Hi y'all, I am Keesha. I am restarting the Insanity Program- I typically jump start it at the beginning of the year as a good kick start and motivator. The problem is I get to Day 30 and then I move on to another workout. So my goal this year is to finally complete the FULL program.

Looking for this group to assist in the motivation.

Keesha

"If you must begin then go all the way, because if you begin and quit, the unfinished business you have left behind begins to haunt you all the time."

Goal: run 30 minutes every other day

Goal: 25/25/25 (pushups/crunches/squats) every day

Goal: Be mindful of my portion intake

Goal: Drink 8 glasses of water a day

Goal: Be happy with being me!

Welcome AndreaG89 ! Thanks for the modification tips. Modification is a good idea until you get stronger and lighter. Month 1 workouts are conditioning and will get you ready for Month 2 workouts. Many of the Insanity exercises that you may not have to modify (High knees is one) work your core, which makes you stronger and shrinks your upper abs. I started seeing my jackets fit better around day 10 ! ( Just Remember as you get lighter that LOWER abs are always harder for us as women).

The most important thing is pushing "play" every day. Don't guilt yourself if you have to miss a workout, just pick up the next day and move on.

Eating healthy is important too. I followed the book that comes with Insanity for the first month until I learned what "healthy" foods I liked !

You can do it ! We are here for questions, discussions, tips any time ! Welcome !

Hi there!

I'm a newbie to Insanity but not to SparkPeople.

I am 60 lbs overweight, and figured since watching the commercial of the woman who was 100+ lbs overweight who did it, I thought I could too.

I did the fitness test on 1/1 and started it today with the day 2 (cardio plyometric, I believe). I modify ALL of the workout. This means when there is jumping, I do NO jumping. My jumping jacks are modified, the squat jumps are modified, and today, even the squat down into push-ups were modified so that I did push-ups against a desk. I still felt the burn EVERYWHERE, and know that when I get stronger, the jumping may be an option. But due to the pounding on my knees, I've opted to be kinder to them by going low-impact.

I'm excited about having a program to follow, and recognize that when the kids' Christmas break is over and I'm back to work that making time for this will be important. Next week I believe I will get my daughter off to school (bus comes at 6:30) and I will head to the basement to do my workout, emerge to the upper floor around 7:30 where I will help my son get his bus at 8:00, which is also when I start working (I work from home most of the time).

I think the key to my success will be to look ahead at the week to ensure I get the workouts scheduled into each day.

Thanks for the tip about the weight. I will pay attention to the scale but moreso how my clothes fit. I have plenty in my closet that will serve as a good indicator of the fat loss.

Best wishes to all of you!
AndreaG89

Hi Settimia and welcome !

Month 1 Insanity workouts are around 40 minutes. There is about a 9 minute warm up, then stretching, then the circuits concluded by a final short stretching.

Month 2 workouts are 55 - 59 minutes long and are quite intense. They follow the same format; warmup, stretching, workout, stretching.

You can do it in a small space. You may have to modify the "hit the floor", "1, 2, 3 heisman" and "moving pushups", but you can and still get results. Some of the exercises are: jumping Jacks, high knees, pushups, switch kicks, tuck jumps, power jumps, many versions of squats, lunges and more pushups.

I am concerned about your knees though. Do you have knee problems/injuries or simply soreness? Insanity has a lot of jumping and there is a lot of impact even though he coaches all the way through the workouts to "land softly". I encourage everyone to move in a controlled manner so that you protect your knees, but the fact is there is a lot of jumping and you may experience some more knee pain/soreness with Insanity.

Overall Insanity is a GREAT workout and it does deliver results. I have done the entire 60 day workout 3 times this year and am now on "maintenance", so I mix up the workouts and have added "Insane Abs" and "Upper Body Weight Training". I started at 149 and am now at 129 or so - but - also I stopped getting on the scale early on because you build muscle with this workout and you may not see the scale nosedive like you want. It's deceiving because your body is shrinking even though the scale may not be moving drastically because you're building muscle.

You also need to eat well. Follow the meal book that comes with Insanity, it will start you on the road to eating healthy. You will get better results if you give your body the protein and carbs it needs to get through this intense workout.

Read some of the other member's blogs - one lady blogged every day of her first round and she gave a pretty good description.

Good luck ! let us know what you decide !

Hi my name is SETTIMIA I have been on SP for 4 months,

I am not sure if this is for me, but have joined to find out more about the INSANITY workout from Beachbody

Could you please tell me how long the workouts are for?

