Hello and welcome! We are so glad you joined us on this wonderful site. Lots of info here but it might get overwhelming. Just take it slow and ask as many questions as you want. Don't ever think any question is dumb. Because if it is something you want to know we will sure try to find the correct answer. I am glad they were able to get the tumor and you are okay. Hot flashes are no fun. I started having them myself and it I went to see my Dr. about it. For he is was not ready to do hormone therapy yet. He is trying other medications first. I am on my second one. The first one made me sleep all day and all night. I'm doing better on this one. So if what you are on is not working for you make sure to talk to your Dr.
That tumor was sure one sized baby :-( I'm glad that it has gone!!!
I can understand your suffering from depression - I hope that you are keeping your prescribing Dr informed about where your depression is at, because sometimes we need the meds reviewing. Also, having a Therapist can be very beneficial - if you don't have one it may be appropriate to ask for a referral to one.
ALSO, MAN do you work some hours. I KNOW what it was like because I did similar, too. In ONE WHOLE year once I only had a total of 5 days off. We NEED to learn to take some time out because pushing ourselves like that impacts on us in many ways. I could imagine that with your and your husband working such long hours and with each other, it would impact on your relationship?? How about making one weekend a month where you BOTH have the whole week-end off together and go on a date. It would be marvelous for your relationship and a great stress reliever re your depression!
My name is Janie Nelson. I am 44 years old, I have 2 kids---my son is 25 years old and my daughter is 20 years old. I am married to my best friend, John, for 3 years. I am originally from Roseville, MI and moved to Austin, TX in fall of 2008 and we moved to Biloxi, MS in December, 2009. Love living only 3 minutes from the beach.
I started on my weight loss journey in 2006 at which time I weighed in at 326lbs. It was at a Mary Kay convention in Michigan, when I couldn't take care of myself when I went to the ladies room. I was embarrassed, I went back to my hotel room and when I looked over my clothes and noticed that my clothes were huge. I cried and decided to take my life back into my own hands. Since then, I have yo-yo'd around; in 2010 my lowest weight was 183; however, with stress, time, premenopausal symptoms, and depression; I have gone back up 30 lbs or so.
In August, 2011, I started feeling like I was pregnant---very! However, I just chalked it up as the stress of working alongside my husband 18 hours a day 6 days a week that I was losing control of my self. By Christmas I was feeling extremely pregnant and made an appointment to see my doctor. It turned out that the fibroids tumor that was slowly growing decided to have a growth spurt. On February 22, 2012, exactly (to the day) 25 years after the birth of my son, I gave birth to a 3lbs beign tumor and both of my ovaries had adhesions on them. Now the factory and it's smoke stacks are gone, I have lost 16 lbs (day before surgery i weighed in at 223lbs); but now I am going through hot flashes worse than before and my depression is now on a roller coaster ride. I am taking medications for hormone replacement and for my depression. Oh yeah, I have problems sleeping and taking mess for that too.
Anyway, I am very excited to be apart of this wonderful website. I have tried so many different things to lose weight and for the last 2 years feeling like I need to starve myself just to lose the weight. I can't wait to get back under 200lbs.
I am so looking forward to getting to know everyone.
P.S. I am my husband's administrative assistant and working for him hasn't always been smooth sailing. Lol!
