GETTING FIT FOR GRANDBABY
Hi, I'm Spirit! I moved from Michigan to Colorado to be near my sons in February, 2012. And it's a good thing I did as my first grandchild is due to be born in December! I am over the moon with excitement! After Roux N Y gastric bypass surgery in 2008, I sped 150 lbs, 95% of the weight I had to lose, in one year then gradually put it all back on again because of emotional eating and lack of support. Technically, I'm morbidly obese and malnourished too. Then I had my second major back surgery in 2011 which left me afraid to move as I'm not suppose to lift, bend, or twist or I'll have to do it all over again. So, I am pretty sedentary. Also I take several medications that make it challenging to lose weight. And I comfort myself with food, trying to put myself back to sleep, to energize myself, and to find emotional comfort. Right now, I feel some sense of failure. But personally, I am not a failure. I am a survivor, just giant, economy size! And I will profit as mind and body return to focus and I get on with my dreams! My life is not about failure. I am a published writer of a children's book, a photographer, a Reiki master, an award-winning poet, and a Florida Gator with a master's degree! I taught elementary and middle-school children for 33 years in public, private, and laboratory schools. Best of all, I have two loving sons who really care about me! Although it seems difficult now, I am not giving up! I am getting fit for grandbaby and me! I will regain my health, energy, and enthusiasm! I am determined!

My Program: Phase one: to eat 1200-1500 c. a day 5/7;
to eat 5 fruits & veggies a day:
to eat no less than 60 gmas. protein a day;
to read no less than 2 articles about healthy living a day.;
to read one inspirationsal story a day.
Phase Two: to reduce my nighttime eating by one day a week;
to interrupt binge eating with healthy substitute foods;
to reduce stress by 20% in healthy ways;
to write a blog when I feel worried or stressed at least 3 times a week.
Phase Three: to receive clearance to exercise;
to exercise no less than 5 min/ day;
to exercise 10 min/day by Halloween;
to exercise 15 min./day by Thanksgiving;
to exercise 30 min./day by Christmas;
to exercise 1 hour 3/week by Easter;
to try one less than two new forms of exercise by Christmas;
to encourage one friend to check out the spark program site weekly;