I am not sure if this is for me as only have a small carpet area, so not sure if this will be advisable when doing the workout. Also recently my knees have been aching due to lots of walking and doing walking at home DVD's

Thank you for your time

Hi Amy ! Welcome ! Insanity will get your entire body in shape, especially your core and will build muscle for you. Sometimes people don't see the scale shoot down as much as they expect because they are building muscle. However, you will see your core tighten up a lot, feel it get stronger and your arms will get stronger also. At day 10 I started seeing jackets fit better in my upper ab area ! Month 1 will work your legs also, you may not see that as much because you are a runner and your legs are already strong. Insanity is a great program and you will see results !

Hi I'm Amy and this is my first time doing Insanity. I just started it this weekend. I wanted to change up my jogging routine a bit and to try something that will hopefully help shed the pounds as quickly as my jogging has been (or hopefully quicker). If I still have energy after the workouts I'd still like to get in a short jog on the weekends, we shall see how that goes!!

Hi Carla, sorry it took me so long to respond to you ! You are right, with each round your conditioning will improve. Month 1 gets you conditioned and ready for month 2. I've done 3 rounds of Insanity because I felt that I was not where I wanted to be after round 1. I was happy after round 2 but then just wanted to see where it would take my body. Now I am at the point that I can do all of the exercises all way through except when I don't eat right or get enough sleep or water. So... I'm a fan of multiple rounds if a person loves the program and the results from it ! Can't wait to hear your progress !

Hi everyone! I'm Carla. What made me get Insanity was the people on the infomercial that had to do several rounds because they were obese. It's one thing to see a already ok body & they just tighten up a little love handle but the ones that have at least 100 lbs to lose, that was the selling point for me. With that said, the dvds sat on my tv for almost a month because I felt I need to get my conditioning together first. What I realized is, with each round I do my conditioning will improve. So my plan is to follow the calendar to the letter but create my own motifications without pressing pause. Working on cleaning up my diet also. Hopefully by the close of the year, I'll have good things to say about this experience.

Carla

Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't.

Yesterday my Insanity dvds arrived, so today I did the fit test and tomorrow I start the proper workouts. So excited, but also thinking that I truly must be insane! Having SP is so helpful to keep me motivated and I'm loving reading everyone's experiences with Insanity as motivation to first of all do it, and secondly to keep doing it!

Thanks for the reply CH0718. Unfortunately my boobs are on the larger side of G emoticon I feel like I need reinforced concrete sometimes
I found a Bendon brand one in my size so I'll try that one out - looks similar to my previous one.

Ashtreenz - I love love love SkirtSports workout clothes and just tried their fairly new sports bra line about 2 weeks ago. I love it! I have the a/b one, but am on the larger side of the B and need support as well. Lets just say that after nursing 2 kids, the girls can't handle bouncing as well as they used to. :-) skirtsports.com is the website. They have local retailers as well, usually running stores.

Welcome ASHTREENZ and CH0718 ! Glad you are here ! In answer to the sports bra question, I have seen some really good ones at "Dick's Sporting Goods". There is a large selection there as well, and they have online shopping if there is not one in your area.

Cho718 I understand difficulty with the knees. I used to run and loved it, but the impact was just too much. Doing T25 as well, I would think you would still get great results stretching out Insanity. You're at the level that you're able to listen to your body and adjust. Welcome to Insanity for the Ladies, Always feel welcome to post, ask questions, comment ! Dig Deeper !

Hi all. I'm a 39 yr old mom with a full-time job, wonderful husband, and awesome running friends. I'm kicking off my 2nd round of Insanity on Monday (after a big running race this weekend). I will be stretching Insanity out because my knees get sore doing too much mileage and doing Insanity at the same time. I finished round 1 at the end of August and meant to get right back to it after a week's rest while on a camping vacation. Yeah, well, here it is early October and I'm not doing it. I'm also doing T25. I can do that on days I run just fine. It's not as high-impact, and has a modifier for times I need to lessen the impact.
Anyway, that's me. I look forward to supporting and being supported by this team. Thanks!

I've done Insanity in the past and found it to be a great workout. I need to find a good sports bra before I get back into it - so if anyone knows of a super supportive one let me know emoticon

Welcome ! Insanity is a great workout and will bring you great results ! Every day I post a new tip, some for round 1, some round 2, some just general. We also run some eating challenges a couple weeks at a time. However... in the beginning I recommend following the Insanity meal plan book until you get a good feel for what you like. Check out the blogs also.. one of the team members has done entries for every day of round 1, so you might find that helpful. We also have a daily emoticon thread... posting gets you spark points so this is an easy one ! Feel free to ask questions any time ! Dig deeper !

I found a heart rate chart that told me what the Remperate, Aerobic, Threshold and Redline ranges were. I checked my heart rate a lot during my first round. For the most part I was in the aerobic and threshold ranges, which was around 161.

