Hi Everyone! I'm new here and I am looking forward to starting the 12-week challenge on Monday, December 12th. I spent some time today going over the entire program, and the only thing I think I may have an issue with NO CARDIO during the first phase. LOL! I am so used to doing some type of cardio at some point during a week, BUT I am still excited to start this program. I've always loved Jamie over the years and have followed her workouts in the past. Over the past two years, I've kinda let myself go a bit.... I've gained at least 25 pounds (slowly) and I don't even know it! I've always hidden any weight gain pretty well in my lower body, so I never fully noticed any gain UNTIL recently when I noticed that NOTHING in my closet fits anymore. Even my trusty pair of size 14 jeans which always fit me nicely because I was actually a 12. But now, those jeans are put away...sadly. I REFUSE to become comfortable in a 14 or higher! So....this is where I begin. Wish me luck!emoticon

Be your own kind of BEAUTIFUL!

Hi, new to this team and to the Livefit program. I just found it today and I am already getting ready to start it tomorrow morning. I have been strength training off and on since high school. I love it and I know that it helps me to lose weight. So I thought that this would be perfect. I am a little nervous about the eating portion as I am a huge snacker (unhealthy snacker). Maybe the eating every three hours will be helpful with this problem.

Hi! I'm Celeste. I'm a mom of two awesome kids, who make me crazy and help me stay sane...all at the same time! lol! I lost almost all of my baby weight since having my son, but I'm looking to tighten and tone up, and get rid of the last few pounds (why are the last few always the hardest?!). I did day one today, and it was a great workout! :)

Hello Everyone!

I'm just finishing week 2 of phase 1, I didn't find this group until now! This is the first serious strength training I've ever done except Yoga and BodyRock which is only body weight (and occasionally a sandbag), so I'm really hoping this will get me quite a bit stronger than I've ever been, and my goal is to have more muscle definition.

About a week and a half ago I injured my knees, one much worse than the other, so I can't do any of the lower body workouts right now. So I've just been doing everything but and I figure I can just start from the beginning with the lower body once I can. The diet has been tough, I'm a vegetarian and she most just lists lean meats for a lot of proteins. I've made her pumpkin and cinnamon swirl protein bars, and I STRONGLY recommend the pumpkin, super delicious!

Hey Everyone! My name is Kelley; I'm from San Antonio, and I'm 26. I've been on an off of various diets, workout regimines and weight loss supplements for over 10 years.
My major goal is to finally find something that actually works for me, that I can stick with and makes me healthy, not just lighter. Of course, I'd like to lose weight, gain muscle as well..

Welcome Geopenguin and Bookgirl! Bookgirl, I wanted to mention that in Phase 1 I followed the plan close to written. But in Phase 2 I decided to make drastic changes to my diet. I've been reading lots of pro-vegetarian/vegan nutrition books and have been cutting back drastically on all animal products.

You have two options to build muscle. First of all, you have to lift super heavy to build muscle. If haven't been lifting heavy before, you can still build muscle with lower amounts of protein. I'm not supplementing at all and am only at about 20% of calories for protein. Or you can supplement protein to up your protein either with whey, soy, or vegan protein powders.

For advanced lifters, I'm not an expert so I don't know what the minimum amount of protein to continue to build muscle would be.

Hello Sparklers! I am really interested in joining this program. I would love to build muscle as I slim down. The workout routines look great and I am already used to eating 5-6 smaller meals a day. However, I am not a big meat eater. I do eat meat, but usually only 2-3 times a week. I am wondering if anyone has tips on how to meet the protein requirements. I am also wondering how everyone likes the program. I am used to mainly cardio workouts. Hope to start soon. I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hi Sparkies.. I'm Rhonda... new to the team and member number 450! I'm 55 going to be 56 next month :o( lol. I have been taking body blast (strength training) classes at the gym for a couple of years but am looking to ramp it up a bit more. I'm really hoping to firm up and build muscle ~ but I have a lot of loose skin from losing 75+ pounds and that is probably something I will just have to live with. Very excited to find this program and it's free... yeah!

Hello everyone,

My name is Cathy. I am 43 yrs old, a wife, and a mother of 3. Although I was not at my ideal weight, I was well on my way back in June. Summer came and many things threw me off my game. I also seemed to have been suffering from serious back problems. I've put on about 5-7lbs and loss of muscle mass. So I'm back to work and taking a totally different approach - will not be beating myself up if I fail one day, as I've done in the past. I will just continue. My reasons are different - I want to be healthy and fit - bonus bikini body or Jamie's body will do too. :)

So Day One starts tomorrow for me. I do have some shopping to do, but could manage a few days with what I have.

