Glad you came by and voiced your problems and your worry. Remember - you didn't get overweight or unfit in a day, so you can't expect to sort your weight or fitness in a day, either.
It almost sounds as though you have "taken fright" at the thought of landing yourself with a lifetime of having to exercise every day, and going on a diet for the rest of your life. Sparking is so NOT either of those things! Sparking is more about making a gradual change to yourself and your life, learning to make healthy choices, finding help and support, gaining motivation, realising that you are not alone no matter what your mind is throwing at you - to name but a few. You are not going on a diet, here. You are changing your food choices gradually as you learn to eat more healthily. You are not starting a major exercise binge that has to be done for hours everyday. You are changing your life, health and fitness gradually by starting like SoarkGuy with 10 minutes each day. Then adding more time and more activities as you are able.
There are so many ways in SparkPeople to try to motivate yourself - joining a team, making friends, starting a SparkStreak, reading articles, joining a challenge, putting a comment on a team board as you did here...... So please - sit or stand back, get to know the site a bit, have a good look round, and forget your frustrations with yourself that you have just now. As you browse around SP, I'm fairly sure that your stress about joining and about your apparent reaction to joining will fade away, and you will feel more at ease and more ready to take the next steps.
There is always a thread somewhere, in some team, that you can post for help or support. Just try to remember where you left a message, though. That was one of my problems at the start. I posted something, then hadn't a clue how to get back to see if anyone had answered

Step one. Learn the program. Get the book and read it. You can get it at Amazon either On Dead Trees or on Kindle, Apple eBooks, Audible audio books.
Step two. Use the site. You only seem to have been here a very limited amount of time since joining last month.
Step three: Make it all about you! It is important that you change you life and get healthy. Hungry all the time? Eat more filling foods. Healthy protein. Fruits and veggies. Are you using the tracker? It's very helpful to getting in all your nutrients everyday. Make sure you are getting healthy snacks throughout the day so you are spreading out you food so you feel less hungry. Take advantage of the articles in the Healthy Lifestyles section of Spark.
You can do this. You just have to take control.

I joined Spark People last month, but for some reason I am not doing what I am suppose to do. I seem to just want to eat everything in sight and not even exercise. I am turning into someone I don't recognize. I was always ready to exercise and try to watch my eating. I just don't know.