I'm glad you are finding that a water bottle helps and you are modifying the moves.

I started week 2 this morning. Getting a tiny bit easier through the warmup. I will wear my HR monitor tomorrow. My resting HR is around 55, but when I try to check my HR with my fingers during the DVD it seems like my HR is over 200 which is way too high but I want to confirm..I have worn my HR monitor when I run and it was in the 160 usually. I am still having some issues with my feet. I have new shoes because my plantor fascitis seemed to be acting up..sometimes it feels like I have something in my shoe..really it's the tendon swollen. I"ve been rolling by arches on a frozen water bottle at work and that always seems to help.
To avoid sever foot cramps I've been walking through some of the moves that want me to bounce on the balls of my feet..ie..butt kicks..when I feel the cramps getting worse. It's improving...

I would advise a recovery week in between rounds. Do the recovery videos that we did between month 1 and 2. Add in some other less intense workouts if you feel you need something else. I'm almost finished with my 3rd round - in between round 1 and 2 my "beachbody" coach told me to give my body 2 weeks rest. Congrats on finishing your first round ! I absolutely say do it again !

Hi, I'm Jane and I am on Month 2 of Insanity. It is still tiring for me and I hope I will be toned when I am done with the program. I don't think I lost much weight. When I started, I noticed I lost a few pounds and gained them back pretty much soon after. It has been pretty much stuck for awhile now.

I feel stronger and my pushups are improving. The oblique pushups and moving pushups are hard for me.

Jane

Hi She-Lion ! Don't be intimidated, Shaun T is a great instructor ! Just push that "play" button every day. I am on my 3rd round of Insanity and I can truly say that it is the best workout I have every done!

Some hints and support I can offer quickly:
Focus on the exercise you are doing at the moment and do the best you can
Go at your own pace
Eat well - the nutrition guide really helps
Drink lots of water
Listen to your body, it will tell you lots of information !

You can do it !

Hi ..

Just got my Insanity DVDs in the mail Saturday. I am more than intimidated by the whole thing, but I am going for the gusto. I am 40 lbs overweight and I don't care for how I'm feeling. I am glad to be here and get some encouragement from other ladies doing it too.

Hi, y'all! I just finished Day One (Fit Test). Man, this is going to kick my butt, lol! And that wasn't even a workout! :/ I'm optimistic, though. I was around 20lbs over my goal weight when I got pregnant. My daughter is 2 now and I've really got some weight to lose. My husband and I each want to lose 50-60 pounds. I bought him INSANITY for his birthday last week and we're doing it together. I'm cautiously excited. We'll see how I feel after tomorrow's workout, lol. I'm hoping to supplement this with some yoga a few days per week to help my flexibility. I'm also hoping this group will help keep me motivated and inspired to continue!

Hey ladies ! I'm 47 and 9 days away from finishing Round 2 of Insanity. Love it and love the results ! I have a question for those of you who have done it and continue to work out: how long did it take you to get rid of the lower ab "pooch"? I see changes, but that's the most stubborn part ever - just wondering if anyone has some success or having a hard time with it too.

Hello Guys - I'm new to Insanity. I have to admit - I bought the program a while ago and it hasn't come out of the box until now. I am excited and anxious to start the program. They say the first week is the toughest, right :) Wish me luck - I start tonight :)

Hey everyone! I'm so horrible at checking in here. I wish I could use my phone to see when people post, my apologies. What I did though was create a Facebook group for health and fitness and thought if you all wanted to join me we could meet up there. That may be easier.

Let me know what you think? I'd love to hook up with you all on FB in that group. It may be easier to chat there. Pop me a friend request: www.facebook.com/jojo76 and just let me know it is regarding SP and this group.

Jo

I'm Jen, I'm 35 and I have done Insanity and have 1 more week of the Asylum program left. I LOVE INSANITY AND ASYLUM! They kick my butt and leave me feeling great even when I am tired and sore. I never thought of myself as athletic, but I'm loving these challenges and want to find more dvds similar. I started working out with BBX Hardcore dvds 1 1/2 yrs ago, did them for 9mos, then switched to Insanity. After that I tried out some random dvds like Jillian Michaels shred, yoga, and kickboxing. They were ok, but I missed the BBX and Insanity styles. I just bough Kettlebell Kickboxing and Rockin Body, so hopefully they will be enough of a challenge too.
When I did the Insanity program I didn't lose much weight, but I did lose inches and am finding similar results with Asylum. However, I have noticed a BIG change in my endurance and cardio health.