Wish me luck - I don't belong to a gym - so not sure how I'll do some of the exercises. will be doing some research.

Good luck everyone!

Hello. I'm 30 and have not seen changes in my body composition for a while - so I am on week 2 of Jamie Eason's program. I am really enjoying the heavy lifting, eating every 2-3hours so I am never hungry, and the break from cardio! I hope to lose 10 lbs i have gained since dating my fiance :), and tone up. thanks for the motivation everyone!

I'm not ready to start the programme yet (in the middle of another training programme) but have started adopting some of the dietary guidelines and doing some shopping. I really need to make some changes, I've been so close to my goal weight, but with much partying on the weekend, this is no longer the case.

So, getting serious about the diet from the 3rd October, and then the workout plan 3 weeks later. That's the plan atm.

Hi everyone!

I'm starting this program on October 1st, but taking a couple days before to get myself prepared! I'm really excited about starting this and I'm hoping that by joining this team we can help each other stay motivated!

My goal is to build muscle and start eating cleaner! I'm not sure how closely I will be able to follow the meal plan that is set up in the program due to living with other people, but I will do my best to stay as close to it as possible!

Hope to get to know some of you soon and good luck to everyone already started or in the middle of the program!

Hi everyone! My name is Laurie, I am 31 years old. I am married and we have a son who is 6. Today is the start of Week 2 for me. I consider myself to be what Jamie calls "Skinny Fat." I have never really been toned, just thin-ish by standards of weight. So, I am looking forward to seeing positive changes in my body by doing weight training instead of mostly cardio.

I am in the military, currently deployed in Afghanistan. It has been a challenge for me as far as diet because the dining facility here does not always have fresh vegetables, and most of the food they serve comes out of the fryer or a package. I am an "emotional" eater and eat when I am bored, tired etc. That will play a big part into my success of this program- healthy eating every few hours and not mindlessly snacking.

It is going to be difficult for me to not do cardio in these first few weeks. I understand Jamie's thought process behind it, but part of me feels like there is no way I will see results without doing cardio. I will trust in the program and watch my eating. I am very excited to have this forum as a tool for support and encouragement. I wish everyone the best of luck as we make these changes in our lives!

Hi, My name is Tina. I have one son, Connor who is 11 and a wonderful husband of 14 years. I just turned forty in June and want my forties to be the best yet! I am on my second week and feeling great! I did chest and biceps this morning. I have also been running once a week. My diet hasn't been the best but it is much better than before I started the challenge. My goal is to be a hot-sexy momma by the end of twelve weeks!

I am a mom of two: a preschooler and a toddler. They keep me hopping. And I'm hoping to get pregnant sometime in the next year. They are a huge motivation for me and reason behind my joining this challenge. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue and so am often lying down in pain. In the past my symptoms get much better with regular exercise, and so that is also a motivation. I want to be strong enough and have the energy I need to keep up with my kiddos. And if I get pregnant in the next year, I want it to be my healthiest and fittest pregnancy yet. I want to be one of those pregnant ladies jogging down the road that people raise their eyebrows at.

And of course, I want to lose the belly flub, be more comfortable in my clothes, and be as sexy on the outside as I think I am. It's funny. Back in my 20s as a single gal I was a hottie. at least, I liked what I saw in the mirror. And now I still think of myself as looking that way, and when I look in the mirror nowadays I always get a bit of a shock. That's not me! Where'd I go? Skinny me is hiding in here somewhere, and I just want to let her out.

Not sure, but I thought I introduced myself a couple of weeks ago. I am a mother of 2 (26 yr old daughter - expecting in April 2012, YEAH! and a 16yr old son...oh a 25 yr old son-in-law, love him!). I work for USDA in Washington, DC, love to travel, dance, cook, and go to sporting events. I also enjoy working out. My profile picture is of me 3 years ago. I want to get down to that weight again, BUT I want to be stronger and leaner. I believe that by following Jamie Eason's plan, eating clean, and getting enough sleep, I will be able to accomplish my first goal of losing 20 pounds before Christmas. I would love fast results, but slow and steady is the trick. It's like chipping away at a huge chunk of marble, that requires refining and polishing to become a masterpiece. That's me...a masterpiece in the making.

Hi!

My name is Kayte and I have decided to join this challenge as a way to prepare for my wedding on April 21st, 2012.

