You all are awesome and thank you for welcoming me. I don't speak up very often, but lately I have had a new attitude in life and speak up for myself. I love the sparkrecipes and the food teacher and weight tracker. I use it everyday. I need to see my results in front of me instead of just remembering.
Hi, Sonya, and I have also been on and off Spark for several years but I came back in May with a new attitude and determined to get all the way to my goal this time. I am doing well and I attribute it to faithfully using my nutrition tracker every single day - it is my lifeline because it keeps me honest with myself and accountable for my choices. Eating out is not good for the waistline - at least that's the conclusion I've come to Along with the unbelievable fat content of most restaurant food, sodium is another huge issue. We can pass up the bread basket or the tortilla bowl, but how do we get around what is already cooked into everything. I think the real eye-opener for me was when I started reading articles about the fat and calories that are hidden even in salads at restaurants and fast food places Sonya as a young mother, every good change you make in your relationship with food is going to carry over to your children. Getting back on Spark and doing this for YOU is also a great thing you are doing for THEM

You are on the right track just keep your head up and remember why you are doing this. You are right you are the only one that can make a difference in your health. Spend time going through the recipes here on SP and try the ones that you think you will like the best based on what your favorite foods are. The recipes here are slimmed down but that doesn't mean they have less flavor. Good luck on your journey.
My name is Sonya and I am live in Texas. I have decided once again to lose weight and get healthier. I have had time to think about things and realized that I am not getting any healthier and I am not happy with the way I look and feel. I wanted this summer to be different. I wanted to fit into shorts and tank tops and feel comfortable. I havent done that and the summer is almost over. :-( But I am not gonna let that get me down because instead of being bummed about it, I need to get off my butt and make it happen! I realized that I have been going out to eat a lot, and not only is that taking money away from healthy food that I can make at home, its taking money away from me being able to buy new clothes. It's also not helping me with my weightloss. I'm tired of the way I feel and no one can change that but me. So here goes my first sparkpeople post. Have a blessed day everyone.