HI.. Im Shannon. Im 35 years old. I am on my 4th week of Insanity. Ilove the work out. It kicks my butt! I like working out and feeling like I cant move afterwards and dripping sweat.. makes me feel like I did a geat wokout. I been tracking everything I eat and drink with sparkpeople..just got the app for my phone.its great! I did the test to see how many calories Im aload and I get 1500 a day.. sometimes it hard to get 1200 and others I do 1900. I just weighed myself this week and I have only lost 6lbs. Yes I have lost but I was hping for a bigger number. I just startin jogging for 20 mins every other day.. Im so sore! My legs..inner highs..my back..my love handles..lol everything..I wasnt very excited about jogging but I was told just 12-15mins can really help with the weight lose. We will see!! I hope everyone gets the results that they are looking for.. I no how hard it is.. we can do it!! Dig Deeper!!

Hello. I'm 47 and starting Insanity over again. I lost my focus after the first month, but I'm determined to finish this thing! I go back to work on Aug. 20th. So, I'm doing the fit test on Sunday, Aug. 19th and starting the videos on Monday. I know logging works and I'm going to do it. emoticon

Hello all! I am a on again off again exerciser, healthy eater and sparkpager. Hoping to stay ON this time. Trying Insanity (only on day 3) and pretty sore already. Been doing the workouts before work as that seems to be the only way I will actually do it... anyways, hoping to get motivated by the other ladies on here. Have not even looked at the nutrition plan suggested, but everyone seems to think its a big part so I might just do that when I get home. Hope everyone else is doing great!!

Hello all,
I am on week two of doing Insanity and it's been crazy! I love the workouts, except for how the first 10 minutes is exactly the same in each video so far. Does that change or is month 2 the same as well? (I haven't watched any of those DVD's yet). I have to modify any of the push up moves because my arms are not strong at all. But so far, so good. I went running the other night and I do feel stronger. Not noticing a lot on the scale yet, but hope to soon!

I have a youtube channel where I vlog about my weight loss as well as a family website, if any one else is into sharing links for the same...please do so or message me.
Thanks!

Hi! I'm Daisy. I am on week #3 of Insanity. I am doing pretty well so far. I haven't lost any weight, but I definately am more toned (and I have only about 8-10 pounds to lose, but really need toning). The push-up drills kill me! I cannot do them anywhere near as fast as Sean T. I have been pausing the DVD so that I can do them at a slower speed and still get as many as I can in, then resuming the DVD. I figure this way I will improve my strength.

Hello! I'm Jen and am 28 - a former collegiate athlete and runner. Over the past few years I've suffered some knee injuries and had to have them reconstructed. So there went running! I am on my third week of insanity. In college, I weighed 140 but I was working out about 20+ hours a week! Now, I'm up to 164 and something HAS to change. I'm not HUGE, but just a little jiggly and would like to tone up a bit. Is 135 an unrealistic weight for me? I didn't think so, but maybe it is. I'm 5'6".

Anyway, I hope insanity works!!! Good luck yall!

Good Morning! My name is Amity and i am a working mother of 3 (ages 11, 8 and 2). My husband and I are starting Insanity Monday July 9th 2012. We have been doing the nutrition program from Insanity starting last monday. Its hard to eat the calories that it says we need but we are working up to it. Hubby has been working out for the last 6 months on a daily basis both in the gym and at home and isnt seeing the results he wants so we are doing Insanity. We just got the program on tuesday and my biggest problem so far is meal planning. With both of us working fulltime and our 1-2hour commute each way to work, it leave limited time at home to dedicate to meals. We have always been a family that eats together so that will continue. I have done parts of the fit test already but havent done the entire fit test from the dvd yet. Hubby did the fit test last night and it wore him out. I will probably do mine tonite and then again this weekend.

Hoping that this group will be a bit more active....
back to work now...

My name is Angel, I live in Louisiana. I am a wife and mommie of four children. I will be turning 29 in a couple months and would love to actually be "in shape" for the first time in my life!

I started INSANITY Yesterday... today was my day 2. I think I watched about a good 40% of it, and that might be low balling it... but I am walking like a zombie! lol.

I am not say overweight. At 5'3" and 139, I'm just really jiggly. I've always been slender, around 110, my entire life, until I started working... behind a desk. The weight slowly started to settle on. I am so ready to take charge and change.

I've never seen my abs... but I know they're there... I can feel them burning! :)

Really intense. Doing A very modified version and still kicking my a$$. I thought I was pretty tough but this is definitely for serious advanced exercisers.. Sean T looks like a pro NFL player and everyone else is YOUNG. But it's giving me new ideas for my own intervals. Also I just started and will give myself a chance....

Not using Shakeology. Haven't looked into it. Using borrowed DVDs so don't have all paperwork.

