Hi I'm Joanne and i live in Pasadena Texas (just outside of Houston). I am looking forward to joining in the May challenges. I think challenges are what keep me motivated. I had lost 40+ pounds and put 20 of them back on. I am determined to get back down and learn to maintain!

Hi, I'm Jan and looking for more challenges to keep my motivation up, and I came across this team. Looks great !! I've been with SP since early last year and have come a LONG way since then. I still have a way to go to get to my goal though, so I hope I can continue to get help AND help others along the way. I'm in my 50s, married with 2 grown sons in early 20s, both still at home (which I'm happy about). I have a German shepherd 'puppy' (almost 2) who is my baby girl and my walking buddy.

Hi everyone again I am really sorry that I hope it's still ok to be here. I had joined and been doing the (exercising and food tracking) but couldn't find were I was to go, also I don't have the internet at home anymore it got to expensive. So I now go to the library when I can. And I have been trying to get caught back up on here at SP! I am Moya I just had my birthday Jan.6 ( GREASYJOAN) I had joined SP at the end of May 2012 A nurse friend told me about it. I had lost my weight before (but I am a stress eater) and that's what I do, trying not to but sometimes it doesn't go so well I have 3 daughters 25,23 and 19 The baby jest went off to college so she said that it's my time. Not resolutions decision. A friend told no try do" Yoda" I hope this is ok?

So finally I have some time to sit and introduce myself. My name is Dee and I turn 59 years young next month. I've been on this journey to good health for a very long time. I have been with SparkPeople since 2006. Hard to believe it as I type it! I too have been looking for a team that is straightforward and motivates! I just may have found it! I have been married to husband #2 (alias my Prince) since 1994 and have 2 grown chidren that have blessed me with 2 grandbabies each. They are the reward for raising their parents!! LOL! I joined a local weight loss clinic in Nov of 2011 and they have helped me lose 30 pounds that put me just 20 more to my goal. The last 16 weeks end in April and then maintenance begins. And I mean it this time!!! I am playing in a golf league with my brother in April and I need to be fit and ready to go! Glad I found you guys!!!

I'm Michele. I will turn 49 this year, my husband and I just celebrated our 20th anniversay and we have no children, unless you count the furry 4 legged ones. We run our own small business that is seasonal and I can work some crazy hours in the fall. The last fall was more than normal and I fell off track and have gained back the weight I lost. I joined this team because I need motivation to get started on this again and take this extra weight off.

hello all, I am married, have 2 kids and work full time. My sister lives with me. We are all making the choice to do eat healthier. I have made some New Years resolutions, which require me to spend me time doing this for myself. Which include, working out and not feeling selfish, more time scapbooking, delegating chores etc. So I am hoping that this year will be much more relaxing and allow me to reach my goals.

I thought I'd pop my head in the door and say hello. I am eagerly awaiting January 6th for two reasons: 1) we start here 2) It is my 40th wedding anniversary!

HI! My name is Candy. I am a wife, mom and grandmother. I am a case manager at a state prison. I have been "doing time" for over 20 years. LOL I will be turning 50 in 2013 and that doesn't bother me at all. Life is good at 49. 50 Should be even better! I like to hike, ride bicycles and kayak. I am pretty competitive. Hi everyone! My name is Jen. I live in New Jersey with my hubby to whom I been married for 39 going on to 40 years.We have three children - a son and 2 daughters - who have blessed us with 7 grand children. I have been struggling with my weight for the past 20 years! I have lost and regain the weight which was lost far too many times. Rose - there are 2 initiatives going on - both simple. One is a weight loss competition which one can join by self or as a team. The other is the January challenges stuff.
You might as well sign up for both. We are all here for support and motivation.

Helloo! I checked out the official SparkPeople challenge for January but chose this one because it seems very straightforward and doable. Easily intimidated here by too many complications lol. I read through the weekly challenges for January - perfect! Thanks for starting the team. I can't quite figure out where the "teams" within the team fit in. Does that part start in Spring? I'll go look at the FAQ sections. I'm the mother of two grown kids, a special ed teacher and have eating disorder in my past (and unhealthy "relationship with food" in my present, trust me). I did the same thing with my second. I just didn't keep it up while I was pregnant. Try to keep up with the healthy eating and exercise while you are pregnant, so the weight will come off faster after the baby.
