walking, my walking partner is our Westie Buddy!

I'm in my mid-sixtys and am very overweight. Don't know how I have avoided being diabetic because sugar is high. I need to loose 156 lbs and am giving myself 2 yrs to do it but, will take one week at a time. I have been finding so many interesting things on this site. It is amazing.

Hello all. I just found this team. I've been a member of SP since 2011...lost 50#. Then had foot surgery which took such a long time to heal. During that time, I gained 45 # back but have been working on loosing again since the beginning of the year, 2014. I'm hoping to loose the 45# by the end of this year. Right now it doesn't look so good since I'm only down about 10#.

I'm mother to four grown children, twelve grands and 4 great grands. My grands range in age from the 20's down to 2. I'm helping my youngest daughter raise her two, a seven yr old boy and a two yr old girl. I am 67 yr old.

I just joined this team. Have been on the weight loss journey for years.
Going up and down on the scale was disheartening.
I was at 219 pounds over 3 years ago with the help of SP.
Lost a lot of weight like 90 pounds!
Then life happened like a car crashing into my condo.
Had to move out and the stress started me on binge.
That lasted 9 months and 180 pounds later, I came back to SP..
Didn't like looking and feeling like a blimp.
Wanted to make a lifestyle change instead of dieting.

Today I am within 10 to 12 pounds of my goal weight and the weight just isn't coming off.
Have been at a plateau for a while.
Hope joining this team will help me attain what I am determined to get. Slim and trim!

Hello Everyone!!! I am Andie!! I joined spark people friday and so far I am loving it!!! I am a 30, almost 31, mom to 2 wonderful kids and wife to an incredible husband. I have been trying to lose weight for a really long time but it has been difficult, both my kids are under 3, so focusing on me is stuff. Now I am just trying be active with my kids and make healthier food choices for the whole family. so far it has been going pretty good. I have always been one to weigh in once a week, because I would lose focus of the bigger picture and focus on the 3 pounds I gain instead of losing 5 like I wanted. Hey everyone, my name is nicole. I have been a member of SP on and off for years now. I am determined to make this my finale time here. I am 30 yrs old and newly married. My hubby Marco and I eloped so we are now getting around to the wedding part. By the time the wedding hits we will be married for almost a yr. I love him. He is my rock and is just so supportive of not only on this journey but me going back to school too. I want to just feel better about myself. feel sexy again and comfortable in my own body.I used to be one of these exercise junkies but injured my foot and have not been the same since. That is when all the weight came on. I hope to reach my goal this time next year when I finish school

Hi Everyone, my name is Amber I am about to turn 32 and I am from Central Texas, the Hill Country as it is called around here. I recently reignited my spark to loose weight and I have also motivated my husband to join me this time around. We recently quit smoking together after over 10 years together so why not get healthy together too. I have about 60 pounds to lose after three children and a back injury at work left me unable to even walk for more than a few minutes without immense pain. I am using a combination of this site and another site to reach my goals.