Hi, I am new to the team. My name is Nancy and I live in beautiful western Oregon. I am 45 years old, 3 kids, and I teach PE. I want to be able to keep up with my students and to feel good in shorts and swim suit. I am just starting Asylum... borrowed it from a friend so I dont have the nutrition plan. Tomorrow is day one!!! I am hoping to drop a few pounds but mostly to improve muscle tone and cardio fitness.

Hi, my name is Chris and I started Insanity on Monday of this week so I just finished Day 6. Don't have the nutrition plan - borrowed the DVD's from someone else. But I'm using Spark People's tracker so I should be fine. Do anyone else's calves feel like they're going to explode????? Hee hee!

I did do two rounds of P90X so I'm excited to see what results I'll see with this program.

Hope everyone is doing good and digging deep.
I just finished my last work out for my recovery week then I will be starting the next set on Wednesday. We previewed the video. Oh man oh man!!! I can't wait to see how I do.

I wasn't paying attention to the calendar about when to do the 3 fit test. I thought it was last week but it's not till this week. I did it last week so I don't know if I will do it again on Wednesday.

We will be leaving on Thursday for California. Dropping of my father in law and taking a mini vacation. Kind of worried about my food intake at my in laws because they are all Mexicans and they are known for frying just about everything or using oil/lard in everything.

Hope everyone keeps breathing and sweating.

Sorry I haven't been on. No good excuses. Was busy last week with a wedding cake and then the wedding on Saturday. Missed two days of the workout because of it. You can see pics on my blog. Back at it and then I got sick with a cold. Good thing one day was a rest day and yesterday I was too sick to do it. It was day 1 of week 4. I tried some but got hot really quick and tired easily. I did do the stretching and ab workout. Today I am feeling better so I will give it another try.

Welcome Briana. Hope your sticking with it.

Bragga ~ I don't know if that inspires me or scares me at this point. I do know I am looking forward to the challenge.

My knees started bothering me a couple days ago. I've been icing them, but I don't think I will be doing anymore power jumps until the fit test. I did some reading about knee pain with INSANITY and read that you shouldn't be doing the program if you are more than 25 lbs overweight. Well, I'm nearly 100lbs overweight so I am going to have to modify some exercises so I am not so hard on my knees.

"Keep breathing. Keep sweating" - my favorite quote from him.

Best of luck Briana! I am now officially on Month two. I remember the first week and thinking how am I ever going to be able to do all of these moves. They definately got easier each week, though I would say I never fully did any video without stopping for my breath and they are never easy, lol. Now I feel the same way starting month two. Wow, I cannot believe the things I am doing with my body, this program truly lives up to its name. Keep going, sounds like you are doing great so far!

Hi! My name is Briana and I have just started Insanity. Today is Day 2. When I did the Fit Test yesterday I felt like I was going to die. I have never been this out of shape before. I can't wait for the 60 days to be over so I can compare my first fit test to the last fit test. I am also throwing in some Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and Yoga Booty Ballet in as well just to mix it up sometimes. I also enjoy going for walks in the evening with my family. I hope that being a part of this team will help keep me motivated.

No, I am not using Shakeology either. I just buy the low cal low sugar protein shakes, whatever is on sale. It is very expensive. It's been expensive just to make sure we are eating the right foods and the right calories.

I just started week 5, the week where you do the same video all week. I can definately tell that my body is a lot stronger but still small changes. But a small change is better than no change I guess :)

Just finding time to do insanity workouts and meal planning has been a struggle but has also held me accountable to workout which has always been a down fall. I will say that this 5k will prob not be the best I'll ever run because my time is already stretched to thin. Maybe the 5k can be a goal for you after insanity :)

Keep pushing play, your doing great!!

No I am not using the recovery formula. Are you using it? I have never really "believed" in that stuff unless you lift weights and are a body builder by profession. I do have a smoothie with protein powder once a day. ISANITY was expensive enough without buying all the extras to go along with it. I was interested in trying the shakeology until I saw the price. I don't have much weight loss, only a couple poounds for the two weeks and not much inches either but I was noticing the fat in my stomach area is shifting around and is "placed" differently now. Guess that's good I am seeing some changes.

I have started, before, the c25k program. During it, I found out I was pregnant. I never went back to it. It's a goal of mine to be able to do a 5K. It's hard to get out and "train" with my kids. I would like to do it in the morning but they are always with me. The evening is when we do our INSANITY. Now that it is written, it just sounds like another excuse to not do something.

Just finished week 2 yesterday. Today is the rest day and tomorrow the fit test. I know I can do better with it this time.

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days. Been super busy and now I have a huge cake to do for this weekend. Got a chance while baking to sneak on. I'll try to be better.

