Hi All. I go by Diddi (did dee). I live in AZ and have 230 lbs to lose. I'm down 19 so far, another 211 to go. Life has been complicated with debilitating back pain for the past 2 years and still no firm diagnosis. I am working on losing weight to see if it helps the pain. Exercise is challenging as my left foot has developed a problem where its painful to walk. Its not broken or sprained but it cramps and hurts to walk on. For exercise I'm doing yoga and walking as much as I can.

I have found I need external motivators (such as a challenge) to keep me focused. My spouse and daughter are doing a 5K this month and I want to eventually be able to join them.

Hi...my name is Kelly and I am from NE Ohio. I have quite a bit of weight to lose (over 100 lbs) but with time and patience I will get there. My husband and I recently purchased the Fitbit Flex along with a Total Gym so that we can work out in our home and keep track of our steps and activity. Last month I lost about 20 lbs and logged 1187 minutes of fitness which is fantastic since I was basically becoming couch potato. Starting to feel much better and getting energy that I have lacked for quite awhile. Look forward to joining some challenges to help keep up my motivation.

Hi Everyone - Awesome to see new members. I am the team co-lead with Candy. I slacking off a bit - just got back from week long vacation.

Jump in on the team challenges - pretty self explanatory!
Share ideas you may have for August.

The purpose of this team is to help keep us heading in the right direction. I eat right and exercise 70% of the time resulting in a slow weight loss. I sometimes go through highly motivated spurts and sometimes I go a little nuts.

Hi RaiRai!!!! Welcome to our team!!! A few months back we added the team challenges to our individual challenges and I think it has made it really fun. Sometimes we find that we will work harder for the team than we would for ourselves so that is a good motivator. Also you will find that we are not judgmental. if you are struggling, keep showing up, because that is when you need the team the most.

I am new to the team today. I have jumped in with both feet, already contributing to the team challenges for July. I like the idea of a team with motivation and challenges that doesn't require a huge time commitment for posting, tracking, point counting, etc., because when fall classes start up in August, my time will be severely limited.

I prefer as much anonymity on the 'net as possible, so I will stick with my gaming screen name of Raihala. One of my friends gave me a nickname of RaiRai (pronounced Ray-Ray), so you can use that if you wish. =)

I have a big motivation (besides the obvious of getting healthy) to finally lose this weight because in just over a year I will have to start interviewing for graduate/professional school.

I look forward to chatting, cheering others on, and encouraging each other to reach our goals.

Hey everyone!

I'm Cynthia. I am a new mommy and my 4 month old son Xander keeps me busy all day long. I am trying to fit in exercises when I can so I can get into shape. I am looking forward to staying on track with healthier fitness and nutrition habits this year. I bought the tracker so that I can monitor my steps throughout the day and keep me honest about my activity levels. I recently completed 30 day challenges for squats, push ups and crunches. So, to keep up those skills, I am doing 25 pushups, 75 crunches and 100 squats, 5 times a week. I am also doing exercise videos at home and hope to get to the gym occasionally, though finding the time for that is difficult. I am also trying out a bunch of new recipes that are lower in fat and calories. My short term goals are to lose about 30 pounds and run a 5k by this fall.

There are several threads going. Whichever challenges, you would like to join just go to that thread and post what you did. It can be a bit of work to go to each thread but it is also like patting yourself on the back several times. LOL I also find that even though I maybe struggling with something, seeing others be successful motivates me. I hope this helps!!!

I'm Dawn. I'm here because someone put a little bug in my ear that there is a fearless leader on this team who is more witty and charming than another (unnamed) leader I know.... emoticon I just couldn't RESIST checking it out!!! emoticon

Well, I'm a 46 yr old caregiver to my ex-husband, who has been thru radiation for cancer, (was declared disease free as of Dec 2012 PET scan... still doing follow ups...) and end stage liver disease. (This is a much bigger problem...) SO... I moved from Kansas to Iowa just about a year ago. Quit my dream job, left my best friends and one of my kids and 3 of my grandbabies, (oh, and her hubby and their daddy), to move here, (where I have a son here in town, and another daughter and two more grandbabies about 2 hrs away) (OH, and her hubby and their daddy).... so.. here I am... In IOWA. (GO CYCLONES!!!!) emoticon I was actually raised here so in many ways it's like coming home, but I don't know alot of people here and between taking care of Mark and doing some online college classes, I keep pretty busy right here at home.... so I don't get out much. Well, in the last year, I probably put on at least 20 lbs, maybe more... but that's a drop in the bucket to where I started even then..... SO.. here I am. emoticon

I did a sparkpeople reset on June 1st and am going at this with every fiber of my being. This month I've gone from being nearly sedentary, (we don't do alot around here, usually he sleeps on the sofa and I sit in the recliner, crocheting and tending to any needs he might have) to joining Curves, working out (so far about 4 times a week, working on upping that), and eating a WHOLE lot better than I have been. (I got real lazy and we were doing alot of take out and alot of junk.) SO..... I'm on a couple other groups, but here I am on this one now.... not sure how much participation there will be the first couple weeks, trying to get caught back up on summer classes and between that, curves, and a slew of dr. appointments coming up, I'm likely to be crazy busy. emoticon But I'll make it. emoticon

Glad to have found this team and look forward to getting to know you all... I'll be reading, even if it's just lurking in the background for now!!! =)

Hello! My name is Dawn. I live about 45 minutes east of Cincinnati, OH. I am 39 years old. I am a single mom of 3 children (9,11, &17). I have been struggling with my weight for several years now and I realized that I have to put myself first. I want to have energy to play with my children. I deserve to be happy and healthy.
