Sassy, I'm a newbie (1 week) with Sparkpeople and I have a few recommendation.....1) Order the cookbook! It makes your meals simple and very flavorful instead of bland. 2). Start walking a little at a time. I just had double bypass surgery 3 weeks ago and walked 240 ft the first day and today I will walk 2.5 miles. Make sure you take it slow walking 3 days per week with a days rest in between. Follow the advice of my Fitness 3). Sign up for your teams and the e-mails that go with them. You'll receive very insightful information. Good luck and I wish you all the success! emoticon

You have good motivation because you want better for your family, but you also want a better life for yourself. We're all here to help you. Hi all, Just starting on Spark need help in keeping motivated to make my ultimate goal of being healthy and 95 pounds lighter by the time I reach 50 in about 17 months. I want off the weight roller coaster and to be healthy for life.I have a wonderful family, and need to set an example so they do not have the struggles that I have to overcome. I still have kids and want to be able to see them graduate high school, become successful adults, and get grandbabies (SOME DAY, NOT SOON PLEASE) LOL open to all suggestions support. I love to cook and have a bunch of different likes! So thanks for all input in advance I look forward to a successful journey!
