Morning BePresent1

No worries. You can click on the topic (top) link that falls under the forum title with the same name Introduce Yourself to Team Forum. Once you have pulled the topic up you can either hit reply at the the top (in the orange bar) or if replying to someone in particular, hit the reply under their name next to their post. I am not the best at directions:)

I am still learning things on this site. You are not alone. Don't worry if it goes under the wrong area either, we'll find you;) hee hee You can always start a new topic too. The topics that remain at the top are "sticky topics" so that they are always available and don't get lost in the shuffle.

How is it going?

Thanks for the welcome K and Lowfatfoodie !
I was trying to put my intro posting in the other topic thread, and not create a new topic.
What should I have cilcked on to put a posting in the same topic thread as the one that has all the intros?

Welcome Anita!

I am sorry to hear about the health issues. My mother had breast cancer. Although not pre-diabetic (yet) I was shocked at the last physical. My cholesterol had spiked in the last year. Not in the danger zone, but enough that I knew I had to make some changes. I'm a 44-year old who wants to get into the "healthy" range and ward off problems that come as a result of my previous not so healthy choices.

We're here for you! I am in week 6. BTW...love your ticker. Great idea.

Look forward to getting to know you:) Here's to health and enjoying the journey!

Hi -
I just joined Sparkpeople and this team to get the support.
I am doing Jamie Eason Live Fit, am at Phase 1 - Week 4.
Doing Week 4 a second time because I was a slacker on working out.

Some background info:
Name: Anita
Age: over 40
My goal: reduce inches around waist and get into habit of meal planning & the "addiction" of working out

My motivation: "If not now, then when?"
I was diagnosed 4 years ago with breast cancer and got treatment and also was found to be pre-diabetic. I never made any changes in my lifestyle. But two facts stuck in my head:
1) weight gain is related to recurrence and my oncologist told me what my maximum weight need to be. ( Four weeks ago I was 3 pounds away from that number.)
2) pre-diabetic condition can lead to diabetes in 10 years if no changes are made
So - I thought, it has been four years and four years have passed, and I have not made any changes - if not now, then when?

Thanks!