I've started running recently which I have enjoyed but I noticed although I felt good, I wasn't changing the way I thought I would. I'm tired and hungry but not really all that much smaller. I used to strength train in the past and I remember it made a big difference in m physique. I'm determined to get those results again in time for my engagement photos and my wedding day.

I know I have a toned, slim hottie, trapped inside me- I feel awesome and beautiful after a workout and then I catch myself in a mirror- a terrible shock! My fiance is extremely supportive about my decision to join this challenge which is helpful because I am in charge of what we eat in our household! :)

I look forward to getting to know all of my new team members and cheering on everybody's milestones.

Hi everyone! I've been eyeballing this plan for a while now, and finally decided to give it a whirl. I was following another program recently and really enjoyed strength training, but wanted to change things up a bit. LiveFit it is!

I don't have a gym membership or a home gym/machines, but I think I can adapt most of the exercises with what I have (adjustable dumbbells, barbell, resistance band, stability ball, medicine ball). I've been looking up what you all have been doing to adjust for working out at home. Hopefully it'll be enough.

I was really hoping to drop 10 pounds by mid-October, but had a set back when I tweaked my back two weeks ago and couldn't move. But I'm feeling better and am really excited to get started. Looking forward to chatting with you all about it!

In June I had knee surgery to repair a tear in my meniscus. I was on crutches for a month and a half (non weight bearing), so my muscle tone in my right knee is shot to hades. I am excited to start a program that will help me regain my muscle tone AND help me to demolish the weight I have picked up. I am a little concerned about not doing any cardio for the first phase, but I will try it.

I love plans and I love direction and am looking forward to doing this as a team!

Hello!
I've been out of commission for 3 months due to a back injury and I think this plan will be a good guide to get back to working out regularly. The fact that for the first month there is no cardio it's even better for me since I'm still not allowed to.

My goals for the next 3 months are to get back into a workout routine, to tone back my muscles since I've lost a lot of muscle mass in the 3 months that I've not been working out. It's amazing how fast hard work disappears when you're not working out. I also want to clean my diet. I was doing really good in the first 2 months of my injury, eating clean and all since that was the one thing I could control but I've slacked big time in August and gained 5lbs. Overall I want to finish the year strong I would like to take "loose the last ___ lbs" off my resolution list at the beginning of the year. And if I don't loose that much at least I want to be looking toned and strong.

Hello Everyone,
I'm very excited to start. I kind of started yesterday, but hadn't gone to the store so it wasn't perfect. I went to the store today, make chocolate protein bars and will make turkey muffins tomorrow. I'm a 34 year old stay at home mom of 4 boys. So excited to "build" my body. :)

Hey new members! WELCOME! emoticon

We're so excited to have you on board! Be sure to utilize the support and tools available to you on this team, and don't be afraid to start a new thread for questions, ideas, links, or successes!

JODILYN- I know a lot of people are worried about the no cardio aspect and the 1 day of abs... but I'd recommend trusting Jamie. She seems to know how to keep herself looking amazing, so I trust she knows how to help us too! Once you get started on the ST program, you'll notice that your abs may feel sore even on days with NO "ab specific training." Focus on engaging your core in EVERY exercise-- from standing straight with bicep curls, holding your abs in during push-ups, an so far-- and you'll be amazed by how much they get worked out without crunches!!

This program looks amazing. I am a mother of 2. I have been trying to lose the last 15 lbs for 2 years. I am not out of shape but nothing seems to be working. I am the cardio queen. I am nervous about only strength for the first phase. Also only abs for 1 day seems scary. But I need to trust this program cause I m fed up!

Just joined the team. I know jamie eason as a fitness model in Oxygen magazine. I didn't realize that she was a trainer as well. The program looks good but I won't be able to start until I have completed supreme 90. So, i will check back in when I have completed that round of exercises.

My name is Crystal and I am 36. I am starting the 12 week challenge tomorrow. I have started batch cooking today and will finish up batch cooking after work today. There is so much I am nervous about, but her nutritional advice is sound. She also looks AMAZING, so it works. I am glad there is a group so we can motivate each other.

Hi all! I have followed phase 1 this week! Eating clean makes me confident and feel so energized. This weekend I have gone off track, I think it is the 3 days rest so next week I am going to break it up a little and focus on eating clean all week long!!

Hello Everyone!!

I am sooo happy that this group exists. I am starting this program, Monday August 29 and I am looking to lose weight and tone up. Iím going to be reading your success stories etc to keep me motivated so please post! In the past, when I started a program (usually one from bodybuilding.com), I would end up ďaccidentallyĒ quitting after 2 weeks, I think that if I would have had a friend doing it with me it would have been easier. It is time to follow through, we are in this together !! get ready for SMOKING HOT BODIES people!!!

