You have taken the first step to health and weight loss by becoming a member of SparkPeople. Since you were athletic you know that muscle will make numbers higher on the scale sometimes but you will see and feel the fat loss - see it in the mirror and feel it in your clothes. Stick with your plan and use the tools that are at your disposal here - keep posting because it is a source of encouragement and as a bonus you'll make friends along the way who understand you because they are on the same journey you are on. Most of all have fun - this is something you are doing for you!