I dont do the the workouts any other time. With work and my kids there is barely enough time to get the scheduled workout in. I am running a 5k in a few weeks. I have never been a runner but I will say that this program has greatly increased my indurance. I ran 3 miles without stopping for the first time last week, I have never ran that far. I have been running on my lunch breaks on the day that is scheduled for Cardio Recovery. I am sure thats the day I should take it a little easy but the other workouts exhaust me!!

I am not really a soda person but candy is definately my weakness. I have given in a couple of times in moderation and tried to still keep my calories in check. I am hoping the big results will be next month. I do feel stronger and thats good. Are you using the recovery formula?

Finished the first week. Time flies. Had my rest day yesterday and starting back at it today. Totally irritated that I have lost a whopping one pound this week. My diet has been on track the entire time except for one meal and even with that I had in moderation. I have not had soda or candy or any type of junk food, except for ice cream with that one meal. I am a big soda and candy person, so to have given that up and not seen results, is a major disappointment. I did my inches and actually grew a few. I made the committment for 60 days and I will stick to it.
Bragga - I love working out with my husband. He can do more than I can but I figure I am doing pretty good for my weight and just starting out. It's frustrating to me that my belly fat gets in the way of some of the moves. I know I could do better if it wasn't there.
Do you do workouts any other time or "practice" the moves throughout the day?

Hello There!

My name is Amanda and I am in week 4 of Insanity. I will say that this week has been the biggest struggle. For some reason its been hard to find the motivation and push through the workout. Maybe its because I am not seeing the results I want to see. I am gaining weight and not loosing. I know muscle weighs more than fat, to measure inches and not weight and all that stuff but it's still disappointing. Regardless I will press on :)

@NAOMIPALOMARES, I am doing the program with my husband as well. He is in the military so his ability to keep up annoys me sometimes, lol. But he definately pushes me to try my hardest. I remember the first week, my calves and thighs burned all week! Keep pushing, the workouts get a little easier each time.

If I keep talking to myself for too much longer, I might go crazy.
We all did Day 1 yesterday. My husband did awesome. I hope that I look as deteremined as he does when I do mine. My thighs are sore today. While doing it, I felt I was pushing myself as much as possible but afterwards, I felt fine and thought I should have been able to do more. But as your doing it and your muscles are skaking and not moving, there's not much more that can be done.
Yesterday was an awesome day with food. The guideline in the book says for me to eat 2200 calories to lose weight. That seems like a huge amount to me so I am keeping it around 1500. The meals I made myself were awesome and filling. I didn't count calories until after it was made and eaten and they all came in just under 400/meal.
Well, if there are any lurkers out there, post and say hi.

Okay so my fit test was done yesterday. I felt so sick and nauseous after it. It's a good thing I do this in the evening so that I can just rest after. If you want to know more about my experience, I blogged it
Today my husband and I start our workouts. We' ve taken pics, measurements, and are ready to go. Following the meal plan doesn't work for my husband because of work schedule. I stay at home but prefer to do my own type of diet, somewhat following the meal plan. It says I should be eating 2200 calories a day. Wow that's a lot.
K. Well I hope everyone else is doing good and digging deep.

This board is pretty quiet. The leader, who has done an amazing job with losing weight, hasn't posted in awhile. Where are you?
I just received INSANITY yesterday. Doing my fit test today. My 12 year old has already done it twice and the first workout. My husband looked as if he was going to pass out doing the fit test. He looked dizzy and lightheaded, he couldn't keep his balance towards the end. I laugh at them and their pain, but I'm next.
My name is Naomi as you can tell from my screen name. I've been married for 14 years and we have 4 boys. I caregive for my father-in-law who lives with us.
I hope that this board picks up a bit for talkativeness so that we can see our progress together.

Hey, peeps!! I SERIOUSLY hope this team is active. It seems like every team I have found has nothing going on. :) I started Insanity today. I'm about to go to the fit test part and post those results. Before I do that, I'll introduce myself. My name is Josie, and I'm 30 years old. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Hi,

I just started Insanity this week. Today is day 2 for me. Wow, was it tough. I have done P90X in the past and that was nothing compared to Insanity.

I can't believe I have gotten so out of shape. My job is really stressful. Between the long hours, lack of movement (I never need to leave my desk) and stress eating, I have gain 20 pounds alone of the last year and a half I have been there.

I finally decided it isn't worth it and it's time to take care of me. I look forward to taking my life back and meet some new people along the way.

Cheers!

Hi ladies!

Today is the last day of week three for me! I have never been so excited about a fitness program!

A little bit about me: I'm 29, a former competitive gymnast, swimmer, dancer (Modern, West African, Tribal Belly) and 10k runner.