Hi everyone, glad to see so many other people are following Jamie's Livefit trainer! I'm new to lifting weights and Jamie's trainer has proved to be a great introduction. I have to say - I absolutely love it!! I'm mainly looking to lose fat and build muscle, and can't wait to see the result at the end of the 12 weeks. Best of luck to everyone else emoticon

Hello! I am starting this challenge on Monday September 29th. I am going to the grocery store tonight and I have my menu's all planned out. I don't like eating the same thing's over and over again, so I have made up some of my own foods, hoping to stay within the guidelines. The only thing that I am having trouble with is the no cardio. I like to run and I am not sure how I am going to hold myself back from not running.

I know how to eat clean it is just that I want to tone up. I do sometimes get lazy with my eating and will start snacking and stuff. I hope to be able to check in daily with spark people and get this done this time!!!

My name is Amanda and I first saw this program on bodybuilding.com. I've been on Spark for almost a year now and have managed to lose 30 pounds. I still have about 20 to go so I'm really looking forward to this program helping me learn how to eat clean it's what I struggle with the most. I'm also hoping to gain some amazing muscle and to feel good in my own skin again.

Hi! I'm Meagan.

My friend (who will hopefully join this also) is into clean eating & JE, told me about this team

Hoever I'm new to clean eating, sparkpeople, & Jamie Eason, but off we go!

I lost weight before on an expensive, totally un-clean diet, I lost about 100lbs. But got lazy then pregnant, then busy & lazy & here we are. I turn 30 this October & my daughter will be 2 in November.

I'm not looking for a miracle, I know its hard work & I'm willing to put in the effort & get serious.

Hoping this team helps keeps me acocuntable

Good luck everyone!

Oh yah & I'm starting on Monday

Hi! My name is Jean and I am a fan of Fit-Whit and learned about this from her blogs. I'm still waiting for the recipes from Whitney's food prep blog this weekend.emoticon

I have been on Spark for several years, but never really got involved. I'm hoping for more involvement with this team and feel that will keep me more accountable.

Also, my daughter is getting married in 7 weeks and would like to lose about 10 pounds and gain some muscle before the wedding.

My daughter turned 1 year in August. And being limited on time, I am always looking for quick effective workouts. I'm always looking for new ideas on cleaning up my nutrition.

My goals - to stay active and be as healthy as i can be for my family. Long term goal - get down to about 10% fat. Help my wife lose the baby fat by making her exercise regime fun.

WELCOME to all the new members!! Thanks for introducing yourselves to the team-- I look forward to getting to "know" you all through our support group!

Make sure to utilize the forums and start new threads for discussion or questions if you have them. The HELP forum should be used for questions and support. There is also a RECIPES thread in general forum for us to share our clean-eating creations!!

Mandie-- I struggle a lot with keeping clean food around, too! Maybe you will find some great ideas in our recipe section!

-Whitney

Hi . I'm Ree. I'm 23 years old and a mum of two. I saw this challenge through Fit Whits Blog. Looks really good. I'm going to do it from home with some resistance bands and weights. I had already started the C25k programme so will still be running three times a week as well.
My biggest goal will be sticking to the Food plan. Need to get some good recipes for the protein bars etc.
I will be starting when i get my Resistance bands :D

Hi, my name is Janee' and I am older than most of you at 53, but looking forward to starting this on Sept 4th. I have some events this weekend and also need to prepare before I start. i will be using the gym and home workouts. My biggest problem is eating clean. My husband and I have busy lifestyles that do not allow for a lot of home time. I believe the key will be in getting and being prepared. Looking forward to keeping up with you Sparkies and remember hopefully encourage others as I am encouraged by all of you.emoticon

Hi All - I'm Shenz. I'm actually also part of the FB group. LoL. I thought about looking for a group in sparkpeople when I started this - to find out in Ms. Eason's FB that there's a group in here!! Woohoo!! Anyway - good luck everyone!!

Day 1 wasn't so bad when it comes to training. Food - still feel that it's a lot but I'm sure I'll get used to it!

Hi my name is April and Iím going to start the Challenge on September 4th. My hubby and I are taking a long weekend and I know I will not get to the gym during that time. My goal is to complete the challenge 100% including the workouts and eating 100% clean. Neither is a totally new concept to me, I just need to follow through for more than a few weeks