Last year I finally found the courage to leave an abusive relationship and unfortunately lost my circle of "friends" along with it.
With no support system, I became really depressed, stopped working out, and developed really unhealthy eating habits. After stepping on the scale one day and seeing that I had gained 40 pounds (I'm a very petite 5'0) I knew I need to completely overhaul my life.

I left my lucrative (albeit soul starved) life as a professional Hairdresser/MUA in Los Angeles for the green forests of Western Washington.

It hasn't been easy, but I wouldn't trade the perspective I've gained for anything! For the first time in my life I'm living for myself, and NOT making decisions based on fear (in Los Angeles your appearance and perceived financial situation IS EVERYTHING...ugh).

After hearing from a few friends how much they liked the Insanity program, I decided to give it a try. I've done interval training in the past and liked it.

I'm excited to be a part of this team

emoticon

Hit my goal of losing 60 pounds on 3/20/2012

Living proof that you can achieve your goal! :)

Hi Ladies!

My name is Christine and I am 24 years old. I have struggled with my weight for pretty much my entire life and, with the weight causing both health and emotional problems plus a wedding on the way, I finally decided now is the time to take my health seriously and get fit. A good friend of mine is almost done with her first round of Insanity, and her results so far are amazing. After seeing her transformation and the excitement she has for this program, I figured I would give this thing a try.

Today was just day 2 for me, and I am quickly finding that the program is no joke! It is already kicking my butt, but that is exactly what I need. I know there are going to be days that I don't feel like going on, but I am determined to push through. I'm glad to find a group on here for much-needed motivation and encouragement.

Hello,

Great to have you here. Congrats on starting Insanity, you can totally do this, I have no doubt. All you have to do is do as much as you can possibly do. Don't try and keep up with your son, if he is doing it again, or keep up with the folks on the video, but do your best and that is it. You will get better as the weeks progress. I am sure you will do great. Keep us updated.

Hi ladies, I am ready to join the movement of Insanity. I really think I am insane for even trying and being 80 lbs over weight but today I did the fit test and I'm ready to be committed (to the asylum and the program). My son completed the program and suggested I give it a try. He doesn't think my dancing is providing the toning I need but that the weight I have lost is a good start. So I decided not to pass up a challenge from the young lad...LOL the joke may be on me.

I did log numbers with all the fit test moves so that alone is a great start to me. Yes, I took breaks but the fact that I attempted EVERY move made me a beginning success story. I'm on board and thanks for having a support system. emoticon

Hey Kristin,

Nice to meet you! So you are loving Inasnity huh? What is not to love? The workout is awesome, Shaun T is a cutie and the workouts actually work! If you are interested in joining a Facebook group let me know as I have some people (a lot actually) there too. They are doing Insanity, P90X, and other Beachbody workouts. You'd like it and definitely keep motivated.

Great to have ya here!

Hi everyone, my name is Kristin and I am 27 years old. I am a SAHM to my 8 year old daughter and my furry child (my Pit/American Bulldog mix, Tyler). I am on week 2 of Insanity and I love it. However, I am having some depression/motivation problems and so I thought I would find some ladies doing Insanity and see what they have to say emoticon

Hey Pam!

Congrats on all of your weight loss. I want to be like you when I am 59, that is so great! I definitely look up to folks like you. I want to be active like that at your age, fantastic. What motivation.

So how are the workouts going so far? Are you getting the hang of it now into your next week? Tough program huh? It is a love and hate it thing don't you think? Just wait for month 2, you will be really hating Shaun T but still loving him, haha.

Great to have you hear. If you have questions about anything please ask.

Hi all, I'm Pam and am 59 years young! I have been overweight most of my life, but for Christmas last year, my DH bought me "The Biggest Loser Challenge" for the Wii, and I was hooked on exercise. Before that, I HATED to exercise. I am a "recreational runner", but definitely not good at it. I have done a marathon and a few half marathons, but would like to do better at them. I am doing my first sprint triathlon on Thanksgiving Day; very short (2 mile run, 14 mile bike ride, 400 meter swim).

Since I began using the Wii and watching what I eat, I have dropped 45#. However, I have been at the same weight range for the past 2-3 months and can't find the motivation to lose the last 15#. I did a bootcamp last month, which was challenging, but didn't "kick my butt" into higher gear as I had hoped. I have toyed with the idea of trying the Insanity workouts, because I need to do something that will increase my workouts.

I am just about done with the 1st week, and am liking this workout. I am finally getting my HR up so I feel like I am working harder.

I am excited about finding this team to offer encouragement to each other.

Pam

Thanks JOBRANDES! You know, I used to think the workouts we did at my martial arts school were tough. Insanity has made those workouts look easy!! Insanity is very challenging, but I know that it definitely is what I need to lose those last pounds.

Welcome HOGS08 and BLACKBELT92...great to have you hear. I'm impressed with the half marathon and the martial arts. You both have a lot to offer clearly.

I have been exactly where you have before with the weight gain and weight loss BLACKBELT. I used to weigh a heck of a lot more than I do now as I'm sure you have seen by my profile. It is tough, it takes time, but YOU CAN DO IT! Trust me.

HOGS, congrats on the half marathon, that is fantastic. Insanity will do the job for you. When I did my first round I was running around 2 miles, or 3, but that was about it. After my first round I took a run and did about 6-7 miles and I was good to go. It was really great. It will really help you build your stamina, endurance and cardio. Great program.

Great meeting you all.

Feel free to pop me an email if you have any questions. I have a lot of resources available when it comes to BB programs and LOVE to talk about this stuff. I've been through it all.

Chat later,
Jo

Welcome, Blackbelt92!

I've been there. Lost the weight, got comfortable, and gained it back. I'm tired of it, too! I think you'll love the Insanity program.

Motivation is why we're here! =) I could certainly use it myself from time to time.

Welcome to the team!
Michelle

Hey everyone! :) I joined SP earlier this year in the early spring. Since then, I've lost around 20-25 pounds through eating healthy and exercise. The tremendous support on SP has helped keep me motivated. However, I now find myself in a rut...I can't seem to lose anymore weight and as a result I've gotten frustrated and have started snacking, not exercising, etc. I gained about 3 pounds... I'm tired of all this frustration and I've realized I need to step up my game! I won't achieve my goals if I don't work harder from now on. Anyway, enough rambling... here is some more basic stuff about me:

My name is Theresa, I am 19 and am a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My hobby is martial arts. I weigh around 133 right now and am 5'1. I truly find inspiration from those who have lost 30, 40, even more than 50 pounds. I have lost 25 pounds so far, and I feel like I am at my wits end. I would like to lose another 10 pounds, to be comfortable. I'm a very petite female and I have no excuse to be packing on extra weight... Anyway, I purchased Insanity and am on Day 3 right now. I chose to become a part of this team because I know at times I will feel like slacking, and I need people to motivate me. Anyway, for those of you who were able to sit through my long post, thanks :D And I hope this team keeps growing!

Hi, ladies!

I've been doing Insanity for about 2 years now, almost 3, and I LOVE it! I just wish I have a few buddies to help me stick with it AFTER I've completed the 60 days, and keep me accountable to do it EVERYDAY of the 60 days.

Twice, while doing this program and following a meal plan, I've lost over two dress sizes and seen incredible changes in my body. I am 41 and this program has helped me get in the best shape of my life! TWICE. LOL

Just yesterday I started the program again, and I'm looking for a couple other ladies who are using the program as well to encourage, support, and celebrate victories with.

Hope to talk to you all soon!
Michelle

Hey Angie....nice to meet you. Insanity is an awesome program and I think you will have great results. Don't worry about not finishing the workout, just do your best. You will notice that you will do better as time progresses. I suggest that you don't hit pause and instead just take breaks as you go through it. You will get there.

Congrats on the 45lb weight loss, that is fantastic. Plateaus are a pain but this program I feel will change that for you.

The nutriton plan in this program is great and you should follow it. It is very important. I have a great spreadsheet I can send you if you are interested. You can use it to calculate your caloric intake based on your age, height, weight etc.

If you just keep your form right, don't hit pause, do your best, eat well, keep your core tight, and stick with it you will do great.

I'll pop you a message too because I have a great group on Facebook that you would like.

Jo

My name is Angie. I live in Texas. I have been in a rut lately with my weight loss (actually for a long time). I enjoy running and bicycling but have never really been very good about strength training.

I decided to try Insanity. Yesterday was my first day and so far I am enjoying it. I wasn't able to finish the entire workout but my extremely lean, atheletic, football, baseball, track running son couldn't either so I didn't feel quite so bad. I know that I will get there.

I was running almost every day about 2 miles and thought that eventually the weight would start coming off again but it didn't. I have last 45 lbs. already. I don't think it is a plateau because a plateau doesn't usually last this long.

I used to be extremely bad about not eating during the day and only eating 1 meal at night. I believe that I have completely ruined my metabolism but when I did try to eat I would gain (trying to change that mentality). I am now eating 5 small meals a day which caused me to gain a few pounds back (I think because my metabolism is still running slow). I was just eating sensibly and within my calorie range but after reviewing the Insanity diet plan I am going to try it while I do this program. Something has to work!

Any tips are greatly appreciated.
